AHoyle90 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 There are many other managers who are unemployed right now who I would take over Benitez. Not suited to our game I'm afraid even though he is a good european coach. Not the right mould for what is needed to take a club like Rovers forward.

ABBEY Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Jog on lad Our record speaks for itself, Liverpool will always be Liverpool. how about you show some respect? If you don't like my opinion fine but no need to slag me off Champions League Semi Final 2005, outclassed Jose 'The Special One' Champions League Final 2005, outclassed Carlo Ancelotti Champions League Semi Final 2007, outclassed 'The Special One' again Finished runners up in the league in 2009, our best in the Premier League era. Like some people on this board have said, his record speaks for itself. Leave the soup kitchen to your current 'manager' eh? but when have you won the premier league ,jog on hub cap boy.Soup kitchen ? what ya having binrat soup?
roversmum Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Darwen End, when will it dawn on you that WE DON'T CARE ABOUT LFC.
adopted scouser Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Darwen End, when will it dawn on you that WE DON'T CARE ABOUT LUFC. What have Leeds got to do with it ? Who the hell is Rafa Bentiez ? Darwen End you're coming across as a right dick, let it go. I lived by the Mersey for over 15 years and have many friends there, my daughter still lives with her Mum in Wallasey. True, the spirit on matchday with the scousers is great, I was in a packed pub in Liscard when you won in Istanbul. Fact is though you've been United's whipping boys for years, culminating in them geting to 19 in a few weeks guaranteed, most real scousers support the toffees anyway. So what if we go down ? If Venkys invest real money and bring in Rafa to engineer the climb back up again I would be wetting myself, like the bloke a lot and is a thousand times more adept then our Uncle Fester.

Darwen End Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I respect all football clubs, I especially respect the old football clubs that have been around since the formation of the League- you are not one of them, but fair dos you have won plenty. The problem is with LFC fans is your complete lack of respect for other, 'smaller' clubs that you deem not worthy, your holier than thou, we are special, we are the most knowlegable fans in football, your 'Liverpool Way' rollocks- not much of that on display for Roy Hodgson. If you are going to disrepsect BRFC with every post you make, you can jog on yourself. What we 'did' to Roy is exactly what you're doing to Kean! You know he's not good enough and there's only so much you can take. We knew before he took the job he wasn't good enough and once we lost at home to Wolves it was the final straw, he blamed us, he blamed certain players, he blamed the former manager but not once did he blame himself! And look at us now? Looks like we were right after all, getting rid of him was the best thing we did!

Jog on lad, I don't care how long you lived there. Whipping boys? The facts speak for itself, still Englands most decorated football club. Most 'real scousers' support Everton? Ha ha ha! Even if they do (which they don't) does it matter? We're still the biggest club in Merseyside, they haven't won a trophy for 16 years, their main aim is to finish above us every season, they'll be satisfied with that
rebelmswar Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Is Theno saving his venom for confirmation of this? I thought he would be furious at just the possibility.
Darwen End Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 He came across as a right dick about 3 months ago... ST Stand - Darwen End? Well lets hope I take your seat when we visit next season? That's if you stay up!

adopted scouser Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 The real plus point for you is King Kenny. Even against the Arse he brought in two young local lads at the back, a sign of brilliant things to come (and he gave that idiot Wenger some much needed abuse). Let's hope he can steer a club to the top of the premier league for the very first time, whoops - he already has Five European Cups United will be celebrating the 19 make no mistake
neekoy Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Five European Cups I think we can all agree the Champions League format brought in in 1992-93 is a stronger competition (similar to the BPL), how has Liverpool faired in comparison to the likes of United, Barca, Milan or Real Madrid? Liverpool have had their day but you guys keep holding that history while you can. Blackburn Rovers the only club still in existence to win three FA Cups in a row. yay history!
jim mk2 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I think we can all agree the Champions League format brought in in 1992-93 is a stronger competition (similar to the BPL), The Champions League is a misnomer in that it involves clubs who are not champions and in its current league format is a crashing bore. I think we can all agree the European Cup with its champion club of each country competing and with its exciting home and away knock-out football in each round was by far a superior competiion. Bring back the old European Cup, Uefa Cup and European Cup-winners Cup I say.
Guest linganzi Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Were lpool our champs when they win that pen shoot out ? They clutch at straws , dine of history and milk tragedy. They are now closer to us rather than united etc who they are firmly in the shadows of. What happened to Roy is different to kean. Lpool were an ok side Roy was an experienced coach who perhaps deserved more time but he was driven out because he wasn't like or one of them. Typical of the inward looking socialist state of merseyside which is all take and no give and accepts no responsibility for its actions

Dalgleish P18 W8 D3 L3 Hodgson P7 W3 D3 L1 incl beating Dalgleish's Liverpool and only defeat was to Chelsea - after taking the lead. Darwen End - away fans are very welcome on this board and can have reasonable debates with any of us. However, you are doing your best to make yourself unwelcome. So sense the general mood on here and wind your neck in will you. Btw, giving credit to Benitez for Istanbul? That honour goes to one man and it ain't Rafa.
brian_gallagher85 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 ST Stand - Darwen End? Well lets hope I take your seat when we visit next season? That's if you stay up! It's unreserved seating numb nuts!
adopted scouser Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Bring back the old European Cup, Uefa Cup and European Cup-winners Cup I say. I agree, but it's all about TV deals and cash unfortunately.
adopted scouser Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Were you drunk when you posted this nonsense ? Were lpool our champs when they win that pen shoot out ? They clutch at straws , dine of history and milk tragedy.Pretty offensive that. They are now closer to us rather than united Yes, you're right. After all, just look at the league. What happened to Roy is different to kean. Lpool were an ok side Roy was an experienced coach who perhaps deserved more time but he was driven out because he wasn't like or one of them. The same Roy who was driven out of Ewood Park ? Didn't he live down Mill Hill ? Typical of the inward looking socialist state of merseyside which is all take and no give and accepts no responsibility for its actions

Mattyblue Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Or at least change its name back to the 'European Cup', Champions League is a complete misnomer.
Bobby G Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Its a shame how UEFA and the clubs greed has killed the UEFA Cup (Europa League) so that most teams dont even take it seriously. I mean how many 2nd, 3rd or 4th chances do teams need? Even 3rd placed teams from the CL groups have a go at the Europa League. When I was young there was so much prestige attached to the UEFA Cup, & Cup Winners Cup. UEFA is under pressure cause the big clubs always threaten it with the Super League concept, so they keep on making the CL bigger and bigger.
Jimmy612 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 http://www.liverweb.org.uk/benitez.asp Now have a look at the top priced players first. How many were a success and how many were not? And i'd be interested to see how many of the players he brought in on free's or for little amounts, have ever got near the first team, or will ever get near to it. Obviously this is often used as a negative of Allardyce when discussion regarding Goulon, Van Heerden etc is brought up. But this is many peoples ideal replacement I don't like him,I don't think he's a good manager, and very often wastes money.
imy9 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I'd say 13 out of 19 were good purchases? There are always duds but overall I think he bought well. Key is the guy is a winner, he wins trophies.
