[Archived] Everton vs Rovers

I think I'd rather have Nelsen to be honest - he's more relevant to the present and will have greater influence to control and motivate the current players.

It really would unite the clubs and fans.

Agreed Nelsen might be a useful manager one day and could do a job now whilst he's injured. However, I can't see Kean being sacked and he definitely won't quit so it's a pointless discussion.

We weren't going to win today. Everton are on a decent run and despite horrendous injuries are playing as a team. Bolton, West Ham and Wolves are where we "might" pick up points not Everton, City and Man Utd.

The owners made the decision to get rid of Sam, I don't see how anyone can say the fans had any part whatsoever in his departure. If there had been Sam out banners, mass booing or marches on the street calling for his head then those saying 'it's the fans fault we are in this situation' would have had a point but that didn't happen so harping on about the fans influence is stupid.

I'll hold my hands up I wanted Rovers to explore the option of getting rid of Sam in the summer if they had decided Sam was not the man for them. It would have been the perfect time to do it with his contract running out, time to explore all the options and time to get their man in plus get the players used to the new setup. When Venky's decided to get rid during the season I was shocked but slightly optimistic as I was expecting a proper manager to come in and Venky's were talking about improving the football and pushing for Europe at the time. Instead they gave the job to Kean...

GORD IVE STILL NO IDEA HOW FANS CAN BE BLAMED,ARE THE VENKYS NOT ASTUTE BUSINESS PEOPLE?

Not on current showing. They obviously understand the food market in India but by their own admission and subsequent actions they know sweet FA about Prem football. They put their faith in a spiv so they must suffer the financial consequences. Problem is that we all have to suffer the emotional ones too and to see it unfold as was foreseen early doors and to be powerless to do anything about it other than post warnings is awful.

SO THEY SACKED THE MESSIAH BECAUSE OF BRCS ,DONT TALK @#/?!

Well a few goons on Facebook screwed us over once before and this mboard has about 4x as many members a names on the facebook petition. Do I think the actions of some people on VARIOUS sites provided a whole raft of bullets for certain people with influence to fire? Yes I do.

Theno- what a load of rubbish, you genuinely are getting a kick out of the situation that Rovers are in...

Oh yeah a League 1 manager is going to fail- great foresight.

Sacking a good manager in December is a bad decision- great foresight.

Getting foreign ownership could be bad- again after the countless debacles in the pl that again was amazing foresight, repeating the same points and trying to be the MB's Nostradamus is now wearing thin.

You'd better get used to it imy.

this is what makes it all the harder to take we are powerless to do anything.....Kean should not be manager of this club there is only one way we are going that is down !

Powerless and helpless and no one in the directors box to complain to.

It's one reason why there is so much anger on this board.

Which bit the talking rubbish or getting off on the dire situation?

imy, you've consistently wrong about Sam, Kean and Venky's. Just accept it.

So I was wrong when I said Sam should not have been sacked? Wrong to say we should support whoever is in charge as owners will not change their mind.

just in from the game.. game of 2 halves. played well the 1st. rochina was outstanding.

in the 2nd the teams heads went down at 1nil and after the penalty, that was that.

lost to a raggy deflected goal and a penalty. nothing to do with the manager.

im yet again embarrased by our so called supporters who went today. couple of chants were absolutely shameful.. one about venkys being p**is, next about wanting venkys out...

then "i wanna go home, i wanna go home.. steve kean's a w*****

i wanna go home!"

an utter embarrasment.. morons!

Wrong as always.

Not wrong - difference of opinion. I'm no more wrong or right than you. The sooner you accept that's how the world works, the more adult you'll come across on here.

There was no reason to sack Sam - none whatsoever.

Clearly our owners thought different. While we disagree about whether the sacking or the replacement was the bigger mistake, ultimately the buck stops with them, and they're the people responsible for our plight.

The fans need to be united, not bickering or gloating over our ex-manager - we should ALL be directing our ire at Venky's not at each other.

The Kean song , seems quite apt to me !!!!

The Venkys song is a big no no ...

You're entitled to your opinion of course but that does not mean your opinion is correct. An adult person would acknowledge this.

the raggy deflected goal you mention could have been stopped by a switched on defence not allowing the short corner. This happened several times in the 1st half and either Kean didn't address the problem at half time, or the players don't listen to him.

Oh come on drog, one hour in the company of the Rao's should have been enough.

The two parties never met though, did they?

I don't remember you exhibiting any such foresight imy. Well, not in relation to Steve Kean and Venky's anyway.

It must now be obvious that this club is lacking in leadership. We are all at sea with a captain at the wheel that used to be roger the cabin boy.

The good ship Rovers is heading for the rocks.

Seriously?

I'm very happy that there are fans out there that are acknowledging the **** we are in.

Not the first song though, obviously.

Had to wait until the 92nd minute for a shot on target.

We're still not in the bottom 3, but we're a club in crisis. If we drop in there, I cannot see us getting out. We could well go with a whimper.

It's all doom and gloom.

Say hello to the bottom 3

The fans need to be united, not bickering or gloating over our ex-manager - we should ALL be directing our ire at Venky's not at each other.

What he said.

The decision to hire Kean was Venkys, once the decision was made as a fan I backed it and gave him a chance- why be negative at that point? Secondly we were in dire need of investment Venkys were a risk any investment is again once it happened I gave it a chance. Hindsight? I call it stating the bleeding obvious, I don't see the point of stating the latter.
