47er Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Rossi and piqué haven't done too bad. Forlan also had a pretty decent career post united didn't he Forlan was different int hat he had a rotten career while he was there! So have Phil Neville and Keiran Richardson, wonder if Heize and Stam were cast offs? or indeed RVN, Andy Cole etc!! RVN and Stam were only sold cos they fell out with Rfw. Not cast-offs at all.

Mattyblue Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I hate them for inserting clauses I hate them for not rolling over I hate them for not buying players I hate them because we are linked to poor players I hate them because to great players I hate them for saying we aren't a selling club I hate them for acting like we aren't a selling club I hate them for not showing loyalty to the manager I hate them for showing loyalty to the manager I hate them for saying too much I hate them for saying you little. Etc. Nobody hates them. Most are giving them a chance this summer, most know that Jones wanting to leave is not Venky's fault. so what was your point?
BuckyRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Nobody hates them. Most are giving them a chance this summer, most know that Jones wanting to leave is not Venky's fault. so what was your point? Tell that to den and 47er amongst others. Blaming them for inserting clauses and for saying we aren't a selling club. When it was obviously not in their control.
BangkokRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Rossi has done just OK? Well I am comparing Rossi to Roberts, RSC and Benjani so I think my comment is fair.
Moppy Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Robbie Savage? Wasn't he a youth team United cast off. Thought he did well for us personally.
philipl Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Kevin Gallacher is absolutely right- we have sold Phil Jones far too cheaply. I hate this deal.
BangkokRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Robbie Savage? Wasn't he a youth team United cast off. Thought he did well for us personally. The ultimate United cast off has to be David Plat. Kevin Gallacher is absolutely right- we have sold Phil Jones far too cheaply. I hate this deal. So the deal is done then?
den Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Tell that to den and 47er amongst others. Blaming them for inserting clauses and for saying we aren't a selling club. Lost your ability to read Bucky? I said anyone giving out release clauses on a regular basis, - whether it was Venky's or the trust, - can't argue with any real conviction that they aren't a selling club. Once the clause is inserted and it's signed, the club has no control over that player being sold.
A cup of beans Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 The ultimate United cast off has to be David Plat. peter beardsley is the ultimate.
BangkokRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 peter beardsley is the ultimate. Sure if you are a dentist but you can't argue Platt achieved more than Quasimodo
A cup of beans Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Sure if you are a dentist but you can't argue Platt achieved more than Quasimodo pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease! platt not fit to lace beardsley's boots! on the saga.. surely BPF can get the full story... from PJ or his family ??? fantastic that our owners are livid and trying to stand their ground. hell, even if its fragile ground, the least theyve acheived is stalling the deal and winding the manc scum up!
broadsword Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 What we really don't need is a legal dispute that goes on for weeks and deprives us of a player whilst not giving us any funds to replace him. Man Utd know this, and they also know they'll get the player in the end. They can afford to leave us twisting like a fish on a hook. They hold all the cards in this one. I can only assume that we'll let him go for £16m.

If it was as simple as you say, then there would be no point trying to stop the deal. We have to understand Venky's are extremely talented business people.
broadsword Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 You think PJ will refuse to play for Rovers? I'd go on strike if I was him.
Hughesy Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Anyone pay for the times online?? I dont so cant see it! Oliver whatever his name has something about the legalities of the move....
BangkokRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I'd go on strike if I was him. What rights does he have to go on strike? Supposedly the clause just lets him talk to clubs. Which Rovers have done, they seem quiet right to hold out for the value of the player.

When it was obviously not in their control. i can't speak for Den but that is a travesty of what I believe and what I've posted. I've used the "we are no longer a selling club" mantra to have a go at Kean who said it. I've never accused Venkys of putting clauses in contracts at all. You on the other hand have blamed the "Messiah " when you must know its the admin at the club who deals with these sorts of detail not the manager. I think you need to take a powder and have a long lie down---again.
pick32 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I would love to believe the rumors and think it went a little like this... SAF: Yeh ive bid 16million for phil jones can i talk to him now? KEAN: Yeh course. SAF: Ok he has agreed terms and passed his medical thanks. KEAN: His contract means he can talk to people for 16million doesn't mean we have to sell him for that we want 25mil, oh and were also sueing you for tapping him up Bye.
joey_big_nose Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Same rights as Robbie Savage did when he came to Rovers? Different situation though - Liverpool, United, CHelsea, SPurs, Man City and Arsenal all want him and have a lot of cash. I doubt PJ would be devastated if he ended up at the Emirates or Anfield. As far as I see it - if the contract story is right - Roves hold most of the cards.
JAL Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Kevin Gallacher is absolutely right- we have sold Phil Jones far too cheaply. I hate this deal. Totally agree, who ever has conducted this sorry affair has certainly sold Rovers short in more ways than one.
Hughesy Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 If we are really screwing them over the 'tap-up' or even the wording of the clause then Venkys:

Actually we hold all the cards newly signed 5 year contract, £16 mill only gives them the option to talk to the player, they have jumped the gun in not negotiating the price 1st. He has no grounds to go on strike either, unless greed and avarice comes into it! I hope the Venkies, having been bitten in public before, are having a right go at Manu over the approach and value, behind closed doors
