I have 40 yrs service at Ewood and I havent renewed.

There is no leadership at the club and we are rudderless, heading for nowhere but oblivion until someone puts a stop to the stupid nonsensical messages coming out of Ewood and the media.

Rovers communication skills had improved dramatically under the guidance of J Williams and Co. Now we have a club that has returned to the dark ages of not speaking to themselves, the players or the fans. It really is a very poor effort by Rovers under the non leadership of our current owners.

Until they sort that out I wont renew, its as simple as that. Nothing to do with money, nothing to do with signings it just the club has lost its identity for the time being.

I completely understand the point and respect those who have reluctantly taken this decision. People who have been attending Rovers for decades have every right to vote with their feet and attempt to send a message that the running of Rovers is just not good enough. We are all helpless really, and this is potentially the only way of showing the owners that they cannot decimate a much-loved club without implications.

I have bought a season ticket as I am planning to move down south next year, so it is my last one for a while.

Allardyce has gone den, has nobody told you :D so it wasn't an issue :tu: all have renewed, with a couple of new ones bought also.

I'm sure you'll agree Den, this thread has hypocracy running through it, especially from one certain poster who saw fit to hammer long distance fans, only to be found wanting himself and won't be renewing.

Hiding behind the owners, when really he just ins't interested in Blackburn Rovers any longer, he needs to show some backbone for once.

Gav's not Happy it appears Den..... more like Grumpy today I'd say. :P

He's a poor memory too ..... Him and the other 6 around him on that dreadful Blackburn End section were the biggest backsliders around when Allardyce was in charge. None of them were ever going to renew again.

IMO. youre a fan for life and if youve got the funds you should always buy a season ticket.

i hated big sam's style.. not going over that again.. but i still attended most away games and would never think about not renewing my season ticket. had 1 since 1982/3 and will continue to have 1 whatever division we are in!

support your team. rovers need your support more than ever.

Can you define fan, supporter and customer in this context please zac? I'm sure that a ticket is the same cost for all of them.

Correct Rothey, as I said my mind is not made up yet. I'm waiting to see who is wearing the shirt come September. Up to now they want the same money as last year for a significantly devalued product from last year, which I fear is soon going to be devalued even more. Why tf anybody has committed to ST to date is beyond me. However I fear you are wasting your time with Blackburns all time No1 supporter.... from the cheap seats. ;)

you dont need me to define those in any context, gordon. ;)

i never mentioned price in my posts... apart from the obvious " ANY1 THAT CAN AFFORD A ST"

do you know any1 who says "im a blackburn rovers customer?"

or is that just you ??? -_-

I've committed because I happen to like my seat. I'd probably end up going to at least a dozen games anyway and would therefore end up spending the cost of my season ticket but would possibly end up sitting all over the place when I'd rather sit in the same seat each week. I tried not going a year or two back - it caused a lot of family friction and wasn't worth it, not when I really wanted to support Rovers anyway. Basically I don't care if Mrs D herself takes to the pitch for rovers with the tea lady and any other staff who can fit into a kit. I'll be there if I can afford to be and if I'm fit and well enough to get there. A potential brush with serious illness has taught me that I might as well get on and do what I want now as there really are no guarantees you'll be able to go on doing it and what I want to do is supprt my club.

Thanks - I'm perfectly well now btw but it was one of those where i spotted symptoms early and so was lucky to get it sorted with a minimum of fuss. But when the doctor says 2 years down the line it would have been a very different matter, you think "life's for living so I'd better get on and do it"

This is a new angle. Work colleague of mine who originates from Cheshire and who held a MU ST for many years sacked that off when he moved to Lytham and can now be regarded as close to a neutral football fan as one gets. He and his son initially bought Blackpool ST's for a year or two before returning to the Prem product and becoming Riverside ST holders about a decade ago....... This season in objection to the post takeover shennanigins he is buying a ST at Wigan of all places!

Normally the above wouldn't be of much concern but it doesn't appear that countless thousands of South asian supporters are materialising as many thought they would does it. If the Venkeys cannot sell BRFC here then whats the chances of doing so in India? I might be guilty of making 2+2=5 but maybe the venkeys seeming change of direction and broken promises (to date) has been influenced by the results of a few bob spent on market research in India?

The point is ABBEY this guy is a neutral fan. He's not bothered who he watches. Now that may be difficult for us to understand but it's very different from a Rover swapping clubs to Wigan.

We've got 3 new season ticket holders this year, 2 United fans and a Celt, all want to see Premiership football.

"At just over £200 its a no brainer" they all said.

Agreed. Don't most of us watch other teams on Tv play against each other. I sometimes go to watch Brighton as it is near to where I live. Does not mean I do not support Rovers. Just that I like watching live football on a saturday afternoon. Travel to Blackburn each home game, is too much for me, moneywise and health wise and for a number of other reasons. Though I am coming up in december for about 3 matches.

It would not surprise me if others on here have a 'soft spot' for another team.

Maybe I'm missing the point here but I don't want neutral fans buying our season tickets. I want them to give their all getting behind Rovers.

Neutrals can bugger off.

If these neutrals were stopping our fans from getting in the ground, I would agree, they're not, so what's the problem?

Exactly, one of them has just rang me and said he's going to Morecambe tomorrow also!

The problem is they don't have the heart and energy required to get behind the team when the going gets tough. By definition they are in it for themselves and on occasion may even be rooting for the opposition!

Not someone I want sitting near me.

If you do, please don't ever complain about a lack of atmosphere at Ewood.

Exactly, one of them has just rang me and said he's going to Morecambe tomorrow also!

Sounds more like a closet Rovers fan than a neutral! Tell them not to forget their MU umbrellas! ;)

Empty plastic seats will do nothing to improve atmosphere either jisty, don't see your problem. If i lived miles away from ewood and couldn't afford to go i wouldn't think twice about payin just over 200 quid to watch another local team. For the record I'd never support another team but would still want a football fix. If the miserable so-called fans round here aren't interested, i'm more than happy for neutrals to come along.

Thats rubbish and way too simplistic Abbey. The guy simply likes watching football matches with his son as a form of entertainment. He is a supporter of football not a football fan. If everybody who turns up at a football ground is rubbished as a plastic how the hell will a club like BRFC ever hope to fill ewood? Sorry but that is a proper small town viewpoint.

btw ... Did you watch the Cup final? How about the WC Final or the Champions League final? What about the richest game on the entire planet the Campionship play-off final? I did and I'll tell you I ended up rooting for one side in each of those matches and needless to say BRFC were not involved in any. Football should not be off limits just cos there is no childhood bond with any particular club.

that is a Dingle mentality proper Jisty. Behave yourself.

From their point of view as neutrals, I'm sure it makes perfect sense. I'm just giving you my view as a Rovers supporter.

Vociferous fans can be infectious and bring other fans around them into the atmosphere.

I'd argue non-Rovers fans are likely to be less vocal.

The only argument for allowing neutrals in is a commercial one - as you say better a £200 bum on a seat than that seat being vertical.

Still doesn't feel right though.

that is a Dingle mentality proper Jisty. Behave yourself.

Careful...

Lets be sensible... The clubs accountants will not give a toss wfor who pays to sit in the seats as long as somebody does.

On a few occasions in the past (late 80'0s early 90's)I've gone to t'turf and paid through the turnstiles to stand on the Longside with the away fans and support their team. Now believe me that really is a good day out. Amazing craic with fellow football fans. In fact it's an almost unique experience.
