roversmum Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Yes, extremely sad, especially for the guys who have been working so hard to bring our fans the best value seats in the premiership. They don't deserve that. You are either a Rovers supporter or you are not.

Mattyblue Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I'm gutted about it mum, great to see Ewood packed again. When we play Swansea, Fulham et al we will be looking at 18/19000 crowds and at those prices that is extremely worrying. Just another apsect of our broken club.
ABBEY Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 3k down on sat,i,ve asked my mates who have not renewed why, everyone said because of the owners, sad really Mind you everton had Huge gaps
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I'd imagine Swansea will take a pretty decent away following especially to grounds like Ewood where prices will be on the lower end of the scale.
67splitscreen Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 The guessing is over, just under 15,000 15-16% drop. From the FF, Glen Core said: "that season ticket sales had been down about 10% in mid July but there had been disappointing sales in the following period. As a result sales were 15-16% down on the previous year at just under 15,000. In particular there had been very few sales after the start of the season unlike previous years. Also sales were particularly down in the Darwen End where sales were only at 74% of last season, whereas sales in the Blackburn End Lower were only 10% down. Given the general state of the economy and initial results for the team this was not altogether surprising. There was evidence of reduced crowds from a number of other Premier League clubs." Biggest drop for how long?.
Mattyblue Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 There is evidence of sales being down in the PL, but at our prices it is more worrying here than elsewhere. Probably the biggest one season drop since relegation.
67splitscreen Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 According to reports, our nearest neighbours Bolton and Wigan were up on last season as of July.
The avg age group of a season ticket holder has shifted to the mid forty range in the Prem although that is probably more so at he bigger priced clubs.
What ever the reason it's another hole in the clubs finances along with sponsorship that will need propping up.

Stuart Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 If you don't buy a season ticket prices aren't great (offers) aside. I think a lot of people have lost interest due to the lack of transfer window excitement / manager issue, and can't see it changing. Venkys really haven't put their money where their mouths are. Sounds churlish now but had signed a Raul or similar ilk, it might have made a big difference.
67splitscreen Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 As a ref last four seasons our Avg. and the PL Avg. 08/09 23479 35650 09/10 25428 34150 10/11 24999 35283 11/12 22486 34173 Also Bolton and Wigan 08/09 22485 18350 09/10 21880 18006 10/11 22869 16812 11/12 23813 17882
Hughesy Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Too soon to look at averages yet, our big 3 home games (attendance wise) have still all to be played. Interesting that the Darwen end was something like 26% down on last year, despite many other existing ST's moving over there this time....whats the cause of that?
Hughesy Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Venkys So why then is it only down around 10% in the Bburn end??
Mattyblue Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Maybe because they were attracted to a £150 ticket and wouldnt stretch to the £225?
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Too soon to look at averages yet, our big 3 home games (attendance wise) have still all to be played. Interesting that the Darwen end was something like 26% down on last year, despite many other existing ST's moving over there this time....whats the cause of that? All the families moving out I reckon, tends to be what happens when singers move in. Swearing, aggression, standing up, crude songs, not something a lot of people want their kids around. Plus how potentially dangerous it can be outside that stand after games with home and away fans mixing and not a copper in sight.
roverandout Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 cant say i regret getting a season ticket after 7 years away, love the atmosphere of a saturday afternoon, the football on the other hand...!!!
den Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Too soon to look at averages yet, our big 3 home games (attendance wise) have still all to be played. eh? Gates are down. The season average gate will also be down if that trend continues. What has the three big home games got to do with that?
Mattyblue Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Indeed den, I usually ignore the total crowd figure and look at the home support, it is down at least 3000. Just think of the carnage if we had have gone down...
67splitscreen Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Too soon to look at averages yet, our big 3 home games (attendance wise) have still all to be played. Interesting that the Darwen end was something like 26% down on last year, despite many other existing ST's moving over there this time....whats the cause of that? Darwen End, guessing at the price differential between a full ticket in the B/E taking into account the games when they are moved and probably why the B/E is 5% less than the O/A average for S/T sales. So they moved back. Whilst logic prevails over this season averages for most, just for you Hughsey here is a comparison on last seasons Head-Heads -----------11/12----------10/11 Wolves 21996 ------- 22134 Everton 22826 ------ 25869 Arsenal 22636 ------ 25059 Total --- 67458 ------ 73026 Avg. --- 22486 ------ 24354
Mattyblue Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 The reason Wolves is close is that they brought a much bigger following this season- opening day and all that.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 It's as clear as daylight that the fans have voted with their feet this season, frustrated at the going's on at our club on all levels. We are currently only getting 17-18,000 home fans at Ewood, some of the lowest figures for quite a while.
Ben-2000 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 A lot of brand new ST holders bought in the Darwen End following the 'Crucial 3' deal. The rest were made up of people transferring as the singing area began to develop. I am certain the number of standers/singers has not gone down this season (its been louder in there so far too) but maybe the newbies have decided that enough is enough or moved elsewhere in the ground.
