Pakistani Media reporting that be was killed in Abbottabad, this is a town just outside Islamabad. More amazingly this is a garrison town and pakistan media reports say that his house/compound was just 100 yards from a military base. This raises huge questions of Pakistan authorities.

This guy was pure and utter evil, his death will hopefully be some sort of justice/solace for all the families that have been affected by the terrorists acts that have he has carried out.

I'm not sure it's true seems a bit convenient that he's been buried at sea already, it's also come at a time when Obama is under fire.

If it is true pics will surface soon I suppose, hope there is no backlash.

It's amazing it's took them 10 years to get the evil scumbag

What a great day for the West. Not only is the bogeyman dead, but his hypocrisy was shown up even in death. Al Qaeda preach against wealth and worldly objects yet its founder and figurehead was living in a mansion in a third world country.

Now is the time to completely re-evaluate our relationship with Pakistan, his mansion was apparently less than a 1000 yards from a major set of Pakistani barracks- talk about compliancy.

Killed in a mansion outside Islamabad.

His presence must have escaped the notice of the Pakistan intelligence agencies

It all fits in now and adds much gravity to this from last year for which Cameron received much criticism for....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-10791182

and gives the lie to this....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10826082

and this

http://www.rferl.org/content/Pakistan_Disappointed_With_Cameron_Remarks_On_Terror/2112894.html

And is obviously behind this... Cost us 650m but then a 10 year wild goose chase will have cost a lot more. Question is have we had value for money or not?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011/apr/05/david-cameron-pakistan

Some people simply can't lie straight in bed can they? I assume the execution and disposal at sea is all part of the deal so that Bin Laden can't blow the whistle on the Pakistani involvmernt and the individuals concerned?

2001/2

"Tell you what Uncle Osama... it's getting a bit warm around here, Uncle sam is more p1ssed off than we thought. So you take a couple of days off and take a nice to the mountains in Afghanistan for a few days. Make sure too that you take lots of holiday snaps and video's and that you are in them all holding a gun. Then when you have greased the necessary palms back here with your millions and we'll show them to the infidels and 'fully assist' them to look for you miles away in some cave or other. In the meantime you can live in opulence and comfort for the rest of your days or until your money runs out or until a higher bidder turns up and help our brave military with any contacts and info that you may possess."

2011

Sorry Uncle but you now are the weakest link ... goodbye.

Should have been fed to pigs, not chucked in the sea.

He might well have been. ^_^

Have you not heard? Somebody called Jal is supposed to be on his way?

Totally agree with Bazzanotsogreat. The leader of the 'Jihad against the evil west'....living in a luxury mansion/compound in a relatively safe part of Pakistan with his 2 wives & kids. Whilst thousands of his brainwashed followers are sent to their deaths in Afganistan, thinking their glorious leader is somewhere in those hills with them.

Just goes to show, a bit of power corrupts all.

This isn't really good news though, is it?

Bin Laden was an evil, evil man who obviously deserved everything that was coming to him and then some.

But this isn't going to make the world a safer place, it's going to do the exact opposite.

of course it safer ,its one less evil @#/? on planet earth. Why isnt it going to be safer?(do ya know something doc?).Of course someone else takes over and runs the scum machine, but if ,a big if , he is dead its one less scum bag.He is responsible for the death of thousands.

Because we've made a martyr of him, and his death will inspire others to commit more evil in his name.

You can't go round bumping off a jihadist at a time. It's a complex problem. Get shot of one and another 6 pop up in his place.

But I'm not sad he's gone, although I think death was too good for him.

I think he might be saying that because you can imagine this will have upset his followers, many of whom will now be looking to seek revenge?

Exactly.

Al Qaeda have already said numerous times if Bin Laden gets killed there'll be reprisals.

This would have made a difference if it was done in the late 90s. Not now.

This is a very complex problem. Killing Bin Laden is symbolic but it will have very little effect on the terror networks, other than increase the threat of another attack, these networks have evolved and they are not directly controlled by people like Bin Laden, the Al Qaeda ideology has been passed on to the other groups, if he had been caught in the late 90's then yes it would stopped the ideology from spreading.

We may have cut of the snakes head but the snake is most certainly not dead.

Killing Bin Laden and dumping his body in the sea will just reinforces his martyrdom within the nutters who follow his ideology and most like be used as a tool to recruit others.
