Daje Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Judging only by that picture I think it's the best looking kit we've had for a very, very long time! As for the sponsor, something red and white like the McEwans of the good old times would look good I think. Don't know why so many wants kingfisher or cobra, they're really poor beers with no taste.
JAL Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Looks good ! Regarding the away kit, why didnt the owners pick the Indian national colours for the Rovers away kit.
Amo Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Looks nice and simple. Hopefully a garish sponsor won't ruin it.
Hughesy Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Regarding the away kit, why didnt the owners pick the Indian national colours for the Rovers away kit. Because the old regime picked this coming seasons kits Maybe next year

chaddyrovers Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I like the new away shirt. not that bother about a sponsor tbh. if we do get one then hopefully it will have a good logo
Amo Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Is it possible to order a custom shirt without a sponsor? If so, does it cost more?
keaney23 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 We would actually be better off without a sponsor as that looks nice. Retro style would only be ruined by a modern logo!
Mc Love Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 The shirt looks very well. Will be making a purchase, hopefully what ever sponsor we get wont spoil it. Its a bad state of affairs if nobody wants to sponsor a premier league team though
Amo Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Its a bad state of affairs if nobody wants to sponsor a premier league team though Isn't it a case of Venky's holding out for more money? I believe WBA did the same last season.
Andy Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I like that shirt a lot - might even have to buy one this year.
brian_gallagher85 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Not one negative comment...is this really BRFCS As long as there's no box it should look very smart.
Mc Love Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Not one negative comment...is this really BRFCS As long as there's no box it should look very smart. Dont be getting too comfortable, I am sure they will somehow find a way to fcvk things up
Stuart Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Maybe this wasn't too far off the mark after all... albeit the back colours are reversed. I like it but I echo the sponsor needs to be right. Wonder if Venkys will keep their own logo after the Asia Cup rather than leave it blank - if they can't get a sponsor.
LeChuck Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Is it possible to order a custom shirt without a sponsor? If so, does it cost more? I really doubt it. Part of the value to sponsors is that anyone buying a replica kit will become a walking advertisement.
Ricky Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Interestingly though jisty looking at the inside of the neck on the front view of the shirt it does look like the blue on the back is on the same side as the front. It looks a little darker. Looks like that was spot on.
JAL Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 This could be a good money spinner for the club in allowing the fans the opportunity to purchase not one but TWO types of home shirt. One with the sponsors name on, and one without, the choice is yours, maybe some fans would buy both who knows, thus, if they did, it would increase sales of the home shirts.Just a thought.
Amo Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I really doubt it. Part of the value to sponsors is that anyone buying a replica kit will become a walking advertisement. Oh. I swear someone on here said you could. Must have dreamt it.
Gumbi Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Love the new shirt. I see they used last seasons socks with the kit. My guess is that the new socks will be blue with red at the top.
Backroom Tom Posted July 10, 2011 Backroom Posted July 10, 2011 I like it personally. Pic of the back here
Gumbi Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Another picture of the shirt. This time from the back. Shows the new keeper top too.

cruz Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I'm unsure and would need to see a better picture of it. Though it matters not as I've not bought the last 4 shirts
cn174 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Oh. I swear someone on here said you could. Must have dreamt it. In theory we could release it without a sponsor as it isn't a requirement, but what Lechuck is saying is that part of what sponsors are paying for is so that their logo is on every shirt of people walking around. So if we've already released it it may be (even) harder to get a sponsor as they've missed out on that advertising opportunity. I think I mentioned this already but a couple of years ago Wigan rugby released their shirts sponsor-less as they hadn't got one yet. When they did get a sponsor you could take your shirt to the Wigan shop and get it ironed on - I very much doubt many people bothered!
