Mattyblue Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 'But he could have broken his pinky playing for Rovers and he might have never got the chance again' etc etc

BuckyRover Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 That would be seriously bad news for Jones's development. Another season at Rovers would've been much more beneficial to him or moving to Liverpool where he would've got regular first team football. The funny thing is that he would probably rather be sat there. At least he has a chance of getting a place at the euros
Ossydave Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 It's ok at least he'll get plenty of time playing in the carling cup
Stuart Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Whilst I have no desire to see either Jones succeed at MU or become a spectacular flop (it'd be worse seeing him lining up for Stoke in 18 months time), I'm not sure I can really blame him for leaving Rovers in the current circumstances.

Come on, Jisty. He would have bailed on us even if we qualified for Europe last season.
BuckyRover Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 It's a shame he couldn't come and say that it was a factor in his decision.
Backroom Tom Posted August 14, 2011 Backroom Posted August 14, 2011 The highlight kid gets a chance as rio is now injured as well.
Stuart Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Come on, Jisty. He would have bailed on us even if we qualified for Europe last season. Well, maybe. But he may just have been a lot closer to the writing on the wall. I see he's on the pitch now...
Stuart Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 It's a shame he couldn't come and say that it was a factor in his decision. Damn those gagging orders!
Ossydave Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Ferdinand shouldn't even be a first teamer anymore they have much better options
Backroom Tom Posted August 14, 2011 Backroom Posted August 14, 2011 Jones showing why I think he'll end up a defensive mid, some great work middle of the pitch but twice jumped in in the box instead of standing his ground and could have cost his team dearly.
Exiled_Rover Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 If he had scythed down Bale like that in a Rovers shirt he'd be on a yellow. One rule for one....
bluefred Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 thats because hes a good player , better than the crap we have been left with.
Backroom Tom Posted August 22, 2011 Backroom Posted August 22, 2011 thats because hes a good player , better than the crap we have been left with. And that's why we got £16m for him. Having a good game showing no signs of nerves, I genuinely think the only thing that could stop him is his decision making which he will improve and his knee.
HairwayToSteven Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Playing out of his skin. I seriously wish him all the best. When you're good enough to leave Red Nose with selections headaches you're not content with Rovers, although admitting that isn't pleasant. It's a no-brainer really for that calibre of player given the opportunity of a lifetime. The Le-Tissier's are long gone.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Jones is going to become a ridiculously good player.
Hughesy Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Excellent performance by most United players, must be easier playing with a solid team around you (except De Gea)
Emge Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Mixed feelings about seeing him play so well for United tonight. Its a bittersweet feeling, knowing that he could still play for us for a couple of more seasons, but I wish him all the best I guess!
BRFC4EVA Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 He's a rat and not another moment should be wasted discussing him.
Emge Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Dare I say I enjoyed watching United. One thing United should take credit for is blooding good young talent. And now they have a bit of English stuff in there - Jones, Smalling, Welbeck - a glimpse of the future for England? You can say that, I know I did! They looked stronger than ever tonight and I can see them winning the title comfortably, with Jones playing alot.
