thenodrog Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I am in a position to say that at this moment I havent renewed my ticket, nor has my good mate and fair few others. None of us have financial constraints or job worries and ALL of us have had tickets for a good while, the lowest serving member has about 25 yrs solid service of following BRFC. This is my 40th season or will be BUT as it stands I am just not going to hand over my cash until we see some major improvement in the way the club is being portrayed and we see just what quality we have coming into the club. I need to see and end to the likes of Andrews and Grella and Benjani and I want to see an end to the links with Maradonna, Beckham and any other player such as fat ron and ronnidino. I want to see solid investment in half decent players. I want to see a Bentley, a Defoe or a Bellamy or Bendtner. I want to see good solid players coming in not morons or money grabbers. I want the venkys to come out and TELL us their visions of how they see BRFC. I want to see the clubs vision, the future. I want to see who our sponsors are and I want to see our kits for the coming season. Until I do then its simple. Like others I will not renew and I will not be a walk on fan. The club needs to grow communications skills and it most certainly needs to communicate with its hardcore support because without it they lose and the club loses. I want venkys to succeed but at this very moment in time, despite the ruffling behind the scenes I am not convinced theya re getting it right ON the pitch. Correct 1864 roverite. Unless one is a mindless moron and stubborn to the point of stupidity it is one's own choice where one chooses to spend one's money isn't it? I've argued long and hard in both the near and disatant past that for a club the size of ours Prem status is punching well above our weight and that we should actually all be paying more not less than the average Prem supporter of bigger teams to fund our club. To resort to £200 ST's is a bloody joke these days and if we had gone down could have finished us off as the prices would have had to double for life in the Championship. It was an argument that went down like a lead ballon with some of our self declared staunchest die hards who now choose to criticise people for holding stronger principles. The gazillions of money swirling around football is totally bloody obscene and wrong in every sane opinion*(see below) yet when someone declares they are not continuing as a ST holder they are rounded on. Pack mentality at it's best. *It is revealed today that despite applying for the the Olympic stadium, having a squad worth many millions, paying many millions in wages and agents fees, and with massive earnings every season that Spurs are requesting Govt help to fund their ground improvements!!! How sick is that? The country is screwed financially, we are going to be out of work or poverty stricken in our old age, defence forces are being cut, NHS services are being cut etc etc etc yet the Yids want us to fund their bloody ground developments! This is beyond greed this is just sick. Stop the roundabout I need to get off. Roversmum and Simon Garners 194... you need to stop, take a deep breath a good look around and smell the coffee.

SD4E Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Until I do then its simple. Like others I will not renew and I will not be a walk on fan. Supporting Blackburn rovers to me means supporting Blackburn rovers. Not venkies, not the star player each year, not the chairman, not the board, the club plain and simple. Yes times are uncertain, but I can't for the life of me think I would ever be in a position to stop supporting the club I love, and not attend the games. It astounds me so much of our so called support who have followed the club through the old 3rd division now think the right thing to do is to not renew their season ticket, and call it a day, It's called support for one reason, because those that do support through thick and thin. Those that don't, are fans, not supporters. I just hope it's a lot of lose talk on these boards and when Saturday comes so to speak, the supporters show their heart is in the club.
thenodrog Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 How many would we lose if prices wemt up tho.. Take your pick Abbey.... 1. None they are all proper die hards. 2. Thousands cos when it comes to paying the going rate for the Premiership product they disappear faster than snowflakes in hell.
ABBEY Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I'd be not renewing if the prices went up to say London prices.
Stuart Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I honestly think it's really sad to think that the current situation has turned off the likes of Theno, 1864, Maj and the like. I've renewed because I want my lad to grow up supporting his home town club and because I can afford for us both to go. But also because I enjoy the experience of watching live football and couldn't bring myself to go and watch another club. I was born, and still live, in Blackburn - which probably explains why I'm a miserable old curmudgeon at times- but, for better or worse, it's my team.
thenodrog Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I was born, and still live, in Blackburn - which probably explains why I'm a miserable old curmudgeon at times- but, for better or worse, it's my team. Don't give up on me yet I'm against renewing but it kinda leaves my mate at a loss. I'll be trying to convince him that it's time we packed the ST's in and just pick and choose every so often. BUT the nub of my discontent and at complete odds to your final point is that it really is no longer our team. Apart from the blue and white halves and ewood park itself it's got sweet FA to do with the lot of us anymore. Don't know about you jisty but I feel like my support has been taken for granted and the players, the owners, and the management are all just on the make and taking the ###### out of the lot of us.

