imy9
I am very proud of the lads. IMO 40 points will be enough to survive, but we need West Ham to fight tomorrow and get a result. It was lovely to see the United players hound the referee and the assistant, demanding a penalty, Hernandex gets 8/10 for the dive. IF Birmingham fail to beat Fulham tomorrow then they are in the mire as they have Spurs away last game of the season and they are playing for 5th. toetoe
Am i the only one who are absolutely furious about the last 10 minutes? If we lose AWAY at Wolverhampton, who are fighting for their life, we are down.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade
West Ham can't catch us, Wigan need to win both their games to catch us, Blackpool need to beat Man United (it can be done...) to catch us. As long as we equal one of Wolves, Birmingham or Blackpool we're fine (assuming Wigan don't win their last two).

Billy Castell
I meant we'd have to beat them to be certain. I'm raging after listening to the radio, sounding like we could win, and then conceding another penalty to the Salford Redsox. Even if it may have been a penalty for once. The usual hounding of the ref from the Man Utd players annoyed me too. I'd have been happy if I'd just read the result. At least Alan Green wasn't commentating on the game. I do not like ifs and buts this close to the end of the season.
Tim Southampton Rover
Am i the only one who are absolutely furious about the last 10 minutes? If we lose AWAY at Wolverhampton, who are fighting for their life, we are down. Nope. I agree. United weren't interested in the win. They were already celebrating. Surely we should have really pushed them. Obviously easier said than done against the Champions but if other results dont go our way tomorrow then we are still deep in the shitter. Just switched onto the FA Cup final. A lady is singing "We are the champions"...........surely a little kick in the teeth to City fans after United claim the title. Heinz
Also if Birmingham do not win tomorrow they will need a point away at Tottenham to come above us. Surely were safe
Herbie6590
I wouldn't back ManU to beat Blackpool - they'll be thinking of Barca - awful penalty to concede - not massively happy with our compliant surrender in the last 5 minutes but yes, I would have taken a draw at kick off. A point at Wolves ? Possible rather than probable I fear.
toetoe
You need to breathe, then look at the table. Well, Birmingham is gonna get atleast one point tomorrow, Wigan will beat WH, and suddenly there's 4 teams on 40 and 39 points. And we're meeting one of them in the last game. With 3 points today we would have been safe.
magicalmortensleftpeg
If we had tried to go all out for the win then there was a very strong chance that we would have been picked off at the other end. They had 4 men up top so any holes in the defence would have been exploited. Can't complain today. It was a penalty. Great performance from our team. We've had other results go for us over the past 2/3 weeks so it was bound to go against us at some stage. The key is our goal difference. Other teams will HAVE to win next week. We wont. Credit to Kean. 5 points out of the last 3 games. Doubt many people would have had us down for that.
Backroom DE. Posted May 14, 2011 Backroom Share Posted May 14, 2011 Today was the death knell for West Ham.
thenodrog
it was a penalty, a very very stupid one to give away considering where hernandez was rubbish. I,m anticipating that the Russian will have the ref and his entire family rubbed put on the 1st day of their summer holiday that mu will have paid for! imy9
West ham know that they need to beat Wigan tomorrow and win well-that should be in our favour.

Look4Me
Today was the death knell for West Ham. Not technically yet, seing as they have a theoretical chance of catching Birmingham. I don't think they will, though, but I sure hope they think they can...
67splitscreen
Whilst the last ten minutes may have been hard to watch and under normal circumstances I would be furious that we just agreed to run the clock down. Most incuding myself would be screaming the roof down if we had gone for the win, conceeding another with the the results panning out as they have would probably have relegated us. As it is IMO we'll see a similar result next week, a point each is enough why risk relegation.
Billy Castell
Did it look like the team had a structure and gameplan? Could you even say that Kean picked a good formation and side? Who knows, he may be learning how to be a manager................
J*B
Don't lose against wolves and we're safe. It's that simple.
magicalmortensleftpeg
If West Ham win tommorrow, we stay up. Simple as that. By winning West Ham will take Wigan down with them and will leave Blackpool having to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford. Birmingham will need a couple of results as well. Wigan win tommorrow and then it will all kick off.
pksrover
Think we may still stay up losing at Wolves if Blackpool doesn't get more than a point at Man Utd. Can't believe we didn't go for it the last 15 minutes. Players clearly ###### off with Kean when he told them to sit back.
ProblemChild
Don't lose against wolves and we're safe. It's that simple. Agreed. Lose against Wolves and it plays out like this. Wigan need to win both remaining games to go ahead of us. Blackpool need to win final game to go ahead of us Birmingham need to pick up two points from two games to go ahead of us. If two of those three fail to do that, we'll squeeze through on GD. A point or more against Wolves is the way I'd prefer to do it though
RibbleValleyRover
Did it look like the team had a structure and gameplan? Could you even say that Kean picked a good formation and side? Who knows, he may be learning how to be a manager................ Not sure I agree with that. United were bossing us at times in the first half because we were too deep, if Nani's goal had hit the bar then the floodgates could have opened. Once we scored after their keeper flapped we started to get on top a bit but United came back and put pressure on us just before HT but luckily we held on. Second half was a mixture really, we had the odd decent move (Olsson hit the woodwork) but United looked stronger most of the time. I thought our defensive play was overall pretty solid, thought Samba and Jones were very good especially Jones, something Kean probably has to take some credit for. I'll be calling for Kean's head at the end of the season whatever division we end up playing in, he hasn't shown enough to remain our manager imo. PAFELL
Am i the only one who are absolutely furious about the last 10 minutes? If we lose AWAY at Wolverhampton, who are fighting for their life, we are down. There was nothing Rovers could do about it. Utd just played keep ball. A point is better most of expected - when we were winning, we were all in dream land. We want whu to win then neither them or wigan can catch us. I do not think Man U will want to lose at home to blackpool, last game of the prem season, the day the trophy is given to them. I think it possible Fulham will beat Brum tomorrow and brum will lose at spurs. Rovers and wolves may both be like today, happy with a draw. Results tomorrow is crucial. Not sure about the pen today. Robbo couldn't get away, he pulled his hands away, utd player went into robbo.
Bobby G
It will go down to us not losing to Wolves. I dread that.
Roversi
I think it was a game that could have gone either way, Man United are going to dominate possesion in 99% of the games they play in but they were very blunt going foward whilst i thought we looked threatening going foward, i would have liked to have seen Holiett on the right wing and have a few cracks at Jonny Even's who is very suspect at left back. good point you cant deny that, just need to bring the steel and fight one more time to the Molineux next week.
