grizfoot Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Looks like the diamond could be back, either that or it's 4-5-1 with Rochina out wide.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I saw it as a 4-5-1 with Rochina in front of Dunn and JJ.
chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 rovers to win today. RSC to score for us today. Hopefully the winner. off to the pub to watch it. come on the blues
Bobby G Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Too much being expected of Rochina today? Lets hope he and Olsson in advanced roles will mean we dont miss Junior today.
broadsword Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Getting nervous now. Head says we will lost, heart hoping for us to pull something out of the bag. I don't care if the ball goes off Samba's elbow, then hits Jermaine's nose, onto Dunn's right ear onto the bar and in the net off the goalie's chin for the winner. But we need points desperately.
Baz Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Interesting to see if Givet or Phil Jones at Centre-half. Could be either in that line-up
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 PJ at Centre Back, GIvet at Left Back.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Sounds like a back four of Salgado, Samba, Jones, Givet with Emmo, Dunny, J Jones, Ollsen, and Rochina in a five in midfield. Or it could be Salgado, Samba, Givet and Ollsen at the back with P. Jones staying in midfield. We'll miss Hoilett up front but we'll need him fit for the more winnable ganes. It'd take a draw now.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Hopefully Olsson moving to the wing will slightly offset the loss of Hoilett. Rochina needs to be given time. Glad to see Jones at CB. Take a draw right now if im honest.
Majiball Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Evertons team: Everton 24 Howard 02 Hibbert 03 Baines 05 Heitinga 06 Jagielka 15 Distin 18 Neville 07 Bilyaletdinov 21 Osman 16 Beckford 19 Magaye Gueye Substitutes 01 Mucha, 23 Coleman, 30 Shkodran Mustafi, 26 Rodwell, 33 Forshaw, 27 Vellios, 28 Anichebe
Bobby G Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 For some reason, I feel the Everton line-up is there for us if we played well. One too many defensive players in their line-up.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Evertons team: Everton 24 Howard 02 Hibbert 03 Baines 05 Heitinga 06 Jagielka 15 Distin 18 Neville 07 Bilyaletdinov 21 Osman 16 Beckford 19 Magaye Gueye That's not a team brimming with creative players. Surely we must fancy our chances looking at that line up. Substitutes 01 Mucha, 23 Coleman, 30 Shkodran Mustafi, 26 Rodwell, 33 Forshaw, 27 Vellios, 28 Anichebe
Nelsta Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 talksport having a go, Playing Rochina is pure desperation.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Sorry my comment got buried between Evertons team and the subs. talksport having a go, Playing Rochina is pure desperation. I think they're right. It is a desperation move. We're starting a guy with very, very little experience in a huge game for us. A massive gamble that I personally wouldn't have taken. Having said that can he be any worse than Pedersen ? Let's hope he proves me wrong.
Majiball Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 talksport having a go, Playing Rochina is pure desperation. It's one of those choices that will either come up trumps or flop. Hopefully he's brought his Messi boots with him today. Sorry my comment got buried between Evertons team and the subs. No need to apologise, and your right it is a defensive team. Hopefully we can break them down.

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 You mean like when we played Stead? Let's hope he has the same effect.
Kamy100 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Brave move starting Rochina, he has plenty of potential. I think it will be 4-4-1-1.
Josh Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Hopefully Rochina can replace the skill and pace we will miss without Hoilett
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2011 Backroom Posted April 16, 2011 I think he's got the team about right but I would have liked to see Benjani starting. Why not give Rochina a go, nobody is expecting anything from the game and less pressure away from home.
beerwins Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Dont see the gamble or what there is to lose in playing the lad, no bugger else can score and he is playing well in reserves and training. He has earned his start.
Paul Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Free Everton mints at the ground. Well worth coming for
LeChuck Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Everton have packed their midfield so I hope it's 4-5-1 - Salgado Samba Givet Olsson, Emerton Jones Jones Dunn Rochina, Santa Cruz. If it's 4-4-1-1 with Jones centre back then it's a very bold line up indeed. Huge responsibility for J. Jones if he's with Dunn in a central two. Everton are very good at keeping the ball in there.
Roversi Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 i fancy us to get something here, right decision in having jones and samba at the back with givet left back. allows Olsson to go left mid in a midfield which would have lacked any pace had he not been there. Rochina will allow Cruz to stick right up top which will enable him to fully concentrate to scoring rather then linking up the play. if there is a time to beat everton its now, they dont have Arteta, Cahill or Saha thier most 3 effective players.
