BlueWhiteDynamite Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Pj stealing the show tonight, making Chris Smalling look amaturish and none existant. On this performance Henderson 20Milll - no chance. Although D.Sturridge look a very good player.

Drakefyre Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Agreed - Jones looks like the only England player capable of taking on a man and running with the ball, which is disgraceful for all of the England midfielders.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Thought Jones was poor against Spain but has been very good tonight. United fans drooling on redcafe about his performance. And then he almost makes a huge mistake
Pedderz0912 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Yeah Phil looked very assured tonight, good with the ball also - Anyone feel Fergie may use him as a defensive midfield????? or any potential to send him out on loan???? very good player, future england captain - sadly missed and wish him well just hope he comes back HOME 1 day
waggy Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Yeah Phil looked very assured tonight, good with the ball also - Anyone feel Fergie may use him as a defensive midfield????? or any potential to send him out on loan???? very good player, future england captain - sadly missed and wish him well just hope he comes back HOME 1 day quality player and was always to good to stay with one of the 14 teams in the relagation fight every season,he is a centre half and will be as good a player as bobby moore, mark my words
Bobby G Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Good performance from him. He is dominant and Lucio-like when running with the ball. Will only get better next to Vidic and Rio.
Pete1981 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Quite a good article about his move http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2005290/Blackburn-owners-We-let-Jones-feared-harming-career-fighting-legal-battle.html?ITO=1490
imy9 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I could not work it out is it: 1. 16.5 million & 4 million add ons& 20% sell on. 2. 16.5 million & 20% add ons.
Hughesy Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I could not work it out is it: 1. 16.5 million & 4 million add ons& 20% sell on. This one 20% sell on from any profit of future sale....lets hope he becomes a hero in 2-3 years and City pay £100m for him!
imy9 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Superb deal for Rovers would you not agree Hughesy? If he goes for say 30 million we get a further 6 million, that's certainly possible.
JAL Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Superb deal for Rovers would you not agree Hughesy? If he goes for say 30 million we get a further 6 million, that's certainly possible. Its only superb if Rovers can bring someone in who's of the same or better quality. Definitely not as a stand alone deal far far from it .
imy9 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Its only superb if Rovers can bring someone in who's of the same or better quality. Definitely not as a stand alone deal far far from it . That goes for any deal, in that it's who you buy to replace someone, however would you not agree that our management has done a superb job in getting 20 million and a 20% sell on clause for Jones?
BuckyRover Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Is it 20% profit from sale or 20% sale? If it's the former and he went for £30m we would get £2.8m
tcj_jones Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Now that I've had a bit of time to reflect, £16m for a player of Jones' experience is a pretty good deal. Only, of course, if we see any of the money - and I have strong doubts that we will.
JAL Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 That goes for any deal, in that it's who you buy to replace someone, however would you not agree that our management has done a superb job in getting 20 million and a 20% sell on clause for Jones? NO ! You couldnt put a price on Phil Jones head because hes that good. The deal was and is very poor for Blackburn Rovers football club. To replace him will cost the club alot more than what ManU paid for him, including ALL the add ons.
imy9 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 So what you are saying is that our Phil is the best defender on the planet and should have been the world record fee for a defender? I can name at least a dozen defenders that are better than Phil and would cost considerably less- you need to watch more European football.

Bring them in then imy9 and i'll either agree or disagree with you. The point is can Rovers bring in better players than Phil Jones, if not, I hope you can begin to see where i'm coming from on the subject.
Amo Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 NO ! You couldnt put a price on Phil Jones head because hes that good. The deal was and is very poor for Blackburn Rovers football club. To replace him will cost the club alot more than what ManU paid for him, including ALL the add ons. ... The three young lads arent good enough Ollson, Hoilett and Jones. You're being far, far, far too kind on these lads. Having watched three and a half youth games, got to say, I cant see what Phil Jones has football wise ... You've become a joke, mate.
imy9 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 It can be argued JAL that as long as Samba stays then Jones leaving will not leave us any weaker at the back. Samba is more important to Rovers than Jones- it is essential we keep him- wait and see hey- I am confident we'll all be happy Sept 1st...ok I'll leave you out lol.

He's good but he's not THAT good in my opinion.
AggyBlue Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 He's good but he's not THAT good in my opinion. You've just rendered your opinions worthless
Backroom Tom Posted June 18, 2011 Backroom Posted June 18, 2011 You've just rendered your opinions worthless Why because I don't believe that he's so good that he's priceless as JAL said?
Amo Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 He's good but he's not THAT good in my opinion. JAL doesn't think Jones is that good. He's just using it as another excuse to sound off at the owners. He didn't see any potential in the guy and wrote him off prematurely, like he does with so many of our young players (Lowe, Hoilett, Olsson). But decided to jump on the bandwagon when anyone with half a brain could see Jones was quality.
Hughesy Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Jones wasnt 1st choice defender....Samba & Nelsen fit, he doesnt play centre back - fact! For midfield next season, we need midfielders not a defender.
