roversmum Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hm. Now just remind me, exactly why are Venky's interested in buying a mansion close to Ewood? Ah yes, because they intend to asset strip the club and sell it? Or, perhaps, they are, as I believe they have said, in it for the long term?

Ah yes, because they intend to asset strip the club and sell it? Or, perhaps, they are, as I believe they have said, in it for the long term? Can you blame people for not believing what our owners say???? Suffice to say, said scenario has been doing the rounds from before they officially bought the club with the term Pompey MKII being used, frequently. I notice the house buying coincides with us reaching 40 points and if I'm being honest if this had come out say 2-3 weeks ago I would have agreed, I just find it odd that it comes out now. In it for the long haul, dependent on relegation?????? Who knows.......... Until they consistently display words and actions that match up, these rumours will persist....
47er Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Assuming this goes through its great news and shows Venkys are committed to Rovers for the long-term. Lets hope their performance improves!

Ah yes, they were going to turn the Academy into a chicken farm too. Oh, so because we've reached 40 points last Saturday they've suddenly decided to buy a mansion when they said from the start they would be looking to buy a property in the area? I've got a bad memory. I forgot that most folks around here never make mistakes, especially when involved with something new. Sadly, I do make mistakes, but then I'm only human.. And on that note, what's the latest gossip? Do tell ...
Backroom DE. Posted May 18, 2011 Backroom Posted May 18, 2011 People have every right to question the owners considering what they've done to the club so far in the short time they've been here. With Pompey & WHU still fresh in the memory it's reasonable that people will be suspicious, particularly when our owners consistantly come out with contradictory statements. Regardless, if indeed they do buy that mansion it is a reassuring sign that they're in it for the long haul - and if that is the case then surely they will do what they can to ensure we stay in the Premiership, as a Championship club won't be worth much to them.
roversmum Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I've been given to understand that they will stick around, hopefully that scenario won't arise and we will never know!
Paul Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 "are believed to have," "said to be interested,"believed to be from Venky's" - the bulk of this article is an estate agent's property description. I'm deeply reassured as to the future of the club. Anyone want my Wolves ticket? It's clear my support won't be needed as the Raos are going to save us. When we spend £6m on a decent midfielder I'll feel a bit more comfortable.
Ozz Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 It's alright like, but it's not exactly handy is it? It's a fair walk to the nearest Londis, when you gagging for a Scotch egg or tub of My Mums branded margarine. Nah, I'll stick to urban Chorley thanks.
Kelbo Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I was hoping they would buy a property a million miles away from Ewood, I really dont want them near our club at all unless they do take some proper advice, Not and I repeat Not, from Jerome Anderson!!
Mattyblue Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 The Academy was going to be a chicken farm? That was said in jest, surely?
AggyBlue Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 The Academy was going to be a chicken farm? That was said in jest, surely? They're thinking of moving it to 90 acres in Harwood now

RevidgeBlue Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hang in there mum, the doom brigade will clear this up shortly. Too right, actually the thread's been up several hours already and I'm surprised no-one has yet presented this as definitive proof Phil Jones is to be sold to pay for it. Actually the Rao's are building a granny flat in the grounds for their most ardent admirers Philip, jim mk2, thenodrog, Kelbo and 47 er. There they can party until the sun rises with "Joan" and "the mob" to their heart's content. Will the frivolity never cease?

That was said in jest, surely? No, she was deadly serious, and those around her were hanging on every word. That would be after selling Ewood and the Senior Training Centre and asset stripping whatever/whoever else happened to be around. Total and utter nonsense and the silly woman believed every word she was uttering. Still, it would make quite a few people happy, then they'd REALLY have something to say 'I told you so...' about.

I've heard some disturbing news in the same mould. Venky's dont have a penny and was really struggling to get a loan from the bank to buy this mansion. Therefore the bank accepted Phil Jones as security for the debt. This means that the bank legally owns Phil Jones. Think FA should investigate it.

Thought it was a bit strange. That explains it. Thanks for clearing that one up.
