Jimmy612 Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Souness without question. So what you're saying is, you would appoint Souness over the man who had this exact squad in 10th place last season, and then continued the good work up until an unjust sacking? You would appoint Souness for him to go through the trial of meeting all of the players, learning their strengths and weaknesses, and having to find a correct formation, plus meeting all of the backroom staff, instead of saying to SA, just come back with the players that you know, and keep us up. This is the most ridiculous thread of all time. Even the Sam haters must see that the only course of action would be to say, come back to the squad you know well and try to keep us up. Its only for the last 5 games remember. Of course some plonkers on here would re-appoint him, only for him to save us and then sack him at the end of the season.

rebelmswar Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Well innocent until proven guilty Give him time.
M-K Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Ray could bring satan up with him when he returns, to do a deal that turns Keith Andrews into the best midfielder the world has ever seen.
Guest BRs4LIFE Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 The Venkys owners bought the football club to launch thier business profile. With millions of pounds to dispose of and the clever connections of messrs Jerome Anderson (SEM) its obvious that they are business people, and hugely successful at that exploiting the "naivity" of the Indian business owners-falsely roped into buying the club as a way of enhancing their reputation by the Jerome Anderson team. Its Jerome Anderson that needs to be got rid, only the Anderson team can be sacked and replaced, in time, if this happens then BRs will flourish back to where they were pre Kean. Its clear for all to see that Jerome Anderson has run the club to its fall, draining all he could out of the owners for what he could get, a £1500 per week salary (if that) his 20 yr old son Myles Anderson is currently on (that cant even break into the first team at Aberdeen) and yet to stand to earn anything from £5k - £20k per week next season regardless whether the BRs survive relegation. Thats criminal in itself, whats next? well to be honest Jerome Anderson has made all he probably can. Do we need to keep on at the Venky owners here or really understand that football at the top flight is a business and when handed into the wrong hands, there will always be catastrophic results. There is talk about new management taking over but will the Venky sell if BR is relegated? is the real question as they stand to lose an estimated £100 million which includes ticket sales, merchandise and TV sponsorship etc. The media in India are very complimentary of the Venkys investment in BRs (if only they knew the truth) but then again you can buy the media over there! Rumour has it that a British born Indian that has footballing experience and dealings with professionals at both player and manager level (PremierLeague) is in discussion with the owners and has the passion to spearhead a revival like no other. What gain would that have?

And probably the most ridiculous reply of all time , except for Vinjay that is

SOEY ,CUP WIN, EUROPE ETC OR SAM TUMBLEWEED.

m1st Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 In this hypothetical game [isn't it one we might all have played, sitting round a pub table before a game in the pre-Internet era?], Sam. I say that not just because he knows the strengths and weaknesses of most of the current squad; but I also think he could get them to focus on the fact that we're still 16th, two points away from the relegation zone and with significantly the best [5 goals is a pretty hefty distance from the next best at this stage of the season] goal difference of the bottom 5 teams. Then, if Sparky could be persuaded that Venky's purse strings for next season weren't going to be as tightly pulled together as the Trust's used to be , . . .
FourLaneBlue Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I'd even take Paul Ince over Kean. The man really is that useless. Incredible that Sam was sacked just to put in charge the bloke who carries the bibs.
Waggy76 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Kenny Dalglish , the players would run through a brick wall for him....The guy is a genius ...
tony gale's mic Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Just for 5 games, I'd pick Sam. Hughes was better in the transfer market than Sam, but Sam was better at working with a limited squad.
Wild Irish Rover Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Bring back Jim Iley. Or Jim Smith. Ken Beamish said he was the best he ever worked with, when I was talking to him the other day. Or Bobby Saxton. Or that Dalglish bloke. He was proper tidy, nobody could understand what he said, but he got results.
steverovers Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 ANYBODY to replace Kean from the original list. My first choice would be King Kenny. Imagine him walking through the door and the immediate impact he would make to the fans and players! Sam would be my second choice - he knows the squad and would probably get us the points we need by returning to HIS type of play.
Brfcrule1 Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 It would have to be Sparky for me although I am grateful to Big Sam & what he has done I don't think I could even bring myself to this board if Sam was re-appointed imagine the boards full of hoofball at lezst Sparky knew how to play football
Backroom Tom Posted April 23, 2011 Backroom Posted April 23, 2011 Thinking about it pretty much any would do, we realistically only need 2 wins to be safe I fancy any manager would provide a bit of a bounce and pick them up. I still think 4 points in the next 2 games see's us close.
Steve Moss Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 1. Sam as he knows the squad and would best employ them withinthe few weeks left. 2. Hughes as he knows some of the squad and would have a fast learning curve. 3. Dalglish because he's brilliant and it would torpedo Liverpool.
AHoyle90 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Sam to keep us up on a short term deal, then bring in Sparky and supply him with cash for the window!
