Steve Moss Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 A wannabe WAG who allegedly said she could be a 'proper' WAG now he had joined United and has aspirations to be a model. P. Jones being in thrall to his hormones might explain (and even excuse) a lot. In my opionion, he definetly needs a smarter and better class lady.
47er Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 THought JOnes looked fitter--definItely lost weight.
Nate Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Alan Hansen on BBC saying he thought Jones was mediocre at Rovers. But changed his mind, he thinks he is class at Man Utd.
blue/white Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Alan Hansen on BBC saying he thought Jones was mediocre at Rovers. But changed his mind, he thinks he is class at Man Utd. Hansen's an arsehole!
G Somerset Rover Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Was at a sun football event last night with Big Sam and apologies if it's been said already (I haven't been on here much this summer) but when Sam left Rovers he said he phoned Fergie and basically told him he had to sign Jones.

Well we all knew Fat Sam was a tosser. A wannabe WAG who allegedly said she could be a 'proper' WAG now he had joined United and has aspirations to be a model. She's fugly, so I can't see that happening.

Can't really blame him the way he was treat by Venky's. I'd much rather Jones went to United then any of the other big teams - SAF knows how to develop and nuture his young players and as long as Phil keeps his head screwed on, he'll be a massive player for them and win many trophies in the coming years. Good luck to him
Gav Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Can't really blame him the way he was treat by Venky's. What by being paid out thousands in compensation, poor Allardyce As for Jones, I’ve said my piece on him, a true Rover wouldn’t have jumped ship after 30 games no matter who came calling for his signature.
thenodrog Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Alan Hansen on BBC saying he thought Jones was mediocre at Rovers. But changed his mind, he thinks he is class at Man Utd. They want to bin Hansen, he's just a succession of cliches and platitudes these days. Obviously Mark Lawrenson is a better judge of talent. Last season he described Jones as a 'Rolls Royce' player. btw if it were me and based on their last years personnel I'd bin Hansen and Shearer straight off and make Lawrenson and Dixon the front two. Far more insightful.

Did he mention the C word to Fergie? ("Clause" ) Would answer a few questions which were being asked on here at the time PJ was sold ...
thenodrog Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Well we all knew Fat Sam was a tosser. Hows that again? Surely he can only be considered a tosser if Phil Jones bombs at Man utd.... and then it would be RFW and the plastics who would be calling him that. What by being paid out thousands in compensation, poor Allardyce As for Jones, Ive said my piece on him, a true Rover wouldnt have jumped ship after 30 games no matter who came calling for his signature. So thats that then. Phil Jones is not a true Rover in your opinion. Poor lad must be absolutely desolate. btw two - points in 5 mins for no reason other than it's me I assume. The only people on here are at the moment are Al,roversyoyo,John,Tom M,stpbrown. So c'mon, man up, who is it?

Edit: reputation,. not karma. Surprised your that bothered theno, not like you can be under the illusion people agree with you?
Amo Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Alan Hansen on BBC saying he thought Jones was mediocre at Rovers. But changed his mind, he thinks he is class at Man Utd. Hansen said much the same about Stevie Warnock before he went to Villa. Don't think his remit extends outside the top four.
Hughesy Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Hansen said much the same about Stevie Warnock before he went to Villa. Don't think his remit extends outside the top four. Think he's bad - read Sky sports preview with Jamie Redknapp - awful! According to him Robbo is decent, Samba if we keep him - but nobody else of any note......so basically didnt look at the progress Hoilett & Olsson made last season!!

Just don't agree with the post. A bit arrogant to believe that nobody could possibly have disagreed with you is it not?
jny Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Alan Hansen on BBC saying he thought Jones was mediocre at Rovers. But changed his mind, he thinks he is class at Man Utd. What? So mediocre that Man Utd were convinced enough to pay the highest fee for a teenage defender in history!? What's he going on as well? A couple of preseason friendlies and the Charity Shield game. Utterly ridiculous, yet again shoddy, pro "big team" sports journalism from the BBC. Good luck to Jones at United, though.
Billy Castell Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Hansen should stick to being a life size Captain Scarlet action figure.
jim mk2 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Phil Jones on the bench for United's first league match. Hope he gets splinters in his bum for the rest of the season.

jim mk2 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 This gets better. Vidic limps off and is replaced by ..... Jonny Evans. Unless he is injured Jones is at least No 4 in the starting line-up pecking order and possibly No 5 if Smalling is in front of him.

Unless he is injured Jones is at least No 4 in the starting line-up pecking order and possibly No 5 if Smalling is in front of him. That would be seriously bad news for Jones's development. Another season at Rovers would've been much more beneficial to him or moving to Liverpool where he would've got regular first team football.
