BPF Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 One of them's got to be right sooner or later. Boom Boom. Venkys Big Sam Kean Rochina Santa Cruz. I think other than a few things that Venkys changed their minds on, I'm on a perfect score. Anyway, you know you love me Topman.

dring1 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Boom Boom. Venkys Big Sam Kean Rochina Bpf, Philip mentioned to me a couple of weeks ago about rafa signing a pre contract agreement. Seeing as the 2 other people have now confirmed it as well will Kean be sacked at the end of may if our league status is confirmed and rafa coming in imediatly. It was up to Philip weather he said anything but he has now Santa Cruz. I think other than a few things that Venkys changed their minds on, I'm on a perfect score. Anyway, you know you love me Topman.
Amo Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Anyway, you know you love me Topman. That was never an issue.
Athlete Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 One of them's got to be right sooner or later. I sincerely hope they are right + the puppet leaves !
adopted scouser Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Can you imagine if we stay up, Venky's turn out to have real spending power and we get Rafa ? Wetting myself at the prospect
rebelmswar Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 The inverse is horrific - we go down, they are broke and Kean stays. Anything is better than that.
unsall Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 In all seriousness does anyone think venkys have any intentions of sacking/ replacing kean!??? Talking to an employee of Rovers on Sat,and not the office junior but someone pretty high up who has been there a long time, and he said,as we all know, that Keen has indeed got a 2 and a half year contract, but as an employee of Rovers which can be manager, revert back to coach or any other job, which, if true, explains why Jenson only has until the end of the season,so it is possible they could bring in a new manager, and keep Keen on in a different capacity,we will soon find out........
Seggie Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Can you imagine if we stay up, Venky's turn out to have real spending power and we get Rafa ? Wetting myself at the prospect would make for an interesting summer at least
BangkokRover Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 would make for an interesting summer at least Would be excellent a 10th place finish is what I want next season.
Backroom DE. Posted May 4, 2011 Backroom Posted May 4, 2011 Would be excellent a 10th place finish is what I want next season. Staying in the Premier League would be fine for me, whether 10th or 17th.
Brfcrule1 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Although you can't underestimate staying in the EPL and providing we are an EPL team. I would very much like Rafa to be our manager one thing I though would like is for us to actually get get one of the marquee big name signings that would be great maybe in the summer we could get in touch with Carlos Puyol's agent.

Why? Does he represent someone we have a realistic chance of signing?
67splitscreen Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Jenson was hoping for a new contract a few weeks ago, no development yet!, every possibility that Kean will become a No.2 from whispers I've heard, most managers have their own assistants they like to move from club to club with. Who would be Rafa's, reluctantly maybe, but I could see the Raos keeping the love child on.

Who would be Rafa's, reluctantly maybe, but I could see the Raos keeping the love child on. The Kean staying on as an assistant makes perfect sense to me as he knows the players and I also think that it has been the plan all along given Jensen's short term contract and the rest of the coaching team operating on a skeleton staff, along with the Rao's unwavering support for Kean, this points to the idea that another man is coming in the summer with Kean staying on in another role or even still as manager with a strong director of football.
davulsukur Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Where is rafa's number 2 from Liverpool. Please tell me it was not sammy lee? Think it was Sammy Lee, might have had someone else before him, can't remember. Pretty sure Lee was his assistant at some point. Doubt he would leave Liverpool under King Kenny to come to us though.

Doubt he would leave Liverpool under King Kenny to come to us though. Paco Ayesteran (Sp) was his original assistant, followed by former Hibs manager Alex Miller I think, Sammy Lee only came in as his assistant in summer of 2008 if I remember correctly because he was manager at Bolton until late 2007.
Gav Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 The guy is useless - ask any Bolton fans. I think its the old coach v manager debate, he's really well respected as a coach, but as you say management material, ask any bolton fan......
Blue n White Rover Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 If Liverpool decide to keep King Kenny, and Rovers do get Rafael Benitez, Anfield and Ewood will be full of cream when both teams meet.
davulsukur Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 I think its the old coach v manager debate, he's really well respected as a coach, but as you say management material, ask any bolton fan...... Sounds familiar...
BangkokRover Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 I think its the old coach v manager debate, he's really well respected as a coach, but as you say management material, ask any bolton fan...... I wonder who has the higher win percentage sammy or Kean?
A cup of beans Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 If Liverpool decide to keep King Kenny, and Rovers do get Rafael Benitez, Anfield and Ewood will be full of cream when both teams meet. haha!
A cup of beans Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 I wonder who has the higher win percentage sammy or Kean? here's sammy's bolton record... Bolton Wanderers 30 April 2007 17 October 2007 14 games 3 wins 7 losses 4 draws 21.43 % http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sammy_Lee_(footballer) kean's... erm...
