bigbrandjohn
It all turned out rather nicely. I didn't have to escort my Wolves mate off the premises, but it was close.

slough_rover
Most ppl would have thought we would have lost away from home, me included so top performance! Cant believe ppl are biatching about the second half performance. We won FFS!
roverwhelmed
Couldn't be happier. Rovers staying up, and Wigan too. Icing on the cake would be Blackpool too, but I bet it is pretty cool in Wolverhampton right now with 2800 Rovers and the Wolves supporters all celebrating together. YAY!!!!! imy9
If the players have reverted to Sam's infallible tactics then we will stay up every season surely? Correct. You're learning. "and will happen again next season if he is still in charge." You are clearly not.
blue/white
Brilliant first half. Dire second, but they were always going to come at us. Thankfully, WEVARE STAYING UP. Fair play to Wolves. They are a good club. Wolves: Images of grown men crying hugging their children at the final whistle were truly emotional. Rovers: I don't undertand why Rovers chose to relinquish ball control for the last 45 minutes.... i'm not saying press the advantage---- just regulate the proceedings. Wolverhampton came out fired up for the last half but if we had held up the ball that pressure could have been defused in 10-15 minutes. I suppose we could have done with a Tugay type that would have faciliated that. I'll be most attentive to what Venky's do w/ Kean in the next few weeks.... no way he deserves another SNIFF at our first team.
Driftpeasant
For just one day, can we not argue about whether Kean or the Raos or the French-Canadian Banking Mafia That Secretly Controls The World kept us up/down/will keep us up/down and just celebrate that we won and WE ARE STAYING UP!!!! Backroom DE. Posted May 22, 2011 Backroom Share Posted May 22, 2011 Thank God for that... an amazing first half, but a dire second. We just about did enough, and I'm glad to see Birmingham take the drop. Sad to see Blackpool go, but oh well, we've stayed up and that's all that really matters! Now let's get in a real manager and strengthen this team so we're ready to go again in August!!
Stuart
Brilliant play in the first half- second half Wolves were clearly hungrier and their second goal was contender for goal of the month. I am VERY happy to see Blues down and Wolves are staying up. Well done Steve Kean and the lads. It was never a free kick though!
martmitch
crickey went from relaxed to nervous breakdown, although we could have conceded another didnt half turn me into a nervous wreak. congratulations to the boys never had us down to win at wolves last game of the season, samba immense, junior amazing again, if I could level any critisism its that we sat right back second half which allowed wolves back into the game what a final day, im glad its over! The Gull
Brilliant first half which I put down to Rovers seemingly better prepared for the tension of this game so well done to everyone involved this week for that, and I include Steve Kean even though he buggered off for a couple of days. Terrible second half, and I wasn't surprised as we have been like that too often this season, half time team talks must be bloody awful! Hopefully the second half may have put doubts in the owners minds and they see the light and get rid now. One can only hope or I don't see how we will get enough points next season without a major turn around in tactical thinking from the current management team. Beta Ray Bill
What an astonishing final day of the season. Great result for Rovers, and the team I wanted to go down - Birmingham - joined the other team I wanted down as well. Heres to a few weeks rest. Ferrit
MB on meltdown! Obviously delighted we managed to stay up, time for the manager to clear off and rebuild with an experienced practitioner at the helm.
True Blue & White
Brilliant result, I honestly thought we'd be relying on other results but by half time our safety was in the bag. Despite Wolves coming back in the second half, by the time they got their 2nd goal the other results still kept us up so in all I would say I was much more relaxed that I thought I would be today. Stan Collymore has said he'll do a couple of laps around Ewood Park to honour a bet he made a few weeks ago when he was sure we'd go down. He's now saying on his show "Surely Steve Kean has to stay after the game today", so basically we should ignore all the games before hand and just judge him on this one game. We stayed up despite Steve Kean, not because of him.
Blueboy Downunder
i was biting my nails and fidgeting at lunchtime, never mind during the game...LOL. i am just relieved that we have stayed up and i will be very interested as to what happens from now on in, to the beginning of next season. according to jeff stelling, steve kean has said that we have got far more money to spend than we ever have...so lets see it!! I was among a number of fans calling for Kean to be fired after the Fulham game- we were wrong, The Raos clearly made the right choice in hindsight- then. We stayed up because of Kean as well as the players- the table does not lie. Had this been lat season we would have been what 10 points ahead of the drop zone? Freak season glad its over. Mercer
Fantastic news. Have been walking out in the wilds with not a clue what was going on. Got back to the car just in time for 6.00 pm and couldn't believe it. Well done Rovers though it does seem things were a bit painful second half !!! Rovermatt
Brilliant result. We almost p!ssed it away in customary fashion but well done to the team in grabbing a rather improbable three points early on and giving themselves a relatively stress free afternoon.
