So you got duped then Phil. Basically you can write all that but at the end of the day you were taken in big time.

You are ejaculating prematurely on this one.

At the time of writing, Racing Santander remains Ali Syed's posession and he has been given deadlines to transfer funds which have not as yet expired. And for all the online web sites about him, I am not yet aware of arrest warrants or law suits.

That said, I have held my hands up (not for the first time) and very very few people on the MB are big enough to do that when they are shown to be wrong.

Fair play to Philip on the last point, it's pretty easy to have a snipe at folk that go out on a limb, do some investigation and place it in the public domain. If no one did it, then this place would be poorer for it, as to be blunt, if you don't put your head up, you won't take any shots, and that position is, IMHO, too easy and all too predictable.

If we all agreed with each other, didn't have an opinion, didn't do any research (That turn's out to be wrong or right) then how boring would it all be?

In summary, it takes more effort, and some bottle to do what Philip did, and to come back and take it on the chin earns a few points for me, after all, that's how lessons are learnt aren't they?

And, we are all experts when it comes to hindsight.

I try to write things that I wouldn't have a problem saying to someone's face in a pub over a beer, I don't always succeed, but I try, and consistancy is the key, apart from the odd nutter, most people on here are here for the right reason, and have the clubs best interest's at heart, we should all chill out a bit more, variety is the spice of life folks!

Have a good one, and apologies if this read's like a pulpit session, it's not meant that way.

I will hold my hand up and say that I was wrong about WGA and the Trust was right not to sell to them.

BDO were WGA auditors

KPMG were WGA accountants

Citigate were his PR agents

Credit Suisse were his lead bank and they promoted his business ventures according to many sources

A member of the Golden Circle of lawyers were his lawyers.

ALL of these companies have extremely strict "Know your client" processes they undertake to prevent being associated with businesses now getting the sort of publicity Syed is now getting.

Fair play for that.

I think after the near collapse of civilisation generated largely by the types of firms you list there, some of us were sceptical that their endorsement of Comical Ali was in any way a guarantee of his bona fides.

I remember the stick the BBC jouno Goldberg got at the time too.

It was always too good to be true but many on here were taken in hook line and sinker. :P

Warriors and their keyboards who needs 'em. I've never read Goldberg since but said at the time he was owed an apology by many, where are they now?

Give the guy a break. Its as though you have never made a mistake.

I think this list kind of highlights the number, and quality, of people duped by the guy:

BDO

KPMG

Citigate

Credit Suisse

A member of the Golden Circle of lawyers

And they all would be party to much more information than Phil.

Wait till Bucky starts at one of the 'big 4' accountants, he'll sort 'em out.

Poor show from those so-called respected audit/advisory firms, 5 mins on the web and you could tell there was no substance to WGA's global business claims.

Maybe up-front payment of their fees and a copy of over-typed bank statements is all you need these days...

I think that article contains my favourite passage of writing of all time.

"Balaji, pony-tailed, open-shirted and adorned with golden jewellery and a holstered pistol - imported, licensed and loaded"

You can stuff John Keats up your arse. That is proper wordsmanship!

'Keats? I've sh!t him!'

I can hear Balaji's pre-match Radio Rovers interview now:

Wendy: "Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me?”

Balaji; “It’s an Uzi, but I’ll let you fondle it anyway.”

philipl was about to hand him the pen

No need to scoff rjg cos it appears that he's conned plenty of bigger hitters than our Philip. Some thanks due to the Trust possibly..... even though that would undoubtedly stick in the craw of very many on here?

Personally I took an intense mistrust to him as soon as I saw his obviously staged photograph with gold pen at the ready and resplendent in massive green cufflinks and a forced stuck on smile. Dodgepot

As for me I'm far from convinced about the intentions of our lot yet. As wiggy said when they first rolled up.... 'under every pony's tail is an arsehole'. Think on.

1. Every need to scoff, it's one thing wanting Syed, it's another to bang on about it once the chance had gone and beat the club with it.

2. Trust you to have seen him coming. Doesn't surprise me you gleamed all that based on a photo.

Why was Syed so intent on owning a football club if he had no money?

Surely the best way to keep his scam going was to stay out of the headlines? I mean, what benefit does he get from owning a football when he has no money to invest?
