Mattyblue Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Around 18000 Rovers fans on today- remember there are always a few more for the opening day. Looks like there will be 17/18k home gate most weeks. After all that's been done to increase gates at Ewood, I'm really dissapointed.

Backroom Tom Posted August 13, 2011 Backroom Posted August 13, 2011 The attendance was about what I expected, we only had 22k v Wolves last season and wasn't it a cheap one? Although it was December. Last seasons opener had nearly 26k on but did Everton bring a few more than Wolves? I'm not sure.
Mattyblue Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 There were 21000 home fans on against Everton, almost 3000 down today- which correlates with the drop in ST sales.
47er Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 There were 21000 home fans on against Everton, almost 3000 down today- which correlates with the drop in ST sales. Swathes of open spaces in the Jack Walker and Blackburn End had more gaps than last season.
damo100 Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 After the last few years whereby the club can't do much more to increase the gates, i find todays crowd massively dissapointing!!! you can't blame about 3000 fans for not renewing, it's been the most frustrating period i can think of in recent times!! Why do Venky's stick with Kean!! It's obvious players who we are linked with don't wanna know!! The amount of stuff he has spouted is untrue, and all those fans on Ewood today (18000) deserve a medal for showing amazind patience after whats gone on this last 9 months! Fans have a right to 'Whinge' It's what this forom is for!!! Let's hope Venky's don't wait to long to get rid of Kean, or it could be to late!!!
47er Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 I said during the week (post since deleted) that "thousands of Rovers fans" hadn't renewed and was pooed on from a great height! Sadly I was right.

I wonder how our ST losses compare to other clubs in the top flight? is there a correlation here or are we a one off here?
Mike Graham Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Simple - people will not pay good money to watch sh!tee and losers.
1864roverite Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Think it was a pretty clear message sent to the clubs owners if you ask me. Surprised about open spaces in the Blackburn End as you cannot get a season ticket in the middle sections.
roverandout Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 i got my season ticket in the middle sections of blackburn end, strangely subdued attmosphere yesterday.
philipl Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 i got my season ticket in the middle sections of blackburn end, strangely subdued attmosphere yesterday. Venky's hve not only taken the Blackburn out of Rovers, they have stolen the heart of the club as well.
roverandout Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 yep, fans no longer recognise our club, players not willing to fight for the shirt, a manager who is clueless and owners who live thousands of miles away.
Hughesy Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Surprised about open spaces in the Blackburn End as you cannot get a season ticket in the middle sections. Quite a few will still be on holiday - and due to the low cost, many pick and choose games to attend.
Mattyblue Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 So it's 3000 then Hughesy, that's my calculation, any official word?
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Have Wigan, Bolton, Wolves, the three teams that finshed around us last season seen a similar drop of up to 4,000 season ticket holders?
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 22,000. Twenty. two. thousand. Tell ya what, I'm flipping glad Allardyce has gone because as many on here said his style of play was clearly driving fans away. Now we've got some Steve Kean total football our attendances have surged to 3-4,000 less than at any point under Big Sam. Wow it must be embarassing to talk such rubbish.
Ossydave Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 A lot of people clearly haven't renewed round me, or they've moved cos it was a completely different crowd around us yesterday. I don't blame people for moving away from us though we're hard work sometimes.
Hughesy Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Have Wigan, Bolton, Wolves, the three teams that finshed around us last season seen a similar drop of up to 4,000 season ticket holders? Massive City Wolves wont have no - they improved last season on the previous season Wigan had a low attendance yesterday, so possibly? Bolton are up on sales
AggyBlue Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Massive City Wolves wont have no - they improved last season on the previous season Wigan had a low attendance yesterday, so possibly? Bolton are up on sales So they haven't seen a slump like we have. I'd think we are the only PL cub to have seen a drop.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I'd think we are the only PL cub to have seen a drop. Just as I feared, make the most of the cheap season tickets folks!
stuwilky Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 i got my season ticket in the middle sections of blackburn end, strangely subdued attmosphere yesterday. Venky's hve not only taken the Blackburn out of Rovers, they have stolen the heart of the club as well. The atmosphere was about the same as it has been for a while. No better. No worse. Sorry if that upsets any agenda.
mhead Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Agree StuWilky. First match of Season and only early August. Lots of people on holiday (maybe up to 15%); no defenders etc Wait til september after the International matches, then judge.
Mattyblue Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 alas, it is pretty obvious STs are around 3000 down.
waggy Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 3k down on sat,i,ve asked my mates who have not renewed why, everyone said because of the owners, sad really