bob fleming Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I renewed. Hopefully our "new" owners, Venkys Chickens, will one day soon do something that suggests they actually give a damn about BRFC. That would be a nice and welcome change to the incompetence, ridiculous decision making and general negligence that has characterised their first 7 months "in charge". Paid: £23m Mortgage taken out: 1 Player Sales: £16.5m P Jones Potential Player Sales: £12m Samba, MGP? Kalinic? Money actually invested: ? Players In: Anderson from Aberdeen Reserves (3 mins playing time) Players Out: P Jones, Mame Diouf, J Jones, R Santa Cruz Shirt Sponsors Lost: 1 Season Ticket Sales: Allegedly 30% down How are the mortgage payments going by the way Mrs Desai? Fancy taking in another match next season? Have you ever watched the film "The Sting"? If so then I'm sure you can understand my concerns regarding what has taken place so far during your reign. Or is it your brothers who are making the decisions? or is it Mr Huber? or maybe Kentaro? Whoever it is I'd have a word if I were you, but then again I'm back to square one, I'm presuming you actually give a damn.
Stuart Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 When did I say I wasn't going? You didn't. I don't think. But you are turned off. Or you seem to be at the mo. Cheers Aggy! Don't give up on me yet I'm against renewing but it kinda leaves my mate at a loss. I'll be trying to convince him that it's time we packed the ST's in and just pick and choose every so often. The daft thing is though, you only have to pick about 8 or 9 games and you've paid for a season ticket. I know what you mean but you and I both know that the bit in bold applies to about 95% of the PL clubs and 70%+ for the rest of the league.

Not to miss anything else out eh Players in - Rochina (£1m), Formica (£3.5m) aswell as two loans RSC & JJ Potential signings - Piatti (£8m), Cisse (£12m), Miranda, Russian right back (£4m), Witsel (£11m) and many more Shirt sponsors contract up - 1
Mattyblue Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Unfortunately Hughesy most of our fans don't go on this site, don't read the transfer thread, have never heard of Alan Nixon and are basing their decisons on having just seen us nearly relegated, lose our most promising player since Duff and spend £0 so far. The last 6 months have been farcical in many ways and for those not 'in the know' they don't expect things to improve. Ergo no ST for them.

Potential signings - Piatti (£8m), Cisse (£12m), Miranda, Russian right back (£4m), Witsel (£11m) and many more 3. Shirt sponsors contract up - 1 1. Fair play! That'll be the sun and a few beers. We did buy two players. One never kicked a ball for the first team, the other approx 90 mins over two games. Not a great return for £4.5m. 2. Potential. Potentially burnley could be in for those players as well. Potentially we might spend £20m next week. I'm talking about what has actually happened to date. 3. Contract up. OK - I'm guessing that was in March wasn't it? I would like to think that that's plenty of time to find a replacement. But there have been a couple of clubs in the history of the Premier League who haven't had shirt sponsors so fair enough.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 It seems that 1 in 3 season tkt holders have walked away. There is no need for Hughesy to PM you, if he knows a figure he could quite easily put it on here.! To say he cant say is ludicrous! We are only talking about a football clubs season tkt sales here for godsake. Ok then - you say 1 in 3 haven't renewed - if you have all the facts and figures please can you tell us how many have renewed as of now ? Also to add a bit of realism to your claim - how many had taken up their tickets by the same time last year. Truth is we aren't going to sell out - I would imagine there is a fair number waiting to see what happens before making a decision. But the real comparison is ST sales at the same time last year - not before the season started. P.S. John Williams previously said we lose around 10% at renewals - if lucky they are replaced by newbies.

I'd say fortunately most of our fans don't come on this site... over the previous 12 months it has gone downhill beyond belief, and now mainly consists of people with to much time on their hands, bitching, point scoring, i'm right and balls to your opinion, over the top reactions after every match, bullsh!tt!ng, one-up-manship, I know something you don't but I'm not telling and general mass debating some of the crap that people come out with on here is beyond belief ... philipl Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Anyone who knows me knows I am very much at the optimistic end of the spectrum in life in general. The reality is that unless the new ownership change their approach dramatically, there is very little to look forwards to at Rovers.

The reality is that unless the new ownership change their approach dramatically, there is very little to look forwards to at Rovers. That's just not true Philipl, especially if you are naturally optimistic, this pre season is far more exciting than it's been for a long time, pre seasons under Sam were BAU, MH was expected to perform miracles to the extent he left us, Sourness lost the plot in the end. Now, like Kean or not, we're under new ownership, and despite the difficulties last year, we surely have to allow them a clean slate? I don't think we can start to judge them until the end of the transfer window? As for Season tickets, I've renewed, as has everyone else around me in BBE NO2, the reason, it's our club as well, and I can tell you this, it was harder renewing under BS and Sourness (At the end) than it is now, and relatively speaking, cheaper! I'm also pleased to announce that I shall be bringing my 8 year old Nephew along, who is born and bred Bolton, my work is done! A few decent signings and some level of normality will return, where I think we do agree, is that I'd like to see the Chair woman take more of a lead, as I happen to like her business like approach. I would inagine well over half of our fans aren't happy with what's happened since Venky's took over.

I they don't change their approach dramatically, there will be no signings of any note.
