We're lucky to have survived and the results in the last four games have been encouraging. That said, our staying up should not be taken by the owners as a validation of Kean or any of their other decisions. The latter part of the season would have been totally avoidable if Venkys had managed the running of the club in a sane, responsible manner. We've pulled ourselves from the fire this time, but we could be in deep trouble by the end of September if big, sensible decisions are not made over the summer months.

How were we lucky? I'd say we were unlucky more recently than vice versa.

My message would be, seeing as you are in the country how about bobbing into the Fans Forum tomorrow night?

Nice gesture from the Rao's to give us the £10 vouchers, only problem was that Wolves ran out of food just after half time so I got bugger all and so did plenty of others.

They did make a nice bit of confetti though ;)

Not forgetting they also paid £13 of your ticket

We gambled on appointing a rookie manager when there was no need to do so, and we only made ourselves safe on the last day. We went on such a winless run that it could not be down to luck alone.

I'd say we've gotten away with it thanks to a large slice of luck.

I thought the table never lied?

8 points in the last 4 games wasn't luck, we were unlucky it wasn't 12

After the crap they've brought down on our beloved club I expect a free season ticket for life.

I just turned on skysports news, and venkys were being interviewed, however I had the tv on mute so didn't catch what they speaking about.

Could anyone enlighten me?

Apparently next year, we'll win the league.

Again........

Here's my message to venky's

P.I.S.S. O.F.F.

At the end of the day we only finished 3 points behind Bolton,Newcastle and Stoke. All of whom were said to of had great seasons!

At the end of the day we had to go to Wolves to avoid the drop. Great result and performance but we can't live on our nerves like that again. Totally unnecessary.

Dear Venkys,

In your short time as owners of Blackburn Rovers, you have faced numerous decisions. Some of these have been dealt with in a fashion that most fans accept and agree with, however there have also been some poor decisions on your part.

Sacking Sam Allardyce was a huge decision, and you have been lucky that we have not been relegated. At the same time, subsidising tickets, giving free food and also the loan deals for Roque Santa Cruz and Jermaine Jones (which have both cost you significant amounts of money), have been a welcomed changes.

You now have the opportunity to invest over summer. If you wish to keep Kean as manager, it is entirely your choice. You are, afterall, the owners. However, with Kean at the helm this season we have only just stayed up. To achieve your dreams you will have to invest further money for new players, and also in my personal opinion a better back room team.

If you choose not to invest and keep the current staff, again, that is your choice. However personally I think we'll be relegated if that happens.

Either way, I will always be a Blackburn Rovers fan. And because of that, my ticket will be renewed each year.

Message to Venky's is the thread title............................I have one message.

Get hold of some video footage of the concourse area at half time yesterday - lots of us have some - and you'll understand what this is all about. The outpouring of emotion, unbridled joy, tears of relief and happiness was astonishing.

We know you don't understand football, you don't understand the fans and probably don't understand what you have bought into. One minute, just one minute, spent in the joyful mayhem of the concourse at half time would explain it all. I don't think any fan wants to be against your ownership, it's just there is something so strong, so important in our club that when it is threatened we will defend it in anyway we can.

Find a video.........................

No, no beers.

I have bitten my tongue in recent weeks, but the season ended at 5:50 yesterday and so did my tongue biting.

We have been very frivolous with our money in January and as things stand our wage bill which we had cutback to about 80% of turnover must now easily be back up at 90%, RSC (90K) Jones (not cheap) + new contracts. Apparently we are about to get our biggest budget ever and given we have also handed out new improved contracts to most of our players I want to know who is paying for all this and how the hell they think we can afford these mega signings, long term. They aspire to Europe and with the financial fair play rules coming will we meet them as you can't spend more than you earn? We have no shirt sponsor for next season and yet they have said we will get the biggest and best one ever, where is it?

January - apparently almost 7-8 million on agents, with us spending about 5 on transfer fees??? When did agents start getting 100% of fees and so on?

I doubt we spent that on agents in 3 years or so previously. They spent the next three years money for transfers in January and if we are getting a mega budget will we spunk another 10-20 million on leeches????

How is this budget to be funded? Pompey style? Personally by them? A loan? Who knows with this lot and that's the issue even if they say it's not against the club I won't believe it until I see it in black and white, through the accounts. Alas if it is the first option that will be too late.

So far it's all been hollow words, stupid statements of champions league and hiding like cowards from the fallout of their decisions.

