Anyone with football nous knows football clubs "leech" money but that has obviously come as a surprise to our owners. And to answer your question I expected someone to buy the club who had at least done a little homework on football in this country and how it operates but it is clear from the Jones transfer saga that Venky's did neither and neither have they learnt anything in the 6 months they have been in charge. Are they being badly advised on this transfer or are they ignoring advice and are simply stamping their feet over the release clause and are clueless about how the transfer market operates ? Who knows - but I sense the good name of Blackburn Rovers has again been lowered in the closed world of football by Venky's antics over the past few days,

I can't take anything you say seriously because you're weird enough to quote other members in your signature.

If anyone did their homework on how football works in England and still bought a club, I'd think they were insane. It seems to me it only survives by finding new suckers to milk dry.

From the Mail piece:

The Desai family, owners of Blackburn, underestimated the summer interest in Jones and his potential sale price and that is highly unfortunate; but their dispute should now be with their dozy football advisers, not a teenager who deserved the final say in where he plays next season.

Step forwards Jerome Anderson and own up?

You have to laugh at a large portion of the paper reports about this, they twist it so badly to make it look like Venkys are trying to bully 'poor old Man United' into a few more million. Pathetic really.

Are you suprised? The whole football culture in this country is so outrageously biased, that is their default mode.

Well lets hope that Venkys look at everyting involved in this saga and act against Jerome Anderson (if he is involved) and Kean.

This issue should grow, and grow, and grow, over the summer months as testiment to the idiots that are running and will ruin the club, if, they continue to make mistakes on this scale and magnitude.

Martin Samuel is an oxygen thief, his opinion depends on who's ass he is up that week.

What a surprise that the majority of papers are going down the line of United being in the right, I wonder why that is? Nothing to do with the fact that "Sir Alex" will probably ban them from his press conferences if they say anything else or refuse them access to his players.

I thought that the clause in Jones' previous contract was much lower than the current one. People need to think about what actually happens at a negotiating table, it isn't black and white, it is like playing cards and hoping you come out with the best hand. I very much doubt that Jones' agent had nothing to do with us offering a clause in his contract even if Jones is insisting they never wanted a clause.

This is going to be a long summer, with lots happening no doubt, but at the end of it 11 players wearing Blackburn Rovers shirts will walk out o the opening day at the start of another massive season for our football club.

People have the right to offer an opinion but some of the stuff coming out on here of late is just bitter nonsense with most having no substance other than "my sources tell me", if everything had happened that has "leaked" from the club then we would have been docked points by now, relegated as the players didn't want to play for Kean and god knows what else.

:rover: got a very intresting text from the uk yesterday, that lardarse tipped fergie off about jones,s clause in his contract :brfc:

By lardarse I presume you mean our esteemed former manager Mr Samuel Allardyce ?

I think the text is correct - Sam is good friends with old red nose and will have told him about the clause and encouraged him to bid.

What goes around comes around - Venky's sacked Sam for no good reason and now they are paying the price.

Except, who would have told Sam, when the new contract was issued, he had been away from the club almost three months!!!

Don't let facts get in the way of a good unsubstantiated attack on Venkys Kelbo, facts are not required when it comes to some people, just what they believe to be the truth. I personally don't have a clue what is truthful and what is not, but I don't have an agenda so won't be making claims on tittle tattle like most on here.

It saddens me where this board has gone, it is just bickering or point scoring these days, very sad.

Hmmm, a few possible suspects - also former employees ?

Speculation and opinion - without them there wouldn't be a messageboard.

Really depends on which paper you want to read and take seriously.

The Times take on things, is that the deal goes ahead at £16.5 M, but the 2 clubs have now agreed ad ons totaling 4.5M depending on appearances and united ability to win things.

If this is where we net out, I'd be satisfied with £21M for a defender.

And whilst im not exactly a supported of the new regime, they should be congratulated if they do end up with £21M for him.

Jeez - almost half the price they bought the club for!!

Not very esteemed if he gobbed of about a confidential clause,

Venkies should demand their payoff back

IMO rovers shouldnt be agreeing to a comprimise just yet. if LFCs 22M bid is correct.. (even if its mischief... thanks king kenny... love the guy even more now!)

i suggest spinning it out for another week or 2.

surely rovers have grounds for legal action..

commercially confidential information was leaked, allowing clubs to try and swindle ROVERS OUT OF A TRUE VALUE, and fergie tapped up PJ and his family in their home, before a bid was even lodged.

the mole will probably never be identified.

IMO its either.. someone closely connected to phil, or a man with a gripe against rovers- wishing to take revenge on the owners.

whoever leaked the info, should be public enemy number 1 for rovers fans.

Only problem with all this, the aforesaid confidential clause was written three months after Sam was sacked.

So the leak came from within Venky's/advisors. Or the player's agent?

I'd wager the latter. Any possibility it could have been the player himself?
