What' does that mean Ben?

I would inagine well over half of our fans aren't happy with what's happened since Venky's took over.

]

It means the constant droaning, moaning etc... that has gone on long before Venky's arrived... people not renewing because of they're not happy with X,Y & Z... well don't, we could do without negativity on a matchday anyway!!

I'm not sticking up for Venky's either... but to not renew my Season Ticket because of them? NOT A CHANCE!

THIS IS WHAT MATTERS -> :brfc:

I simply asked what this meant and said that I reckon well over 50% of rovers fans aren't happy with the way things have gone since Venky's took over. Do you think the majority of fans are happy? -

Very true... I tend to read from a distance rather than get embroiled in the same old negativity and sniping... if that was the majority of our 'support' god help us!!

You didn't answer that.

Roversmum and Simon Garners 194... you need to stop, take a deep breath a good look around and smell the coffee.

Thank you, theno, but I am perfectly capable of making up my own mind. Well as I said on another thread, that is your decision, but if that is the case then I am not really interested in your opinions.

I am a Blackburn Rovers Supporter and that I will stay and I will be there as long as I am able.

I'm not saying over 50% are happy as I don't know,

Happy or not it meant they don't all go on about it, whinging, moaning and saying they're not going to renew their ST's and shoot down the first positive post they see like some.

Right oh Ben. So basically you only want positive posts allowed. There are plenty of posters like yourself though, TBH. Trouble is, people saying how they see things is the lifeblood of any m/b.

Come on Ben as Aggy says anyone being 'negative' gets shot down as well, as they have an 'agenda' or are being 'hysterical' or want the club to fail.

That's why this site is so bloody hard work these days. Losing a third of ST holders (if that's a true figury) in one summer is a disaster, especially at the prices. I'm gutted that all the work done to get Ewood heaving again looks to have been thrown away.

Hopefully it will send a message to the Rao's, but I doubt it.

All i'm saying is it gets tiresome. It's a reason why I mainly visit this forum as a browser rather than a contributor... it's been the same for years though, long before Venky's arrived as I said.

You should be. Agree with them or not they are nearly always on the money. -_-

i had a season ticket from between 97 to 2003, i gave it up because i was fed with souness' tenure, also because i was feeling football overload. I applied for a season ticket application form in june and then received it and sent it off. I was going to get a new season ticket regardless of whether venky's spending spree was going to happen or not. But now i feel a sense of dread going into the new season, i dont want my hard earned money to be spent watching what went on last season, i just hope i dont live to regret the decision.

Well done

He was talking about potential players leaving.....That means nothing either - see my point?

As for not happy - I wasnt happy with the trust running the club either.

The one thing about the trust .. I trusted them! I don't trust this lot as far as I can chuck em. It's completely understandable that they chose to sell but to lose such a safe pair of hands is a major blow to the club.

Why weren't you happy Hughesy? The Trust ran BRFC along strict and sensible business lines. We lived to our income and above our potential. That simply cannot be wrong can it?

All this spend spend spend that never materialises is candy floss economics designed for greenhorns and the terminally stupid who believe everything that is said to them.

At the end of the day Theno it's your choice to renew or not.But I will say one thing,by not renewing you are potentially harming the club you purport to support.I agree with some of your comment's but its my view that by turning away you are helping nobody at BRFC.

That is your perogative but it's sure as hell not my wish.

The thing is Hughesy they give us the longest run in the top flight since 1936. I never thought we would challenge the top four under the Trust, but then again they never claimed we would. However, I never felt that we would get relegated under the Trust.

Now our new owners promise us a top six or eight spot and a cup to go with it. Yet, I feel more nervous about relegation than ever I did during the past decade. Indeed, I think a fourth from bottom finish will be cause for celebration unless this lot can get their act together in the near future.

Having dismantled the previous management structure they don't appear to have the first idea about how to rebuild it. It's all in stark contrast to Jack who knew what he wanted when he took over and got on with it. When he did make mistakes he reacted quickly and rectified them. It's time Mrs Desai started to wade in and provide some firm leadership at this point and sort out this ongoing mess.

Personally I dont think they gave a monkies about us and did the bare minimum that they had to - however that wouldnt have been what Jack wanted.

They grew their income, mainly through the airline but we saw none of the profit from the trust, infact they started to pull out their annual £3m....

I understand we were stable etc, but had we gone down with their lack of spending on new talent then I think we would have sunk as they wouldnt have re-invested to get us back up

Do you honestly think that Venkys will invest in the club if we go down? Our new owners have made no secret of the fact that they see the club as part of their marketing programme. There's very little global marketing to be done in the Championship.

No difference to the last lot then. Andy Cole was the last hurrah of the Trust forking out substantially to keep the dream alive. While they certainly managed us prudently I think they got lucky twice: first when Jon Stead of all people dragged us out of the bottom 3 and second with Hughes' transfer dealings that deferred the financial issue for a couple of years, although we still managed to build up a 20 million overdraft even with that. If Hughes had bought badly then financial wheels would have come off.

Is it luck or good management? They backed a manager who wanted Stead and it worked. They appointed Hughes and he proved to be a success. Two examples of the prudent management you mention. However, the bottom line was they kept us afloat in a very competitive League. The challenge for Venkys is to do the same. I'm not implying that they can't, simply acknowledging that the Trust did an excellent job in keeping us on the Premier League money train for a decade.

At last!

Not only that Hughesy but I bet Venky's are going to rack up the debt at BRFC at a truly ridiculous rate. And there's the difference. The big difference. I don't trust the new owners. Whereas The Trust, for all their careful budgeting, never gambled with the long term future of the club. They might have been "tight" (they weren't) but with Williams at the helm we were in safe hands (well as safe as we could be at in the absence of anyone from the Trustees wahting to give their money away to the club). Williams: Proven, Trusted, Experienced - and removed.

If Venky's buy 4-5 players this summer, why should I trust them? My money's on debt every day of the week. They took a MORTGAGE out after buying the club FFS (if they didn't then please someone explain to me exactly what did take place once and for all. It's just that every time I or anyone mentions the "M" word it is completely ignored).

To me it's Debt time boys and girls. All in the name of selling chickens. This despite Venky's PR telling us (thanks Kamy) that it's all being financed by "The Chicken Overlords" (someone else's ) but then if Venky's PR don't tell us that there's nothing to worry about then who will?!

I mean, if they were bothered about The Rovers they might even have gone to more than 3 or 4 games last season. Still, they're buying Dunny's house, or was it G Neville's? Whatever... And we're interested in buying loads of players - without putting a bid in.

Finally, Parsonblue, you talk of a Board backing a managers judgement on the players he wants to sign! What the blazes!! That's not the future of our football club. That would be far too simple. What about X, Y and Z's interests? Where's my cut? Then again I don't trust the manager either, but then I didn't appoint him, I wonder who did.

* Quite possibly the best mis-quote I have ever done!! Please, don't take any offence Hughesy - you stated the exact opposite! I'm only messing.
