RibbleValleyRover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Roberts and Benjani? Well if it works Kean will be labelled by some as a genius, if it doesn't he will get rightly slated... I'm not confident we will score tonight if they are playing, especially Roberts. Looks like Roberts must be scoring for fun in the 'five a side' in the open nets.

Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 The key area for me is the centre of the midfield. With 2 up front, I can see us having 3 in the middle with Hoilett behind the 2 strikers. If Roberts and Benjani create space then hopefully Hoilett is there to exploit it.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I think we'll cause them a few problems if we have enough of the ball, but their midfield will crap on ours. No point scoring if we're conceding more.
broadsword Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 If true, then Kalinic must have lost all confidence and has been totally gash in training. Either that or Kean is hatstand. Can't see Roberts or Benjani scoring. Want to know the rest of teh side now. Most importantly, is Hoillett back from his hamstring injury.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Wonder if Super Keith is playing? Dreading the thought... Going back to the up front selection It really does make me laugh. Plenty of fans have been saying that Niko would be more effective playing up front with a partner, one to do the majority of the donkey work allowing Niko to get into the box and score goals. Kean finally starts with two up front (if the reports are true) and he plays Roberts and Benjani
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Wonder if Super Keith is playing? I think he'll be on the bench because I keep having a reoccuring day dream that he'll come on and score a last minute winner into the top corner to clinch victory for us.
Baz Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Anyone else able to confirm that Sky sports news are saying that? I dont have sky, but it seems very early to be announcing team-lineups.
Backroom Tom Posted April 25, 2011 Backroom Posted April 25, 2011 My prediction for tonight is a ridiculously comfortable 3-1 win for City. It's a sorry state of affairs when a mate asked if I fancied going round to watch there and I was tempted, I can't have any confidence ahead of any game after the last 2 home games. Rochina and Hoilett have to start if fit.
andyroversmad Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 SSN just had on there ticker that Andrews is fit.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Knowing SSN ROberts and Benjani probably aren't even in the squad, could well be guesswork.
broadsword Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Doesn't mean anything. I can't believe that Kean would be mad enough to pick Andrews. My face will turn grey and my nuts drop off if he does.
tony gale's mic Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Yet another idiotic decision from our tactical genius. Benjani I don't mind so much but Roberts? Again? Seriously?
Mattyblue Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Eh? I've had SSn on for the last hour, no mention of who's starting (why would there be at this time?)
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 The presenter mentioned it about 20 minutes ago.
steo Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Why did kean say he thinks kalinic will have a part to play in the run in and then play two muck strikers over him, will it be the jones's in midfield, jermaine has been poor bar the arsenal game but options are limited.1-0 prediction, samba with the goal hopefully but fear a drubbing!
philipl Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Drop Emerton and replace with Junior and I'd agree with the rest. Junior is a hamstring doubt so I was assuming he is unavailable to make the selection more difficult for myself.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 A ) wait until its confirmed B ) Allardyce picked Roberts for a year. Kean doing it isn't a shock C ) Kalinic isn't that great D ) More concerning/interesting is whether Hoilett/Rochina are involved.
philipl Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I am going into hiding- I said that Kean might pick a stinker of a line-up and SSN are suggesting he is doing.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 A ) wait until its confirmed -Agreed, but if true I only see a loss. B ) Allardyce picked Roberts for a year. Kean doing it isn't a shock- Roberts should have been binned years ago, he's crap. C ) Kalinic isn't that great- More likely to score than Jason 'can't hit a barn door' Roberts. D ) More concerning/interesting is whether Hoilett/Rochina are involved- Hoilett i would agree not so sure on Rochina. Would rather play a 100% fit Hoilett against Bolton than risking him against City.
Kamy100 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Nothing confirmed Re the teams yet. Roberts upfront might work, City struggled against physical strikers such as Davies and Carroll, so can see the thinking behind Roberts starting. Benjani has ability to score goals, he will be ok for 50 minutes or so. Let's wait for the teams to be confirmed first.
rebelmswar Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Well if Roberts does play at least the linesman will be happy. He will get more smiles and winks than the prettiest girl in a pub.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Nothing confirmed Re the teams yet. Roberts upfront might work, City struggled against physical strikers such as Davies and Carroll, so can see the thinking behind Roberts starting. Benjani has ability to score goals, he will be ok for 50 minutes or so. Let's wait for the teams to be confirmed first. Roberts never makes an impact as starting player, a blind man on a galloping horse could see that.
Exiled_Rover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Knowing SSN ROberts and Benjani probably aren't even in the squad, could well be guesswork. I hope they're making it up. Two of the worst players in the Prem.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Benjani is twice the player Roberts is, I don't see why everybody hates him so much. When he's not injured and in form he can be class.
tony gale's mic Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 To be fair on Benjani, the home games against Chelsea and Liverpool he was very good in.
