old darwen blue Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Alan Shearer or Don Martin Only one correct answer, Al.
sambo Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Ashley Ward Still have nightmares over his array of misses v United in the relegation game. I was 7 and it hurts still!
Brfcrule1 Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 There's only one former striker I would have at a time like this when things are so bleak & the chant goes "There's only one Matt Jansen one Matt Jansen" anyway would have Jansen before the crash.
mode_m Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Jon Stead and if we could have two strikers he would be paired with Kuqi
BangkokRover Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Can only be Alan "Goal Machine" Shearer 138 Appearances for Rovers and 112 goals. Of course Kean would probably not pick him
chris Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 If we had Alan Shearer I think we could still achieve a top 4 finish this season I want a 26 year old shearer too
Andy Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Shearer was quite simply the best and most complete forward we've ever been lucky to see at Ewood. I used to go to every home & away match when we had Shearer and you just knew that 1) he was going to score every week and 2) we were most likely going to pick up at least a point. I've only seen a bit of him, but the young lad Wickham at Ipswich has got a bit of raw Shearer about him.
Backroom Tom Posted April 23, 2011 Backroom Posted April 23, 2011 These are getting silly now, Shearer is the obvious answer, the complete package. Off to make the topic 'If you could have any ex physio for the last five games who would it be?'
OJRovers Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Kevin Davis (if you say they would be in their current condition) (actually, in that case i'd take Bellamy)

Off to make the topic 'If you could have any ex physio for the last five games who would it be?' Mine would be Miss Martin from middle school, I may have been only 11 but I swear she brushed my nob when she was treating my twisted ankle durring a 11 a side game. She was fit.
MeanGreenMachine Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Not one mention for Andy Cole? Shearer hands down, but Andy Cole is up there with him.
Stuart Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Santa Cruz. He owes us big time. We aren't getting any other former strikers this season so set up the team to give Roque as many chances as possible and hope for a 1-0 win.
chris Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Not one mention for Andy Cole? Shearer hands down, but Andy Cole is up there with him. problem is there is no competition for Shearer, if the question was excluding Shearer wh would you have it would get interesting. Shearer was just too good.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Shearer. At Rovers he was the complete striker.
Amo Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Take away the time-machine, otherwise the topic's a no-brainer. I'd take Bellamy.
patrickvalery Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Write a list, get a drawing pin, close your eyes and take a stab. Chances are any one of them would be a big help. Shearer aside and considering the way we play, Chris Sutton would be a great shout. Could probably still manage a shift even now! Would shame pretty boy Santa Cruz at the moment.

Sutton wasn't there for us in 1999, his injuries are why we got relegated, if he was fit and Gallacher we would have never gone down.
Backroom DE. Posted April 23, 2011 Backroom Posted April 23, 2011 The really is no other realistic answer than Shearer. Nobody else compares.
