Majiball Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I am not keen on Rafa, but if I have learnt one thing during this sorry saga it is that I will always appreciate the devil I know. Should fortune smile on us soon and the stork delivers us a new manager even if it is Rafa, I will support him.

John Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 In relation to potentially changing manager, I would just like to see a normal process taking place - research candidates and hopefully see a logical appointment with the best man for the job being appointed.
gumboots Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 In relation to potentially changing manager, I would just like to see a normal process taking place - research candidates and hopefully see a logical appointment with the best man for the job being appointed. That presupposes that our owners would know a good manager if they saw one. there is no chairman to advise them and look what we got when we took advice from Kentaro/SEM/whoever.
Darwen End Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I seriously despise Benitez, I hope we have a better manager lined up than him. Personally, I feel absolutely helpless as a fan if I'm given the choice between Kean and Benitez. Venky's might as well come and kick me in the balls while they're at it. You'd be lucky if you found someone better or as good as him! He's too good for your club. Harsh but true
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2011 Backroom Posted April 16, 2011 You'd be lucky if you found someone better or as good as him! He's too good for your club. Harsh but true Shame your club will never be good enough to win the Premier League.
joey_big_nose Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Benitez is a quality manager but he clearly does have personality issues and strikes me as someone who is not totally emotionally together. Plus he has always spent his way up the table and I am not sure we can do that. I think we would be asking for trouble to be honest. His attitude just does not strike me as right for a struggling club that needs to get up the table.
BangkokRover Posted April 16, 2011 Author Posted April 16, 2011 Team Total Points Cheslea 523 Man Utd 520 Arsenal 464 Liverpool 425 For me this table shows that Wenger is a dream manager with +£27 Million in the transfer market and 464 points. SAF collect the 2nd highest points tally and was -£27 in the transfer market again difficult to argue with that. Next is Chelsea(not sure if Jose was there the whole time) top points scores but also the highest spenders with -£186 Million. Then Rafa lowest points score and 2nd highest loss in the transfer market -£122 Million. Is that good enough probably not and has been pointed out he buy lots of players way more than any of the other managers on the list. Personally I don't think he is the right manager for Rovers due to his high spending. Rovers don't have that money how long would it take him to become frustrated with the lack of transfer budget??
Gav Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 The word in Liverpool is, Benitez is going to City, if and when Mancini gets the bullet.
rubecula Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Personally I think Benitez is a clown, yes I would say that wouldn't I? However it is an honest opinion as I really do not rate him in the slightest. I don't think he could run a soup kitchen.

I don't think he could run a soup kitchen. I think his record tells a different story, but he certainly lost the plot at Liverpool after the great start.
Mattyblue Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Get off our board 'Darwen End', I'll have the banter with Dingles, but you Can feck off. LFC aren't 'special', aren't 'different', just a club thet had a superb twenty year spell of dominance- that has long gone. BRFC are a grand old football club, winning trophies before you'd even bought a ground off Everton. So go and patronise some other set of fans.
roverwhelmed Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 You'd be lucky if you found someone better or as good as him! He's too good for your club. Harsh but true Kenny wasn't too good for our club though, was he?
Roost Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 You'd be lucky if you found someone better or as good as him! He's too good for your club. Harsh but true Were you at Anfield in 95? Go and trawl someone elses board you crank.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 You'd be lucky if you found someone better or as good as him! He's too good for your club. Harsh but true Liverpool were a crap club until Shankley came along. You pailed into insignificance compared to our proud club with such a rich history. Most people I know hate Manyoo and snigger at Liverpool. Which one do you reckon is worse Bindipper?
ABBEY Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Personally I think Benitez is a clown, yes I would say that wouldn't I? However it is an honest opinion as I really do not rate him in the slightest. I don't think he could run a soup kitchen. oh...hes won nowt as he and as no cv?
PAFELL Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 oh...hes won nowt as he and as no cv? I do not think that he would help Rovers with only 5 games left. If the club is still in the prem next season, then yes be good to start a season with him as the manager. He couldn't do a worse job than Kean is doing.
Stuart Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 The link with Benitez feels like yet more grand standing and publicity seeking. So it's not going to happen. But just imagine having a manager in the dressing room saying: "right boys this is the plan...". I can't shake the image of "Kince" stood in the corner of the dressing room playing rock paper scissors with Jensen before asking the senior players: "Right boys, what do you think we should do..?". That really CAN'T be the case though so why does it feel like that?

After watching that absoluter garbage this afternoon venkys need to go for a manager before the City game as it may just work , give the place a lift, etc a manager like Benitez can manage unlike Mr no idea Kean who isn't a manager Everton were there for the taking injuries galore and 93rd minute before we had a shot on target ! enougth is enougth !
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Will a 'big name ' manager come to a championship club....................................................
bazza Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Will a 'big name ' manager come to a championship club.................................................... Sven did. However, I wonder who will come to us as a championship club because that is where we will be next season, along with Blackpool and West Ham.

Champions League Semi Final 2005, outclassed Jose 'The Special One' Champions League Final 2005, outclassed Carlo Ancelotti Champions League Semi Final 2007, outclassed 'The Special One' again Finished runners up in the league in 2009, our best in the Premier League era. Like some people on this board have said, his record speaks for itself. Leave the soup kitchen to your current 'manager' eh?
Mattyblue Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I respect all football clubs, I especially respect the old football clubs that have been around since the formation of the League- you are not one of them, but fair dos you have won plenty. The problem is with LFC fans is your complete lack of respect for other, 'smaller' clubs that you deem not worthy, your holier than thou, we are special, we are the most knowlegable fans in football, your 'Liverpool Way' rollocks- not much of that on display for Roy Hodgson. If you are going to disrepsect BRFC with every post you make, you can jog on yourself.

Both clubs have had good success. Yes liverpool have a decent history. But so do Blackburn Rovers. Especially when you consider the size of the area they are located. the amount of other clubs in and around the area. Blackburn Rovers with limited resources have done more than well, they have done brilliantly.
