you can't please some people,

good performance against City on Monday and people moan because we came away with nothing.

so called 'shyte' performance today resulting in three points and people moan.

brilliant win, another result and we're safe and can start looking forward to next season!

...and what the summer transfer window has in store for us!

Like I said in an earlier post, great that we won and all Rovers' fans should be delighted that it looks like we are safe now - I am ecstatic and will be celebrating in style tonight.

However, to me, it's a bit like post the Arsenal match and some are getting carried away.

Firstly, we played a very weary and demotivated Bolton (even Kean was rubbing his hands at the prospect of facing Bolton in their third game in six days) at exactly the right time.

We had a bit of luck, if their first half effort that hit the post had gone in then it would have been a different game, they gifted us our goal with a careless ball to Olsson, however, he made the most of it superbly, we looked shaky and nervous at the back (particularly first half) and, in the main, for the PL, the standard of football was appalling although I agree the wind didn't help.

But as for pushing for top six with open, attractive, passing football (Kean's job manifesto) then please do us a favour. Apart from maybe two moves from which we should have scored, the rest was very, very poor fayre.

Surely Kalinic has to start against West Ham, he look better than Roberts and Benjani by a mile.

Absolutely spot on.

Just got back from 2 week holiday in goa and missed todays game unfortunately . I do believe we may plan an escape now and remain a prem side . But serious sensible planning is required as to the direction our club aims to go . challenging times ahead ?

Wow! Massive win... great atmosphere from both ends of the ground... one of the best yet in the Darwen End.

Practically a sell out in home area's - only the odd empty seat dotted about. Would have hit 30k if Bolton had brought a decent following.

Well done to both players and fans today.

Tbf to bolton there was a distinct line where the bolton fans stopped above rovers fans, prob about 7 rows. But was a very good atmosphere from Rovers fans, was a time when Bburn End and Darwen End were very nearly in sync with Na na na na Rovers!

Thought the game wasn't great but who cares!!!! Get in Rovers!!!!

May I be the first to thank Zulu for his team's generosity.

This win is only tempered by the fact that Kean is still way, way out of his depth.

If we stay up, and today has gone a long way towards it - barring tomorrow's results, then we need to jettison SK and bring in an experienced man for next season. If not, it could be a very short one and this season's pain will have been for nothing!

Can always rely on good ol' Owen Coyle

Could have been a lot different had that Rodrigo kid not hit the post from about 4 yards out before we scored. Not much quality on show from either side but I think we just about edged it and deserved the win. Although the performance doesn't really matter at this point, just the three points will do very nicely. Huge relief at full-time for everyone I'm sure. Not over and done with yet but I feel one more win or two draws should make it almost certain.

Today wasn't about Kean or Venky's, it was about three vital points to keep us above water.

We got 'em and the rest is history.

I know what you are saying Topman but... If only that were true!

Great performerance today! The 3 points all that matters! Olsson looked very lively and could had scored a hattrick with a bit luck.

Against West Ham this team will roll them up:

Robinson

Emerton/Salgado, Samba, Jones, Givet

Hoilett, Nzonzi, Jones, Olsson

Kalinic, Benjani/Roberts

I think with two hardworking central midfelders and then Hoilett and Olsson doing the creative stuff this is the team at the moment.

What was going on near the main entrance in the JW stand? Police wouldn't let us walk past and we had to double-back on ourselves to walk down Bolton Rd ....

I overheard it was somebody arrested for spreading rumours. Police got involved when it got out of hand and people started believing them.

I could be wrong though...

for today and the next three games all that counts is results. does not matter if you play well or not its the results that count. A good win and lets leave it there.

however next season we need some new forwards and midfield players, but for now just keep on getting points

Robinson - had nothing to do really.

Salgado - good game until he went off injured, constant motivator for the whole team

P Jones - class, maybe a little over eager today with trying to win every ball. Will not be at Rovers next season. He is too good.

Samba - very good game, never put a foot wrong today on the defensive side of his game

Givet - steady as always

Ollson - Excellent, he is 110% a winger and not a left back

N'Zonzi - Excellent

J Jones - Fantastic

Emerton - Put a shift in

Benjani - had a stinker today

Roberts - had a stinker today

Subs:

Kalinic - awful as always

Diouf - should have bagged a couple, his pace was a constant threat

Pedersen - decent shift

Thank god we played a Bolton team that were already on the beach.

Haven't read any posts before and have had too much to drink to trawl through it all, but want to say having sat in the riverside for the game how fantastic our support was throughout the ground and how much it was the fans and the players that got us the points and not steve kean.

I'm by no means a Steve Kean fan but I think we have to give the guy sone credit here. It can't be all his fault when we lose yet all the players doing when we win. It's a two way street.

The team seemed a motivated, 'together' unit today which I feel the management team deserve some credit for.

Really? I think his history of poor management throughout his time here seems to indicate that it's far more likely it's the players who won us that game.

Put it this way - even with any of us in charge of Rovers, the team would win at least two or three games over the course of the season.
