[Archived] Blackburn Rovers v Manchester United

Recommended Posts

Individual tickets are now being traded as high as £200.

Difficult to criticise any Rovers supporter who sells as this would virtually buy their season ticket for next season!!!

I've already knocked back no less than four offers.

Will be very difficult to steward / police inside the ground on Saturday.

Have you got any of the people contact details? My mate is off on a stag do on Thursday until Sat and has asked me if I can try sell them for him.

I'm sorry this is way out of order.

Some things are sacred. How people's consciences can allow them to even think of selling their tickets to Manc scum, traitors of the highest order. Just remember those loyal supporters of YOUR club who WILL be there and consider how it will feel for them. Disgusted and disappointed.

GET YOUR BLUE AND WHITE ON AND GET DOWN AND SUPPORT YOUR TEAM ON SATURDAY

sounds like we are risking a situation similar to when city took over the stadium.

your mate is gambling really. its a quandary really. what happens if it kicks off with the person in your mates seat... your mate could be punished ...banned for life.. but the club will be losing a season ticket holder etc... so its a grey area.

saw a city fan get a real battering in the riverside, after robinhos equaliser the other year!

the steward stood and watched and who can blame him ?

I know you're merely trolling and trying to assert Burnley are better supported than Rovers etc etc, but really, who'd want to sell their ticket for £200 - it's barely the price of a meal for four in a decent restaurant.

I thought you said "serious money". If it was £2000 on offer that would at least cause me to stop for two seconds before turning it down. £200 - do me a favour.

Well done though, you got a bite.

My blue and white is always out.

I don't care what it funds. He's a disgrace and he would be no friend of mine for even suggesting such a thing - and you're no better for encouraging it.

You are joking aren't you?

If people sell their tickets on and are then banned from future purchases they will receive their just reward. I don't go to Ewood every match to find myself sat next to the opposition especially when I may be watching them become champions while we may be pushed over the edge.

Anyone who thinks selling tickets is justified shows a severe lack of good judgement in my view.

Gav - as I've said before, more than one. See the doc as your memory seems to be slipping.

Thought you were a bit more 'savvy' but clearly not. However, clearly you are a fairly affluent bloke if £200 or even two grand doesn't turn your head.

For this type of market, five times face value is pretty steep.

Where do you sit mercerman? just out of interest?

2 Phonecalls last night asking for 8 tickets.

A further phonecall today offering me £175 per ticket. I am entitled up to 12 tickets due to the database history of my family. That would have meant me walking away with a profit of around £1,600. Easy to turn down. Last thing I want is looking at smug United fans in OUR end whilst we battle against relegation.

I hate United, and I would just love it if we beat them this weekend.

I'm afraid I most certainly am not. However:

a) I'd never consider not going to a match this important to us.

b ) If I ever couldn't go to a game I'd either leave the seat empty or give it/sell it for a very nominal sum to a friend who I knew was a Rovers fan

c) I wouldn't want to inconvenience other fans next to me by selling to away supporters of any kind and

d) I would sooner die than sell to a Red Scum supporter or do them any sort of favour whatsoever

I know you're trolling but I don't think everyone lse needs to keep bringing THAT bloody Citeh match up. That was a one off set of circumstances where we'd had an abysmal season AND were safe so there was nothing whatsoever riding on the match for us.

This match is completely different.

I hope the ticket office are going to be extra vigilant to weed out bogus applications though. <_<

Gav - let me clarify. Rovers' support in the main is from a hard pressed economic area and that is why our prices are amongst the lowest around. I actually know supporters who buy season tickets and really struggle to do so. I am not advocating that Rovers' supporters sell 'willy nilly', however, some who are hard pressed financially might just find the temptation too much.

It's like 20 questions.

Don't know how old you are but do you remember the days when Rovers' supporters congregated in the Blackburn End then usually walked through the Riverside to the Darwen End (assuming we were kicking that way first), had a bit of a run-in with the visiting supporters there then back to the Blackburn End for the second half. As I got more sensible, and fences were introduced to keep supporters in one of four parts of the ground, then moved to the Riverside (before the new stand) then had a seat in the 'new' Riverside stand. When Jack redeveloped the ground, moved to the JW stand where I've been ever since. Will that do ?

We got a 0-0 draw against them at Ewood last season while they where still fighting for the title, albeit with a capable manager. If our players stick to the game plan given and with a bit of luck, I don't see why we can't get a draw once again

Well nothing wrong in being positive

Good effort mercerman, I'm not impressed, but good effort, well until I find that passage, I've read it elsewhere  i'm sure.
