Getting nervous now.

Head says we will lost, heart hoping for us to pull something out of the bag. I don't care if the ball goes off Samba's elbow, then hits Jermaine's nose, onto Dunn's right ear onto the bar and in the net off the goalie's chin for the winner. But we need points desperately.

Sounds like a back four of Salgado, Samba, Jones, Givet with Emmo, Dunny, J Jones, Ollsen, and Rochina in a five in midfield. Or it could be Salgado, Samba, Givet and Ollsen at the back with P. Jones staying in midfield. We'll miss Hoilett up front but we'll need him fit for the more winnable ganes. It'd take a draw now.

Evertons team:

Everton

24 Howard

02 Hibbert

03 Baines

05 Heitinga

06 Jagielka

15 Distin

18 Neville

07 Bilyaletdinov

21 Osman

16 Beckford

19 Magaye Gueye

That's not a team brimming with creative players. Surely we must fancy our chances looking at that line up.

Substitutes

01 Mucha, 23 Coleman, 30 Shkodran Mustafi, 26 Rodwell, 33 Forshaw, 27 Vellios, 28 Anichebe

Sorry my comment got buried between Evertons team and the subs.

talksport having a go, Playing Rochina is pure desperation.

I think they're right. It is a desperation move. We're starting a guy with very, very little experience in a huge game for us. A massive gamble that I personally wouldn't have taken. Having said that can he be any worse than Pedersen ? Let's hope he proves me wrong.

It's one of those choices that will either come up trumps or flop. Hopefully he's brought his Messi boots with him today.

No need to apologise, and your right it is a defensive team.

Hopefully we can break them down.

You mean like when we played Stead?

I think he's got the team about right but I would have liked to see Benjani starting. Why not give Rochina a go, nobody is expecting anything from the game and less pressure away from home.

Everton have packed their midfield so I hope it's 4-5-1 - Salgado Samba Givet Olsson, Emerton Jones Jones Dunn Rochina, Santa Cruz.

If it's 4-4-1-1 with Jones centre back then it's a very bold line up indeed. Huge responsibility for J. Jones if he's with Dunn in a central two. Everton are very good at keeping the ball in there.

i fancy us to get something here, right decision in having jones and samba at the back with givet left back. allows Olsson to go left mid in a midfield which would have lacked any pace had he not been there. Rochina will allow Cruz to stick right up top which will enable him to fully concentrate to scoring rather then linking up the play. if there is a time to beat everton its now, they dont have Arteta, Cahill or Saha thier most 3 effective players.
