BPF Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I'm hearing that there is a Steve Kean out protest taking place at the ground tomorrow. I've heard that the meeting time is at 12pm. Is there any truth in this? I don't really think that it will do much but it is a hell of a lot better than doing nothing which is what we are doing now. In the Steve Kean thread someone wrote: Steve Kean = Certain Relegation No Steve Kean = A chance. I fully agree with that statement. This is our club and it is being ran by people that have no idea what they are doing, maybe this would show them that the fans do know what they are talking about and that Blackburn Rovers are worth saving.

Ben-2000 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I've seen a couple of rumours. Numbers would soon grow once word got round and probably attract the media of some description.

Hughesy Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Sounds more like your trying to get one to organise one rather than asking if there is one.... Dont see many turning up on a non match day to be honest if true.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Save your protests till after the City game if needed....media scum will be there in numbers to lap it all up.

Ste B Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Is there any point ? Short of flying out to India, then nobody from Venkys will ever take any notice.

roversmum Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Is there any point ? Short of flying out to India, then nobody from Venkys will ever take any notice. Not even sure that would work, Ste. Doesn't seem as if they really care. Sad days.
Mattyblue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 The problem with too many Rovers fans is their game by game mentality. We get a good hiding from City, a protest would have legs. We avoid defeat and everyone ambles home/to the pub.

I hope there is. Sadly due to the distance, I cannot get there. But you need publicity, first from the local (LET) as then the nationals would - eventually - take it up. Make your feelings known to all the local papers / radio etc.
Stuart Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I think they have already lost interest If I recall correctly, didn't Mrs D say JW had lost interest? It's quite telling that they think it's that simple. Maybe it would be easy for them? No way has JW lost interest in BRFC - even now. I imagine he's as gutted as the rest of us. Probably moreso given the blood, sweat and tears he's put into the club over the years to keep us 'punching above our weight' to now watch it be thrown away in this way.
Mattyblue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 That statement from Desai about JW was when I first lost trust, and it hasn't been regained since.
BangkokRover Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Too little too late. Where were you when we drew with Blackpool and then celebrated like it was a victory??? It was reported that barriers were up and fans prevented from going around the front of the stand? The problem with too many Rovers fans is their game by game mentality. We get a good hiding from City, a protest would have legs. We avoid defeat and everyone ambles home/to the pub. 100% agree, moan for 85 mins while sat in the riverside and then bugger off 5 mins before the end. I guess they said JW lost interest once they revealed their master plan to him and he thought WTF is this!

A "get behind the Club, the owners, and the manager (be it Steve Kean or anyone else) and stop all the infighting" protest today would be far more beneficial but I don't suppose you or many on here would have much interest in that.

I am not stirring it I am calling it as I see it. I guess you will be at Ewood on your own with your Steve Kean love in. I have no issue at all with the owners to be honest as they bough the club when no one else was able to.

I have no issue at all with the owners to be honest as they bough the club when no one else was able to. The is growing unrest at the situation at Rovers - that is reality. You only have to read the posts on this board to realise that. Unrest that will only get worse until the owners open their eyes and see that they have made a huge mistake in having Kean as the manager. Kean is out of his depth and it is time for him to either resign or be sacked. Either way his time should be up. Protests do need to take place asap. Not during matches, but either after or on non-match days, with media informed before hand. Action has to be done in order to get a reaction.
RevidgeBlue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I guess you will be at Ewood on your own with your Steve Kean love in. If Kean were to be sacked he could have no complaints at all, it's a results driven business. However only the owners can make that decision and if they decide he's to remain in charge for the rest of the season then for the team to have the best chance of survival the fans need to get behind him or at least cut out the negative chanting towards him and or the owners unless and until all hope is gone. It's counter productive to boo the manager and/or the owners at such a critical stage of the season. Gav's quite right and I'm amazed a few more people don't seem to be in agreement despite the lynch mob mentality that now pervades this m/b.

The owners, kentaro/ja and kean have wreck my club that I have support for the last 20 years!
Lancs Rover Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 why should we? The owners, kentaro/ja and kean have wreck my club that I have support for the last 20 years! Erm, to help the team, maybe? Dunno. Just a thought. Then, again. Maybe laying into your manager, owners and players might work and, erm, lift the matchday atmosphere. For the opposition. We are all entitled to our opinions. Undermining performances on matchdays. That's for plastic fans. So meltdown.
RevidgeBlue Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 why should we? The owners, kentaro/ja and kean have wreck my club that I have support for the last 20 years! Exactly because it's "Your" club. I have come round to the conclusion that Kean should probably be replaced. However if the owners decide not to do that the only real option is to get behind him for the remaining games.
