BangkokRover Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I am Malaysia for the F1 race this weekend. So not sure i will be able to catch the game live but certainly we have to take the game to brum. We are the home team and i am certain they would be very happy with a draw away from home.

RoverMad86 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 This wont be an easy game. It will be ugly. We have to take the initiative and attack from the off. That means 4-4-2. Fast wingers. Santa will score. Rovers to win 3-1. Nearly safe.
Jimmy612 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 My opinion of the team we should play... GK: Robinson DR: Salgado DL: Givet DC: Samba DC: Nelsen MC: P.Jones MC: Pedersen AML: Olsson AMR: Holiett AMC: J.Jones ST: Kalinic Bunn, Cruz, Roberts, Rochina, Emerton, Dunn, Hanley I think we're getting a bit closer with this kind of idea. It is essentially a 4-5-1, but with the support of Olsson and Hoillet getting down the wings. The three centre mids I agree with (we were begging for Pedersen's set pieces against Arsenal). As has been mentioned above, I would think about slotting Emerton in at RB. Salgado hasn't been the same since Allardyce left. RSC looked better in the second half against Arsenal, I would probably start with him again. I still believe he is our best striker.
Daremz Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Absolutely play Dunn. We need to get our passing game (Liverpool match) going. Through balls behind their defensive line (which is not the quickest, to say the least) to Junior and Olsson can kill them. I think it'll be Santa upfront, but I prefer Kalinic, who then is able to play very deep with delivery from the wings, which suits him best.
SouthAussieRover Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Please can the topic title be changed to Blackburn Rovers?
Backroom trueblue Posted April 5, 2011 Backroom Posted April 5, 2011 For my money Pedersen should probably come back into the team. We need his set pieces, inconsistent as they are. Side for me:- --------------------Robinson Salgado----Nelsen----Samba----Olsson Hoilett--------Jones----Jones----Pedersen ------------------Cruz----Kalinic Subs:- Bunn, Givet, Dunn, Emerton, Rochina, Roberts, M Diouf Big difference for me is leaving Givet out. He would have been a shoo-in for me at left back - but after Olsson's excellent performance (if still a bit gung ho) against Arsenal, and with Givet's discontent with the club, I think maybe he should keep his place. He also works nicely with Pedersen on the overlap. Have I missed something here? Givet's discontent?
rebelmswar Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Please can the topic title be changed to Blackburn Rovers? It does have a Chinese takeaway menu sound to it.
SouthAussieRover Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 It does have a Chinese takeaway sound to it. LOL. I go for Blackburn Wover in a brown paper bag with sal and winega.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Rochina ? Lets be serious, it's not a game for a callow youth. I'd rather have Pedersen and you know what I think about him. Rochina mainly based on his performances in the reserves - and the possible need to have somtheing a little different to unhinge a strong Birmingham defence. One key thing - we need to keep tabs on their runners from midfield - hopefully PJ will have another stormer as the defensive midfield player.
Hughesy Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Have I missed something here? Givet's discontent? He is on about trying to take the club to court because his agent was a numpty.....check the Givet thread
Clitherover Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Have the Brum fans been given three quarters of the Darwen End, can only see tickets on sale in the lower left hand side on sale on the Rovers site?
roverthemoon Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Have the Brum fans been given three quarters of the Darwen End, can only see tickets on sale in the lower left hand side on sale on the Rovers site? Birmingham have sold out their allocation of 2800 tickets.
Presty On Tour Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I hate Birmingham City Football Club! That is all.
chris Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I hate Birmingham City Football Club! That is all. it's the accent right?
Sparky Marky Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 with our home defensive record being in the top 7 of the league and birminghams 2 wins away all season, I think we'll scrape a win...2-1
Ralfinho Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Im going for a nervy 0-0 first half then us to come out in full force 2nd half and win comfortably 1-0
super_arran Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Got a feeling Bentley is going to have a blinder and make the day extremely tough for us. An optimistic 3-2 to Rovers.
EnglishChris Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I doubt that he will he's been rubbish since going there.
gumboots Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I doubt that he will he's been rubbish since going there. I seem to remember at least one good game but can't tell you which one it was.
Amo Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 My only concern right now is that after a solid performance against Arsenal, Kean will randomly shake the team up and make too many unforced changes. We need continuity for the games ahead.
