I have just got a new PC and I have not had access to PC gaming for years. Does anyone have any classics that I should be playing.

I have been told Half Life 2 is excellent. But surely there should be more?

I have clocked up over a year online on WoW (but I'm clean now, only logged about 20hrs since cata launched, probably not played at all in about a month).

The game where you control a hospital and I believe there's one where you control a Zoo, kinda like Sims. What a game

Battlefield 2 what a game :tu:

Sims I have never played that I always thought it was for girls :P

Sim City 4 checked that out on IGN and that really looks good.

Football Manager already playing FM2010 and loving it :)

I liked Dawn of War.

Monkey Island (I just started it again, yes I know its old.)

Empire Total War is good.

Europa Universalis 3 is bangin.

WOW you must have invested in some serious hours in those games. Not exactly things you can have a quick game off. But I have checked them out on Google and they do look very good. :tu:

The whole Total War series is excellent (Shogun might be a bit old by now though...Rome is arguably the best, though haven't played Empire yet as my PC won't take it I think). I'd also recommend any of the Civilization or Red Alert games. Oh and I very much enjoyed the Quest for Glory anthology, though the first two are veeery basic graphics now. But that (had the first four games) and Civ 2 ultimate edition both cost me a tenner, and are probably the most cost effective tenners I ever spent. If you discount the way they sapped my youth away.

I have just got in to Steam and I have ordered CIV IV and all its add-ons as it was very cheap. While most people play pirate games here in Thailand I like to reward the companies for producing good games. With all the dross that is out there I am not surprised most people pirate games.

While I love the CIV game they are are a serious time killer. Which is great when you have plenty of free time. Talking to time killers I have heard so much about WOW just munching hours with the grind I have always been to scared to stall the game

I loved all the LucasArts graphical adventures of the day. All 3 Monkey Islands, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and Full Throttle. All can be relived on pretty much any device through ScummVM.

Sierra did some pretty good ones (Space Quest, Police Quest and Leisure Suit Larry) but not really a patch on LucasArts. Although in my adolescent days I did enjoy Leisure Suit Larry.
