True, the spirit on matchday with the scousers is great, I was in a packed pub in Liscard when you won in Istanbul. I respect all football clubs, I especially respect the old football clubs that have been around since the formation of the League- you are not one of them, but fair dos you have won plenty.

I think we can all agree the Champions League format brought in in 1992-93 is a stronger competition (similar to the BPL), how has Liverpool faired in comparison to the likes of United, Barca, Milan or Real Madrid?

Its a shame how UEFA and the clubs greed has killed the UEFA Cup (Europa League) so that most teams dont even take it seriously. I mean how many 2nd, 3rd or 4th chances do teams need? Even 3rd placed teams from the CL groups have a go at the Europa League.

When I was young there was so much prestige attached to the UEFA Cup, & Cup Winners Cup.

UEFA is under pressure cause the big clubs always threaten it with the Super League concept, so they keep on making the CL bigger and bigger.

Now have a look at the top priced players first. How many were a success and how many were not?

And i'd be interested to see how many of the players he brought in on free's or for little amounts, have ever got near the first team, or will ever get near to it.

Obviously this is often used as a negative of Allardyce when discussion regarding Goulon, Van Heerden etc is brought up. But this is many peoples ideal replacement

I'd say 13 out of 19 were good purchases? There are always duds but overall I think he bought well.

Key is the guy is a winner, he wins trophies.
