I personally don't like tittle tattle.

Each to their own.

Reading back through her diatribe of feces it seems she writes caustic pieces of wretchedry about anyone who in the least displeases her overlord.

Probably the reason why she has no makeup on is that it all wiped off on Sir Alex's arse during the last session of veneration.

Whilst I agree in principle, I can not agree completely.

I personally have masticated a rather large wedge of humble pie in regards to Mr. Goldbergs superb, if not shady, piece of journalistic slash and burn. I emailed that fine journalist and apologized personally.

The difference is that that voluminous waffle is regurgitated tripe fit only for being vomited into the waiting mouths of Utd fans.

Do you not think reb albeit with the benefit of hindsight that the Jones debacle was an accident waiting to happen given the events of the past 6 months? The Venkys kicked off in fine style once it was too late but they'd brought it onto themselves by sacking and ostracising the people within the club with the experience that might easily have averted that entire situation at least for another season or two and if not that then for more money.

We're back to 2 names. Bentley and Bellamy. Under the previous owners and the leadership of JW and TF and a far more experienced and highly thought of manager. Everyone makes mistakes. However, you are not willing to allow for anything less than perfection.It must be hard work being infallible.

With regard to a brighter future I think Simon Garner summed up the situation perfectly in his article in the LT today. When he states that "we could easily get in the top ten but we could easily go down" I think he is absolutely on the money. As he says in the article the time has come for the owners to start delivering on their promises.

At the end of the day I don't think anyone can predict a brighter future at the moment - or indeed a gloomy future. Until we see the quality of the players that the owners bring in - coupled with those who we might lose - the future remains a mystery.

I edited gobsh1te, which on reflection was my only mistake.

I'll take the ban. The truth will out.

Gobsh1te.

Whatever people think about the situation, it's rare central defenders go for the sum of money Jones did, never mind largely unproven ones!!!

Standard that it would be another stick to beat the new owners with, even though the trust would have been snapping Manure's hands off for even £5 million less.....

What a sly, backstabbing comment! Untruthful too. The trust played a blinder in most previous transfers and indeed in most of the clubs financial affairs. You think anybody else would have got more for Bentley, Duff or RSC? How about 2.5m for Shefki for goodness sake?

As for the rarity of central defenders going for large sums? Rem the 24m that City paid for Lescott? Centre Halves always seem to cost a lot when they go to MU too. Ferguson's broken all sorts of records for centre halves in his time. He broke the British record for Pallister when he signed him and he broke it again for Rio when he paid 30m to LUFC. In between he broke the World Record fee for a centre half and made Jap Stam the most expensive Dutch player of all time.

The lack of respect from some on here towards to the trust, at times, is utterly shameful.

Firstly the defenders you mentioned were international players and had played CL/European football/experience in top leagues, Jones has none of those so that £20 million plus 20% sell on is a fantastic bit of business IMO.

Secondly on transfers it depends which way you look at it I suppose. I don't care how much money a player goes for (once they have decided to leave) as this has little impact on me the fan- what does make a difference is how much is reinvested into the playing squad. So the fees for RSC, Bentley, Warnock etc, we saw little of that in the playing squad and look at the replacements?

Warnock= Chimbonda

RSC= Kalinic

Bentley= EHD

The owners have not done anything yet BUT if they reinvest the money from the Jones deal AND provide the additional funding then its the first time in a long time that Rovers may actually be stronger after losing a top player.

I think Fergie's main motive for buying Jones was to get one over on Liverpool. I bet he's only just stopped laughing at how much more they were prepared to pay but didn't get him.

Actually, no, he's probably still laughing.

banned I belive!

Is he really? Brain the size of a planet and all that? :rolleyes:

I went on a site two days ago that had list of banned members and the reasons for their respective bans. I've often thought that we could do with similar on here. Might make more work but it might also help prevent people stepping out of line.

Admit it Theno, really as a habitual line stepper yourself you really just wish to know exactly where the line is so that you can tap dance along it.

It's a gift.

Truth is it's easier to find Atlantis than the board guidelines and interpretation of them depends on whether of not one of the mods has toothache, a recent row with the missus or is a newbie.

Shame is, with the whole world at the moment, that the line, and therefore the edge, is shifted depending on what idiology one subscribes to.

Nothing new about that Reb; twas always so (sad aint it). Hence the reason that anyone who is remotely addicted to truth can never be a politician (and yes I DO mean of ANY party).

All 3 of those apply to me, yet I still havent removed all the off topic posts. Strange that.

Ban/mod talk should be in the admin section, not here.
