cruz Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Beware of restricted viewing behind supporting pillars! Trick is is to go and test your seat first. I asked for a number of available seats and tried them out. There are pillars in my view (about 10 rows down) but I can't say I notice them during a game. As long as they are not in the way of the goal mouth it doesn't matter. You also see from the Riverside how many MORE people leave the blackburn end early but get to cowardly sneak down the stairs out of view

den Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Hi Den, how long did you have to Q for? 2 minutes? 6 counters open, 1 person at each counter, no queue as such. As I walked into the shop, one person left, so I walked straight up to the counter. Hi Den, how long did you have to Q for? 2 minutes? Also W11 has plenty of classy fans (!!!) are you sure you want to move there? I wanna sit right behind Rev.
Gav Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I wasn't sure Gav. The fact that I left it until the last day says a lot. As for your point about renewals, well I have asked for a transfer to w11w, which is a popular stand in the JW upper. I suggested to the lady that there wouldn't be much chance of me and Baz getting seats there below row 9, because it was a popular stand. She looked on the computer and said quite a few there hadn't renewed. Make of that what you will. I've not done mine yet but filled it out the day it arrived, going after work. Numbers sold will come out I'm sure, but thats interesting about the JW upper, posh seats them, us work class folk can't afford them
Hughesy Posted June 30, 2011 Author Posted June 30, 2011 Year on Year we are well below last season....whether thats down to ownership, no signings, unemployement - who knows. Im sure a couple of quality signings would soon tempt some of the 'non renewals' to sign up again.
trs Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Just renewed on-line. That was the closest I've come in Almost 30 years to not doing so! Cant say I've just bought something I really really want! (sad situation) Don't worry Gav once the figures come out it will be another stick the journos will use to beat us/venkys with.

Just been down to the ground and renewed all of my tickets also. But and exactly as TRS states above, I nearly didn't, left it as late as possible and I have only renewed out of habit and lasting support for my club, as opposed to personal interest or excitement for the season ahead. I wish I was one of those fans that sees amazing positives in everything the Venky's do and all that Keane says, but that would mean leaving my brain at home. I therefore remain hopeful they fulfill some of their promises and that Keane has learnt some lessons since he took over and will not be making the same basic errors again.

trs Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 See you in the bar pal Cant wait, frezzing our wotsits off and £3.00 plus a pint in a plastic "glass". Well worth the ST money
AJW Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 just re-newed , decided to stick with same seat in BB end............now stop dickin around venky's and splash the cash!!!
Roverdale Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Now that the renewal deadline has passed (well today) is the best way to find out what seats are available to just ring up the ticket office? Or will the seats that haven't been renewed be put online?
cn174 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I think they will be going online, but you might need to give them a couple of days - the ticket office aren't that efficient I don't think
den Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 The existing ST holders who have asked to be transferred, will be offered the non renewal seats first.
sambo Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 We lost 3000 season ticket holders after 02-03.... Crazy!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 If season ticket sales are down, walk on’s will be up, our gates will not go down in the main, I can guarantee that. Wishful thinking my friend, wishful thinking indeed!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 i'm thinking of re-locating from Blackburn end to Riverside ... what are the facilities / view / atmousphere like ?? You P1ss straight out a hole in the back of the stand into the River Darwen.......
robbo_rovers Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I sat in the Riverside last season a few times but didn't see a bar or concourse, but a mate told me there was down the back of the stand. Is this true?

thenodrog Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I wasn't sure Gav. W11. I sit there Den, great seats they are too, superb view, end of row and bang on the exit stairs. As I have said previously from speaking to aquaintences and asking around generally a significant number are not intending to renew and appear ready to call it a day and draw a line under it. (I will add at this stage that one serious definite 'sod it I'm not renewing with whats gone on down there' (riversider) from last spring has undergone an about turn and renewed.) However myself and my two colleagues have not renewed. Of the three we have a definite No! One 'very unhappy with the new regime' and the most positive one 'well what else will we do on Sat afternoons in Winter'?` They say 'heaven helps them that helps themselves' and to date of the 3 of the 4 players that I wanted to watch most (Samba for his drive, determination and massive never say die influence, Hoillett for his expolsive Duggie like match winning skills and Phil Jones for his attitude and potential), one has gone to our hate club as fast as his legs could carry him prob cos of the situation and manager, one is likely off to Arsenal cos of the situation and manager and one is 50:50 whether we will see him here in 6 weeks time cos of his bloody Dad (and if we do see him at this stage it's only cos in 12 months time he is free to negotiate his own release. As for the 4th JJ for all his grit and determination he was never our player anyway and it speaks volumes that at the moment it doesn't appear that he wants to be either. As for the club itself what have they done in persuading ST holders to renew? They've hardly attempted to replace like for like as yet as was surely called for. There's no sign yet of them improving the sqad at all and even Nicko currently appears very scathing of their obvious attempts to run things the Indian way (I do concede that that means little as we all know that he can change tack with the wind). But still all we have to go on is the effect of the traditional South asian method of doing business that we all know and love so well, namely the ees cheepa, ees betta tactic both in the (corner) shop window and behind the scenes in the back. Even a blind man on a galloping horse can see that this will not work in the English Prem. Offering to simply keep the ST price down simply isn't enough imo. Thay have failed to recognise the primary things that make us all supporters. ... hope and a collective togetherness. There were a lot of wrongs done last season imo and not many rights(see my sig re:DW) and now when they are looking for us to put faith in them they are doing little to persuade us to do so.
thenodrog Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 This approach doesn't make much sense, we've had little or no investment for years and still people have renewed year upon year. If season ticket sales are down, walk on’s will be up, our gates will not go down in the main, I can guarantee that. Piffle. Walk ons are result sensitive, ST's are not. Gav lets be honest you are in no position to guarantee anything.
den Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 W11. I sit there Den, great seats they are too, superb view, end of row and bang on the exit stairs. I'm in central W11 now Gord, but I'm considering moving just across the gangway in order to save Baz a few quid. - well 60 quid actually. As for the rest of your post, I can't disagree with any of it really. I was in the "what else am I gonna do on a saturday afternoon" brigade - and that's the first time ever for me. It will be interesting to see how the ST sales have gone so far. My gut feeling is that they will be down, maybe by a couple of thousand or so. A spending spree would help between now and the season start though.
Mattyblue Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I can honestly say that I don't know anyone who hasn't renewed, same for other people I have talked to. But I still get the feeling that they will be down, which will be tragic for the club when the prices are so low.

But I still get the feeling that they will be down, which will be tragic for the club when the prices are so low. It's not go or don't go cos there will be day tickets and quite likely those ludicrously cheap bundles that make us all wonder why we even bother to get St's in the first place. Look at it another way if no one renewed and the club depended solely on walk ons then things might have been done differently.
Hughesy Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 Iv already told you - like for like sales, we are WAY down on last season. Im not allowed to release the figure but it is substantial....like I said - I just hope some signings can pursuade a few more to join up again.
Mattyblue Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Funny that aint it, tohught it was the Slug that was putting everybody off?
