savage8 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Would he stay/have stayed if Kean wasn't the manager?
slough_rover Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 He would have left regardless I feel. When arguably the biggest club in the world come in for you it is only a matter of time. Its not like hes leaving us for Villa or Everton.
toetoe Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Would he stay/have stayed if Kean wasn't the manager? Even of Mourinho was our manager he would have gone to United/Chelsea/Arsenal if they wanted him. That's just the way it is.
den Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Ah, back again. Right, someone tell me that MBD isn't part of the deal?
M-K Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 He's best off out of Rovers. What are the odds on Venkys reinvesting any of that cash?
broadsword Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Sad ... didn't want to lose him so early. I hope we keep Samba now. He was basically our one bright spot of this season and he's gone already. Awful.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm hearing a rumour that the bid is BELOW the release clause, but this is because we asked to have add ons included which would bump the final price ABOVE 16m. If true, shrewd.
BRFC95 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Ah, back again. Right, someone tell me that MBD isn't part of the deal? I've no doubt he will be, it's just a matter of how much cash is knocked off the 16M
modes98 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm hearing a rumour that the bid is BELOW the release clause, but this is because we asked to have add ons included which would bump the final price ABOVE 16m. If true, shrewd. BBC saying the total deal is around £17m. Depends on the clauses inserted but £16m straight cash now may have been more use then £15m + 2.5m after 20 england caps or something. Eitherway we I don't think we have done that badly out of it. I would have loved him to stay for another year and I think it would have done his career well, but if he can displace Rio then he has 10 years playing at the top. No mean feat.
roversinmyblood Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm hearing a rumour that the bid is BELOW the release clause, but this is because we asked to have add ons included which would bump the final price ABOVE 16m. If true, shrewd. As long as the add ons aren't related to selling him on as he wont be going anywhere once he is at Utd.
jimw1988 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Dissapointed to see him go, thought we could keep him for another season at least. Will only feature for united in carling cup and if ferdinand is injured! Will be bad if we lose samba and juniour too. An even bigger disaster if all the cash is not spent on new players!
Backroom Tom Posted June 8, 2011 Backroom Posted June 8, 2011 I'm not as upset as most seem, disappointed but understand the reasoning. I don't think he will be quite as big a miss as a lot think. We survived before him and will exist afterwards. I suppose united were still smarting from the reserve final defeat and wanted a stronger chance next season.
HemelRover Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Will only feature for united in carling cup and if ferdinand is injured! I can see RFW using him in midfield for a while. Get him used to his tema mates, playing in front of that massivly vocal support Utd have
imy9 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 A real shame but he wanted to go- 16 million spent wisely could push us on this season (trying to be optomistic)
cn174 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Sounds ominous... CryerRovers Andrew Cryer Blackburn still not commenting on Jones. Crazy situation from the club, I won't tweet what I was unofficially told
beerwins Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Sounds ominous... CryerRovers Andrew Cryer Blackburn still not commenting on Jones. Crazy situation from the club, I won't tweet what I was unofficially told So why mention it? Either say what you heard or it's pointless to let people's minds think the worst. We will have enough negativity on here after this.
SharrockDownSouth Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I can see RFW using him in midfield for a while. Get him used to his tema mates, playing in front of that massivly vocal support Utd have Can't we just loan him back? He's not going to get any games an Man U....
LeChuck Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Defenders are the most easily replaced players. Every other 'big' player we've lost in the recent past has been an attacking one, so it had a major impact. At this point I'd rather buy a left back with a bit of the money and go with Samba, Givet, Nelsen and Hanley as the centre backs. If Samba goes too then we'll obviously need a new centre back. Keeping Hoilett is now the biggest priority.
chaddyrovers Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 bye jones. enjoy playing for utd. I thought he might want to play at least another season for his hometown club. anyway, time for us to move on now. use the money from this deal plus out transfer pot before this and sign some very good players!
den Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Keeping Hoilett is now the biggest priority. I'll be amazed if that happens LeC.
Mattyblue Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Can't we just loan him back? He's not going to get any games an Man U.... No way! He's gone and I am just sick of the whole charade of the 'competition' we are allegedly in.
vyeo Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 He's best off out of Rovers. What are the odds on Venkys reinvesting any of that cash? I actually think they will reinvest most of it. But the problem is that Kean would be the one spending it. Please dont let kentaro near it.
