First and foremost, a very, very important win for us. It probably means we're going to stay up, assuming we manage to stop one of WHU & Wolves from beating us. Bolton were very, very poor today. They really struggled to get going today and never really threatened us. Our goal was a result of mainly awful defending by Bolton, and a clean finish from Olsson.

Olsson was probably our best player based solely on his goal and contribution in the first half. An industrial performance from Jermaine Jones, a solid enough defensive display from our back line and a special word to Salgado who was great before his unfortunate injury.

On the other end of the scale, we were shocking in front of goal, bad at set-pieces and had numerous counter attacks which we endeavoured to squander at every opportunity. Our lack of quality is apparent and disappointing - let's hope our owners dig deep into their pockets in the summer should we stay up, we need a desperate injection of genuine quality asap to compliment players like Olsson (who needs to work on his crossing), Phil Jones and Junior. If we stay up this season I do not want to have to suffer through Jason Roberts lumbering around at the top of the pitch again next season, nor do I want to see Emerton dallying on the ball or attacks breaking down because our players lack the awareness to pass quickly.

Job's not done yet, but we're nearly there now. Results have mostly gone our way today again... we should have enough now to scrape survival. Let's just hope we can put in some good away performances to end the season on a relative high.

We lack so much quality its ridiculous

these players of ours are incapable of playing this sport. It's like they have two left feet. Sorry but it's just not acceptable.

Commentators described Blackburn as very disappointing.

How true.

Anyone would think we don't practise shooting in training

It's incredibly disheartening watching this team run around with not a single player with the confidence or skill to attempt or even actually finish.

Amazing. We've just won our first match in what seems like aeons, in possibly the most important game in years, and yet people complain. Effin' fantastic stuff, lads. This was never going to be a pretty game, but it was CRUCIAL to get three points, no matter how we acquired said points.

We'll just take the 3pts and be happy with that. Hope WHU lose to man city - which I expect. They would then be 6pts adrift, with 3 games left and a very bad goal average. Rovers could even be sending them down. If Rovers beat whu it would be over for them.

I think those 3 points will have kept us up, with our gd we have 39 effectively, horrible horrible game to watch but result that matters - pretty much how it was under allardyce lol a few of our players couldn't score in a brothel, Kally def added something when he came on

Thank $#%& for that.

Back four were solid. Thought JJ worked very hard and liked Zombi's game as well (except for his prowess or lack of in front of goal).

Thank God for Olsson who played Junior's role to perfection this week ...

As for the others ... if you haven't got anything nice to say ...

Can we play Bolton again next week?

Man....being a Blackburn-fan can't be good for your health! I'm a nervous wreck right now and can't quite believe the game is actually over and that we WON! In all fairness....with a decent striker in our line-up we should have won this by at least 3-0, but still...we won, got the 3 points and when this fact eventually connects with my brain I will award it alcohol in massive amounts :D Kept waiting/expecting Bolton to score with a fluke towards the end as that's how it usually goes when you can't put your chances away. Still...have a feeling we created more clear-cut chances today than we have in the last 5-6 games put together so can't really complain. Must be considered great value for money for what seemed like a great crowd at Ewood today.

Olsson was great in 1st half, thought J. Jones was massive in 2nd half, Salgado my man-of-the-match 'till his injury and also Phil Jones deserves to be mentioned. Emerton should only be backup for Salgado. Roberts & Benjani does a job holding up the ball but strikers that don't score can sod off when you're in a relegation battle. No need to point fingers at N'Zonzi and Mame for missing those sitters as we should've been 3 up by the time those chances fell to them....still....how Mame didn't score or at least put his shot at goal is beyond me....then again I've seen him play in Norway were he did miss more than he scored.

Pheew....still! 3 EFFIN POINTS! Now....all we have to do is beat ManUre at home and not lose to Wet Spam and Wolves and all will be roses & tandoori chicken. Enjoy the moment! I sure will! :rover:

Can;t understand all the whingeing - I thought style didn't matter.

It was sweat and experience that won this game today with a small touch of flair. First to everthing, never gave them a second on the ball, which is excatly what we wanted at this stage. Poor finishing but we are not blessed with clinical finishers.

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Feels so good to win, it felt like a cup final towards the end. All the minus points don't matter at all today the main thing is we won, for what its worth a few points

- Jermain Jones was fantastic, what a guy, he looked ruined at the end but never stopped.

- Olsson did really well apart from his final ball at times

- On the strikers once again I didn't think Benjani deserved to come off, I think it was due to one missed chance then the BBE chanted for Niko, straight away Kean changed it. I thought Niko did OK but no better than Benjani, he seemede to make the wrong decision like shooting from 25 yards instead of playing a man in, I would have liked to see Benjani and Niko together but it was obvious why Kean went with those 2 up top when you see Bolton play 3 man mountains at the back.

- Phil Jones I thought was poor, too many bad decisions, he will learn though. You could see the booking coming a mile off.

- Pedersen looked good when he came on, some nice passes

- Davies was lucky to stay on the pitch I'm sure he did a blatant handball when already on a yellow

So so relieved right now though and it feels great to celebrate a win I honestly thought we would let it slip when we missed chance after chance. We're not there yet but edged a little bit closer with that result today.
