CaliRoverNYC Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Is the home kit the same thick "dri-fit" material that the away kit was last season? or is it the thinner lighter material of the first few umbro kits?

Hughesy Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Got mine yesterday too. Quality shirt, not sure if il take it back for sponsor or not yet
Amo Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I wouldn't mind having a name on the back, but who? I think i will wait a bit and see who is coming or going. I opted out of a name. It'll make the shirt that little more timeless.
Backroom Tom Posted August 14, 2011 Backroom Posted August 14, 2011 Got mine yesterday too. Quality shirt, not sure if il take it back for sponsor or not yet I was going to but now I'm not sure, it sounds silly but somehow wasn't enough red for a red sponsor it seems to have a pointless outline
Stuart Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I was going to but now I'm not sure, it sounds silly but somehow wasn't enough red for a red sponsor it seems to have a pointless outline Agreed. It was so pale it was barely visible on the shirts (from where I sit) and the outline doesn't help. The LT was right when they showed the picture of Dunny holding the shirt up as to what it might look like. Shame really because the mock-up looked good.
Stuart Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 It's like someone forgot to peel off the plastic after ironing it on!
Eddie Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Also thinking about ordering the 89/90 retro shirt at the same time...what sort of material is it?
Stuart Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Same as the bet24 one really, Eddie. Strange the way the colour of the sleeves 'overlap' into the body of the shirt. You'll know what I mean when you see one in the flesh. Not bad, just odd.
Hughesy Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I was going to but now I'm not sure, it sounds silly but somehow wasn't enough red for a red sponsor it seems to have a pointless outline Yeah the mock up looked like a red sponsor which was quite clear, the one on the kit looked pink.
Iceman Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 could hardly make out the print, too light. Needs to be a bit darker, or red.
njtilford Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 If I buy the shirt from jd would I still be able to get the sponsor put on if I choose too?
Josh Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 If I buy the shirt from jd would I still be able to get the sponsor put on if I choose too? I don't think so
Roverdale Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 The material is more lightweight than the away kit of last year.. its not stretchy like some kits. The blue is much paler than last season. We have a player called GOODWILLIE and some people aren't opting for that haha.. most expensive banter I've partaken in lately.
CaliRoverNYC Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 The material is more lightweight than the away kit of last year.. its not stretchy like some kits. Thats a shame, last years kit was really nice quality, but this one is pretty enough that i'll get it anyways... No sponsor and either a number 10 or a number 9 with no name.
Henwah Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Away kit just arrived, top is quite loose fitting compared to recent ones, and the sleeves continuing into the main part of the shirt is odd (as someone mentioned earlier), don't mind it though either. Black version of the sponsor logo would make the shirt look a lot better, so if it's definately gonna be red I'll stick to blank Thought I'd seen a yellow stripe down each side of the shorts in the pics but apparently not! The socks are decent quality.
eddiewac Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Does it come with the normal post or separately? would save me stopping in for a parcel thats not coming again!
Henwah Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Does it come with the normal post or separately? would save me stopping in for a parcel thats not coming again! It came separately, I got a letter about 15 mins later. Still royal mail delivery though (I think - was still half asleep and trying to keep my dog in who was poking his head through my legs in an attempt to lick the delivery man whilst I signed for it).
eddiewac Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 cheers, just rang Rovers, said it comes separately and should be here by tomorrow, so much for "next day"
Amo Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 cheers, just rang Rovers, said it comes separately and should be here by tomorrow, so much for "next day" Yeah, I ordered mine on Saturday but it hasn't come yet.
Henwah Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Yeah, I ordered mine on Saturday but it hasn't come yet. Weird, I ordered mine Sunday! Though it might be cos I'm probably the only person who's bought the away kit, so they sent it quickly before I regained my eyesight and changed my mind!

SamTheShrew Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Mine has 47 minutes to arrive before I ring up and demand a refund! If I had my way I would rather not pay the £5 next day delivery, I don't mind waiting 3 or so days. But out of principle now, the clock is ticking!
80s russ Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Does anyone know if the red training gear as worn by our managers/trainers etc will be released to buy? Thanks
