But if you need to know anything else about Disney / universal I could be of use. I don't suppose that you happened to stay at the Disney Port Orleans resort by any chance as this is the alternative that the Travel Agent has been pushing at us. Just a bit concerned about it being suitable as it will be the wife and I travelling (no kids etc)?
Backroom Tom Posted April 3, 2011 Backroom Posted April 3, 2011 Never stayed at Port Orleans but it's one we have considered. Me and the wife have stayed on Disney with no kids and it's been great. POR isnt kiddie themed in the slightest. We prefer to stay on site as I dont bother hiring a car and the Disney buses are great however it isn't easy to get from Disney to anywhere else via public transport so a car would be pretty much needed if you were doing sea world / universal etc. Another reason we stay on site is we tend to go when they have the free dining offer on which works out well for us.

Ste B Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Prefer the universal parks, but always tend to stop in Kissimmee on the 192. From what i've read on other boards many have a downer on the north end of I Drive (past Salt Lake Drive). Try looking on www.disboards.com
rebelmswar Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 If you hide in a bush until the park is closed, Mickeys house is quite comfortable and you don't have to pay the next day.
Friarsnig Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Florida = America for chavs. I'm going to Florida next week - I suppose that makes me a chav does it? If so, is that good or bad?
Beta Ray Bill Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Florida = America for chavs. There's more to Florida than Orlando. But Orlando's good as it is. just not as great as a roadtrip around Colorado-Utah-Arizona-New Mexico. Of International Drive, recently stayed at Quality Inn 7600 ID. Perfectly fine as a base, walking distance to Universal, and directly opposite Tilted Kilt.
ABBEY Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 But Orlando's good as it is. just not as great as a roadtrip around Colorado-Utah-Arizona-New Mexico. indeed.

I agree, but I don't think my bairns would appreciate it as much as Orlando, although I would. We have a villa near Clermont for two weeks, any helpful tips for that neck of the woods anyone?

Backroom Tom Posted April 4, 2011 Backroom Posted April 4, 2011 Disneyland may be the original but WDW is the biggest and best by all accouts. I will do all of them though including Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea.
Friarsnig Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I was looking forward to seeing the shuttle launch on the 19th, but I have just found out it's been delayed until the 29th, which means I'll miss it. Damn and no blast.
Glenn Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I stayed on iDrive a couple of years ago, some cheap, yet clean and functional hotel opposite Wet N Wild (10 mins walk from Universal). RodeWay Inn I believe Disneyland may be the original but WDW is the biggest and best by all accouts. I will do all of them though including Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea. I've done both WDW (Florida) and DL (LA) and WDW is MUCH better. DL feels very old and tired in comparison,

I love it and florida hasnt appealed to me even tho the family and mrs keep nagging ,rather go coloroda side and catch gods team lol
