How could he have gotten everything spot on? Surely if he made all the right moves we'd have 3 points in the bag???

He was close but not close enough

We're playing a team worth 150m on paper, you can get everything right and get beat Majiball.

question for the jw people, just been listening to the fat manc squeaky voiced dick aka gary own and he reckoned the stand was full of city,is it true?

and question for the great security people of our club ,why let city fans again remain in boxes behind rovers fans after banging on the window and telling us to f off after they scored?

 what ? why? how hard do you have to kick someone for a freekick/pen to be given?

a.hardly

b.midly

c.hard

d.break his ankle first

it was a definite c. he kicked him properly and yes he made a meal of it but does that matter?

It was one of those situations where Roberts could have easily stayed on his feet. I didn't think he got hindered enough to warrant a free kick/pen, just my opinion. I thought some of the treatment Benjani was receiving inside the box was tougher (did you see the shirt pulling), but he's almost too honest for his own good.

Well if it wasn’t for bad luck we’d have no luck at all, but I guess that’s how things go when you’re down at the bottom of the league. Without a doubt Roberts was denied a penalty and without a doubt Bolatelli was interfering with play for the City goal, but that’s the moaning over with.

I thought to a man, every single player in blue and white deserves nothing but praise for last night’s performance, they ran themselves into the ground, and if they can perform to the same level for the rest of the season we have a chance of staying up.

A mention for the manager also, I thought he got everything right on the night. I’d have played Kalinic myself, but clearly that would have been the wrong decision. He takes some stick on here, but he got things spot on so all credit to him.

Onwards and upwards – Hopefully.

Eh? Did he hell get things spot on!

1. We should have started 4-5-1. City ran rings around us 1st half and going in 0-0 was a real bonus.

2. Kalinic looks 4th choice striker to me.

3. Rochina coming on for Dunny was crass stupidity which cost us a point..... to go with the point his defensive frailty cost us last week at Everton.

Well maybe the the missing 4000 from the darwen end filled the JW instead

i saw one on givet where he he nearly had it ripped off when he was horse collered with ref looking directly at it,unless hes cross eyed.

Surely that tinted glass that they put in the rear and side windows of cars would be the solution then no one can see them. But don't worry Abbey those boxes wont be in use much longer. :(

all show about them wanting to be a big club,a big city club with ideas like their owners should sell all their tickets for a derby match.

Can't disagree with you comments regarding the players efforts but:

33% possession

3 'attempts on goal'

No goals scored

If that's as good as we can give then we are as good as down. Draws will not save us, so someone must step up and take responsibility for their role as a striker, and start on Saturday.

Is that right 33% for the whole game? surely not.

City dominated possession for the 20 minutes, then it evened itself out once we got to grips with Silva in his free role. Then we dominated possession for large parts of the second half?

Fair do's we just disagree on the outcome of getting everything right.

Why are people harping on about 4-5-1, your all obsessed. City created naff all despite their mammoth possession after Silva hit the bar and we were the better team. The second striker helped keep the ball at their end when we launched it, it worked so for you cannot take issue with it. The mistake was going on the offensive with the third striker.

Correct. It's a sick situation in the Prem but it is why in fairness we don't really belong at the top table of football anymore. Us older lot learned that lesson in 1966 soon after the max wage was abolished. And it's why the talents of Mark Hughes and Sam Allardyce should have been kept at all costs. Fair enough with Hughesy Cook would have promised him a kings ransom but Allardyce was made for us. A top quality Prem manager of immense experience who nobody else coveted.

Who was the 3rd striker Maj? imo it was Rochina. Diouff was the 4th.

btw Silva hit the post. ;)

We would have won that game last night if we had one forward of premier league quality, but this is what happens when you go two seasons without one. Bolton game is truly a must win game, Rochina set pieces where good the one of note where he put the ball right on Phil jones head. People here are saying he’s a forward, maybe but he’s clearly one of or better creative midfielder as well.

The only thing we can take from this game is to try and build confidence (mostly out played man city) for the Bolton game, people will have to realize that SK is going nowhere, venkysare going nowhere, so the constant complaining about this will do no good, I’m not pro or anti SK/ venky’s!! what I am is anti-rovers relegation and complaining and moaning will do no good, determination* and desire* is the only ingredients and that’s for the most part is what I saw last night.

*Againts Bolton, WHU and wolves a little bit of skill will be require against manu

BBC have it as:-

46% possession

6 shots on target (to City's 5)

6 shots off target (to City's 5)

Totally agree. I think Benjani deserves a crack in the lone role with Hoilett, Dunn and Rochina running on from midfield behind.

It does seem low but that's what t'internets telling me.

I posted during the match I thought we'd switched to a diamond when he came on, it's not easy to spot these things on TV as you can't see everything IE the whole pitch. Rochina has talent but we had 2 more experienced players who could have just switched straight in in Gamst and Andrews and for me older heads were needed on the pitch last night. Jones instantly sat as a anchor man and Rochina sat in the hole, it was always going to be a difficult role for Jones as he would have 2 players from that point.

The problem last night was that we didn't have either a first or second striker

Benjani had a decent game and Roberts was lively for the most part. We defo started with 2 and then dropped one back and eventually ended up defending our own half and letting them have the ball in theirs. Personally I think Diouf should have come on in a straight swap for Roberts and Gamst for Dunny as Ped's tracks back well.

If we are relegated I can foresee neither being here by the end of next season.

What? You'd drop Olsson?

Benjani plays well one week then the next he is totally useless.

The other three don't even do the one week chris.

I don't disagree that they were decent and lively, but they are strikers and are not doing their job. We have a collection of non scoring strikers, that's one of the main reasons we are in the @#/?.

Its a valid point, I thought he was good last night, full of running and tracked back, think he deserves another run out on that form.
