Miker Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I think we've been Everton's bogey team in recent years, so I'm quietly confident, we seem to always do fairly well against them. That said though, Everton always pick up at the end of the season, so I expect a very tough game.

rubecula Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Just been chatting to an Everton fan who is a really old mate. He said not to be too concerned about tomorrow as up until recently he's been worried for Everton's safety. And now they have mid table security some of their players will be taking it easy, with their mind on the beach already. On top of that they are really struggling with injuries. He said not to expect a mauling by any means. It's difficult to be optimistic but at least that gives me some hope we can get something from it. How I'd love to be singing The Great Escape at the end of the Bolton match. To be honest, if any of the players from either side 'take it easy' then they should not be on the pitch and take up something else... like fishing.
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2011 Backroom Posted April 16, 2011 Not feeling nervous today, mainly because I expect a comfortable defeat unlike last week where I expected a win. 4 points from the next 3 games is crucial though I think. 3 bare minimum but I doubt that would be enough
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 If we expect the worst and hope for the best, the result can only surprise us in a good way. If we lose it's not the end of the world. If we get anything, it's fantastic. 3-1 Everton. I'm usually wrong so trying to jinx them to a loss .
G Somerset Rover Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Absolutely no basis for my blind optimism here but think we may somehow win. Everton always cock things up when they're riding the crest of a wave and we're clearly due a win. Reckon Santa may deliver 8 months early: Everton 1 Rovers 2
Daremz Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 All of a sudden I have matchday optimism. Why? Not sure. But I think, on the day of El Clasico, the name of Ruben Rochina will be written in BRFC-history-books. Amen.
onlyonejackwalker Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Huge game for the club. We are running out of time and need a suprise win from somewhere. Tough game ahead. Those believing Everton will take their foot off the pedal are dreaming. Moyes will have them well up for this game as he will be considering it an excellent chance to get all three points for his club. Our recent form and lasting away record is such that all teams now consider us a potential home win. Much as I would like otherwise, I think Everton will be too strong for us at their place and I expect them to take all three points. 2-1 to Everton.
Stuart Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Not feeling nervous today, mainly because I expect a comfortable defeat unlike last week where I expected a win. 4 points from the next 3 games is crucial though I think. 3 bare minimum but I doubt that would be enough I'm the same Tom. I was terribly nervous before last week but not at all today. If the players felt the same then maybe, just maybe they might relax a little today. That said, missing RIML's boy is a problem because even if Givet is back we won't get to see Olsson on the wing. That us unless we sacrifice midfield and stickl PJ at centre half. With The Zonz suspended it reall gives us a headache. Even more so if Junior is missing too. We need a massive performance from JJ and a goal of Roque's backside. 1-0 Rovers. For no other reason than our luck has to change soon.
mattyc2422 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Edgy. Optimistic. Nervous. Pessimistic. Angry. Excited. Etc. COME ON ROVERS.
Backroom Madon Posted April 16, 2011 Backroom Posted April 16, 2011 Praying that Hoilett is playing, that man is vital to us winning this game!
imy9 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I have a feeling that Everton will score first so will be imperative that we show the resolve and fight of prior games.
onlyonejackwalker Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Failure to win will result in our worst run of form since 1986. No win in 10 games. Confidence is bound to fragile and suffering across the group. I really think a decent performance and win is vital in this game.
Billy Castell Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 We'll win 3-0. Blind hope and optimism here, but sometimes a vital win can come from nowhere.
ada2020 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 We'll win 3-0. Blind hope and optimism here, but sometimes a vital win can come from nowhere. I'll go with that Billy, we have to get a win soon no question about it.
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2011 Backroom Posted April 16, 2011 Just put some money on Hanley to score first thinking he would come in for Nelsen, I forgot about Jone. D'oh!

Pugg Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 It's funny...when jones was first played in midfield we were saying round peg and square hole. Now we are gutted at the prospect of him moving out of midfield!
Craigman Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Robinson Salgado Samba P Jones Givet Emerton Dunn J Jones Olsson Rochina Santa Cruz Bunn Hanley Pedersen Roberts Kalinic Diouf Benjani
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2011 Backroom Posted April 16, 2011 I always get nervous right about now, not for the game but the team news ROCHINA STARTS!!! That team looks great apart from the gaping whole left by Hoilett, as soon as the ball goes to Emerton every attack breaks down.
chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Ruben up front with RSC. Dunn and JJ in middle. 4-4-1-1 today. we have to win today. come on rovers!!!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Is that official? Rochina starts? And Givet? Kalinic on the bench? Hoilett out? Arghhhh. We've nothing ( ) to lose, lets just go for it!
