It should have been, the fee was agreed by 2 companies - but rejected by the owners due to the type of companies. One of which was a betting company.

They have been touting the deal in India and I think someone mentioned on here last week that we had been entertaining some big companies recently?

Much of Venky's India ltd investments are in various funds with HDFC.

It wouldn't make sense for an Indian bank who have no branches in the UK to sponsor an English team who doesn't get much global coverage compared to other teams in the division.
