John Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I thought this but mainly if we lose and stay up , will hate Kean a lot and still be very happy to stay up. Draw and a win and I should be ok overall. Basing your overall feelings on one game? Win, lose or draw, we should stay up however for me the feeling (when the season ends) will be one of huge relief.

broadsword Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I have to worry about some people's skills in English comprehension here. Unbelievable. Either that or they just try to spin everything.
Ralfinho Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 THANKS VENKYS, DRINKS ON YOUR GUYS ON SUNDAY Venkys giving us a tenner
RoverInWigan Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 great gesture, soft refreshments include beer though?
mark1875 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 great gesture, soft refreshments include beer though? cant be used for alcohol
Mattyblue Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 In the John Williams era it was touches like that- plus cheap STs that really set us apart. A positive sign that they will continue, but for Christ sake start getting the big decisions right- beginning with Kean. We will (hopefully) just about get away with it this season- PLEASE learn from it.
Backroom Tom Posted May 20, 2011 Backroom Posted May 20, 2011 Nice touch from Venkys and wise not to include alcohol really I imagine that bit would be a police decision
Uddersfelt Blue Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Absolutely fantastic gesture. Thank you Rovers
jim mk2 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Good ammunition to chuck at the management after the final whistle.
Iceman Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 we still don't know, the financial strength or marketing ability of Venkys. if we stay up, it will be interesting to see what happens.
sam_rovers Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 If they included alcohol could they guarantee that it wouldn't get into Keans hands?
Kelbo Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I think its a great gesture but have they left things too late, they have made so many bad decisions that most supporters are anti Venkeys. The way forward is to be straight with supporters, stop making sweeping statements then retracting them and tell the supporters that football management, (nice positive man who works long hours or not) is based on results. Brian Laws worked hard at our neighbours and his results were nowhere near as bad as Keans and he was sacked. I
ABBEY Posted May 22, 2011 Author Posted May 22, 2011 Never mind rapture and judgement day like it or lump it today is venkys judgement day..
philipl Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Well deserved mention for Venky's on the BBC just now: Flop of the Season From the stars to the slumps... who rates as your most disappointing player of the season? Few would say Fernando Torres set the world alight after his £50m move from Liverpool to Chelsea, but a player who moved in the opposite direction - Joe Cole - could lay claim to being an even bigger disappointment, especially arriving as he did with an "as good as Lionel Messi" billing. *Snigger*. Plenty of other candidates, though - Man Utd's Bebe, Robbie Keane for both Tottenham and West Ham, Mauro Boselli at Wigan, Blackburn owners Venky's... this one could be a right ol' tussle couldn't it?

Maybe they have a bad batch to get rid of.

Please can you lay off them for the next few hours? We all know what you think of them and the rest of us don't have a much if at all higher opinion of them but the thing that matters is the team and the club and I don't really - though I know I don't speak for everyone here and there may be some who hang on your every word even today - need to hear about the faults and failings of our owners. Time for that after today's game and the fall out from it.

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Venky's.. we have dodged the bullet caused by your rash stupidity...PLEASE learn from this lesson and fast!! You can redeem yourselves,we dont want to go through this again.
Mercer Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Venky's.. we have dodged the bullet caused by your rash stupidity...PLEASE learn from this lesson and fast!! You can redeem yourselves,we dont want to go through this again. Spot on and in a nutshell!
Rovermatt Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 We're lucky to have survived and the results in the last four games have been encouraging. That said, our staying up should not be taken by the owners as a validation of Kean or any of their other decisions. The latter part of the season would have been totally avoidable if Venkys had managed the running of the club in a sane, responsible manner. We've pulled ourselves from the fire this time, but we could be in deep trouble by the end of September if big, sensible decisions are not made over the summer months.
Stuart Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Venky's.. we have dodged the bullet caused by your rash stupidity...PLEASE learn from this lesson and fast!! You can redeem yourselves,we dont want to go through this again. We might not get the chance to save ourselves on the last day though. It may be that Kean could still have a role as first team coach as part of an experienced management team (a la Sbragia) but would/could another manager work with him given the direct relationship he has with Venkys? It's still not the time for protests and for now we really should enjoy still being a Premier League club for another season but something needs to change before next then. I did note with interest that the Raos were at Molineux today - perhaps they are getting the bug. But it's now time for them to follow through on their promises. For once.

That's right Jisty but matters need to change right here, right now. This club needs to move forward and up,we need clear leadership on ALL level's to regain the respect we once had as a club. There are some MASSIVE decisions to be made this close season and they need to be the right ones. We are better than this awful season,a proud old club with great support for the size of town,we need to get back on track not struggling with the dollopers, like you say, lets hope Venky's can deliver....they have won some time to reverse the damage and regain supporter faith. Listen, observe, take good reliable advice and LEARN.
Mc Love Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I am looking forward to their next press statement! One things for sure - Kean/Kentaro/SEM/need to go. I wouldnt mind Kean staying on as a coach but he cant be involved in decisions. Hopefully with the Raos buying their holiday home near Rovers things will be ok
Blueboy Downunder Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 right, by the time that next season starts, they would have had almost a year to sort their ###### out. now we have survived they need to show us why they have always said "trust us"......so now you can get your act together and lets see for next season.
