 Yeah. And we should sign Messi while we're at it.

No one thought that he'd be the national coach of the Aussies, but he took the challenge.

Turned some ordinaries into a decent squad.

Ask, and you may receive, don't ask, you'll never know.

stick to the body plumbing son.

That's three times in the space of 48 hours that people have, for some reason, tried to use what I do for a living against me.

Smacks of an inferiority complex. When a doctor saves your life maybe you should call him as a "body plumber" too.

There's a big difference between managing an international side, like he did with South Korea and Australia and is now doing with Turkey, and day-to-day managing a club side. One requires far more commitment than the other. He's managed three smaller international sides but has never managed a smaller club side - not since he made his name anyway.

Not wanting someone who's won the UEFA Cup, Champions' League, FA Cup, La Liga twice is insane. Besides, even if Hiddink did think about coming, he's well known for always honouring his commitments and wouldnt leave the Turkish job until after Euro 2012 - see what happened with Chelsea and the Russia job. Russia only released him because Roman had his fingers in both pies, but Hiddink didnt stay on at Chelsea.

in the NOTW article it also says that Rafa would like Karl Robinson back at the club as his number 2.

Rafa is a better manager than Kean and with the money available would make rovers into a top 8 side and would be able to attract better players to the club than Kean.

I would back Rafa as manager because he is proven manager and would attract better players to the club.

I would agree with that Topman. If the owners want to challenge for trophies and get into Europe and attract very good players than you need a very good proven manager like Rafa, Carlo, Ranieri, Jol, etc.

Very good players won't come to rovers to play for kean but would if we had a good manager.

Thats complete horseshit. If we offer the best wages the best players will come and play. No matter who is in charge.

Yeah. I'm sure if we offered Ronaldinho more than what he got in Brazil he would've definitely joined Rovers. Oh yeah, and there was that time that Kaka joined City when they made him the highest paid player in world football, remember that?

Players might be too money driven these days, but they do think of plenty of other things when they join a club.

Calm down TGM, Dave doesn't mean anything by calling you a body plumber, and let's face it, you did spend your time drawing the profession like a loaded gun a few months back, so people will refer to it.

As for Rafa, we'd love him here wouldn't we? and anyone who disagrees TGM, please feel free to 'stat attacking' them, his record is terrific.

It's a shame, because it looks like there's going to be some top managers available this summer but we'll end up sticking with Kean.

Expect the unexpected with this lot

I really don't want Benitez, there is no team here for him to exploit liek previously, he would need to rebuild and he is an absolute numpty when it comes to the transfer market or understanding who to buy to fit whatever system needs to be employed.

Pipe dream, give Ancellotti anything he wants, he stands next to Ferguson, Capello and Mourinho as the greatest Managers around.

Ancelotti would never come to Rovers and im not sure if Benitez would be good for us.

For me Martin Jol would be a good choice has even got a job at the moment ?

Excuse the randomness of this, but i was onboard an oil tanker the other day with a Turkish crew. All the Turkish newspapers they had onboard had Jol plastered accross the back pages. Not speaking Turkish i was putting two and two together, however, it looked like he was pretty close to getting the job at Galatasary. By all accounts they have had a very poor season.

May rule Jol out. But isn't our Toogs cutting his teeth there under Fatih Terim? If Jol were to get the gig the chances are he'd take a backroom staff. Who knows, maybe a return to Ewood as a coach could be on the cards?

I suspect someone from the NOTW has been reading this website and seen the rumours. However the other rumour of a 20m transfer kitty are most encouraging if true.

I'm undecided on Rafa, he would undoubtedly give us kudos but his overall performance at Liverpool and Milan was relatively poor imo. He seems however to be regarded as a workaholic and might be a better manager coaching the players he's got than waving the cheque book about.

Similarly I'm not convinced by Ancelotti, looking in from the outside everything seemed to go completely **** up when Ray Wilkins and Steve Clarke left. How instrumental actually was he in their success?

If we could get anyone in, money no object, the man for me would undoubtedly be Hiddink. His record at Chelsea was practically flawless and if he'd taken over earlier the season he was there there he'd have won the League comfortably imo.

Yes Hiddink would be good - but sadly unlikely.

In what way Rev? He has given success to every single club he has ever managed? Steve Clarke and Ray Wilkins weren't around then.

Perhaps he is more suited to managing in Italy, I don't know. All I would say about Chelsea is they have been REALLY poor imo this season considering the players they have. And notwithstanding their squad is starting to get a bit long in the tooth. A lot of Chelsea fans seem to think they'd only continue to go backwards with him in chsarge as well.

TGM, I posted that to illicit a reply, and got it.

As Gav mentioned it was you who put your occupation on here and pushed it.

Perhaps, if you argued peoples points in a more reasonable manner, rather than being so dismissive and derogatory towards them, then you might get a better response.

You have done that recently and people have been more responsive.

Getting back to Hiddink, he's a coach that can get the best out of ordinary players. He is someone that is supremely confident in his abilities and would attract the talent to augment our squad.

Having said that, it looks now that he's destined for more lucrative pastures.

Finally, despite the heroics of a Kean managed side in the last few games, I believe he has to go, if we need to bring in the uber talent that is said that our owners want, and we need a talented "name" to do that. The FSW is a little bit tainted in my book.

Guillem Balague

For those who ask: Rafa Benítez has offers from Turkey, Russia and a couple of national teams. Nothing from Chelsea, Aston Villa, At M or Sevilla. He is not in a rush, not close to sign for anybody. Prefers to get a team that fulfils his ambition: with aspirations of Europe and possibility to work with first team and Academy. He will wait for that before he thinks of any other possibilities.