I await with batted breath on what they will do next and am willing to change my views, but not after a poxy 4 games, because they have come in and ruined the season. As people are saying we could very easily have finished in European places this season, so surely if that was the goal, patience over decisions like Sam was warranted? It would also have allowed Kean a pre-season to change things and not during as he made the rookie mistake of changing it all (Even I know you can't do this and Kean should as well).

At the end of the day they managed to somehow keep us in this league, but all they have done is put partly right the wrongs they created. Long road back in my eyes and a mega budget being spent with them, proven liars it's a long road for them in my eyes....

THIS IS MY MESSAGE TO VENKYS, MEET US THE FANS ALA JW AND TALK TO SOME OF US, BECAUSE IF CAN'T GET THE FANS ALL ONSIDE IN THE MAIN, YOU'RE DOOMED AT ROVERS. IMAGINE HOW THAT WILL REFLECT ON YOU IN INDIA... OH THE SHAME....

Great post Maji, absolutely nailed it, I do hope Venkys take notice, yet somehow I dont think they will, more importantly, can they, as owners really convince the young talented players at Rovers, of a successful future at Ewood given the lies and garbage they have continually spouted since taking over the club, this for me should be the main criteria because, however much is spent, we would really struggle to replace Samba,Phil Jones and Hoillet and the cost would be immense!

I personally think Sambo will go and wants out. I think there's a decent chance Hoilett will stay beyond the January transfer window but we'll be tested if he continues to progress. I think he would have gone this summer under the old regime. Any speculation about Phil Jones is just that, we have always been a soft target for the tabloid rags.

If Samba and Hoilett go will this be another stick to beat the new owners with? I wouldn't be at all surprised. There is a certain element amongst our support who would choose to conveniently forget decades of losing our best players.

This is the clincher for me, loads are chatting about who we should sign and yet losing Samba and Hoillet would cripple us. I can't see jones leaving this summer, he's playing in defence here and week in week out, I can't see him wanting to be a bit part players like smalling. Hoillet though I remain unconvinced he wants to stay, he has never said he does and we didn't tie him down asap, when it's been clear for ages he's a player.

Samba's been harping on about leaving all season and even a new contract hasn't shut him up. I too think Samba will go and to Arsenal as it's been flying round for a while now and he's exactly what they need. But what a hole it would leave us, all our set-pieces revolve around him and his defending tail end has been immense. Replacing him will be a very difficult job and don't forget almost everytime a high ball is played in who's the man on the end of it?

Samba.

How about we leave the tarring of people until somethings actually happened?

To be fair to Venkys as much as I want them to meet the fans it's not a normal thing to do JW was brilliant but he wasn't the owner and the previous owners rarely met the fans from what I know.

Good to see them at the game yesterday and at West Ham, hope to see them more at Ewood next season

No it's not normal, but it was little things like that that made us a better club than most, JW understood that fans are an important part of a club like ours as we don't have 1000's waiting for season tickets. Now we look like becoming another faceless footballing cash cow that just ignores it's own supporters, support won't last long from people if they don't start talking to us and honestly.

It makes me laugh they won't come to home games and only seem to attend away matches, what are they afraid of? It's as pathetic as sacking JW and running home before announcing it, have the strength of your convictions Venky's and stand by your decisions and show your face at Ewood asap next season preferably the first home game of pre-season. I wonder whether they worry that if they attend a home game, the crowd will start Venky's out chants and the such and I'm sure that would filter back to India and give them bad press. I have no time for people who make decisions and are not willing to face the consequences of their actions and just hide.

For me those are the actions of spineless people and spineless people rarely succeed. If there's a valid reason fine, but I struggle to believe there is given there attendances away from home tail end of the season.

They or one of their representatives would only have to do it once and then it could be filtered back on here, instead they'll just do what they seem to do to resolve issues, throw money at it ala cheap tickets and some free grub. Not enough for me I want knowledge and answers and to see them show some backbone, Tris would be perfect he's had many dealings at Rovers previously and more importantly fans would believe a fellow fan and if they could create a very positive impression via something like a lot more fans would start to follow. But they won't they are cowards and we are just slumdogs in their eyes....

I think you have made the mistake of thinking that you actually matter.

I don't think Jack did what he did for you either, he did it for himself (with the caveat that by doing what he did he made a lot of people happy). Do you think most fans think of Blackburn as a family club? In my experience they think of the way we "bought" the title.

We were one of the clubs that first benefitted from a benevolent owner. I don't see us as being fundamentally different than any other team. You sound slightly crazy about all this. Change is difficult and some people struggle more than others. But hoping things go back to how they used to be is effectively p****** in the wind.
