47er Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I can't believe there are 14 sides in the premiership with fans louder than our's! Wigan???????--FFS! I also don't think Wolves are 18th either. Some other surprises----high-placing for Blackpool, low-placing for City. http://www.talksport.co.uk/magazine/big-picture/2011-05-24/loudest-fans-premier-league-revealed-where-does-your-club-rank?p=19

Stoke first without question. Then us
alexanders Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Loved the "Where's your famous atmosphere?" song which got going at Britannia. The article states that the decibel metres was put out on 3 occasions.
Bobby G Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Not surprised by that at least our placing. Although I would've thought Stoke were the loudest.
Mattyblue Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Why not Bobby? The atmosphere home and away has been superb this season. Don't let the media perception of Rovers fans sway you.
Ralfinho Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Haha thats my mate farrar sticking the 2 fingers up on our page My Mate Giving 2 Fingers
Clitherover Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I can't believe there are 14 sides in the premiership with fans louder than our's! Wigan???????--FFS! I dunno, Wigan's five fans can make a lot of noise when they want to. Seriously though, it's a stupid experiment, the comments beneath the article tell you why...
Hughesy Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 What a load of crap..... Stoke WITHOUT doubt the loudest....United 2nd Fulham last I agree with....CANNOT see how Wigan or Arsenal are above us!
Bobby G Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Why not Bobby? The atmosphere home and away has been superb this season. Don't let the media perception of Rovers fans sway you. No no, I mean relatively. I doubt we could argue we are one of the top 5 or 6 loudest sets of fans. We are talking about home games here. I feel from my experience of being down at Ewood Park ( albeit about 5 times cause I live abroad, and the matches I watch on TV ) that we tend to need the team to get us going, and if we have a set back we quieten down and the away fans begin to outsing us. Ive been told by many opposition fans who are friends that are fans are "too quiet". I will admit that I wasnt at Ewood this season and only was at Stoke away, where for the first half we we louder than they were for sure.
Mattyblue Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 A couple of years ago, I would agree with you, but there has defintely been a change at both Ewood and on our travels. Ewood- Darwen End, plus the BBEnd has been roused from its slumber. Away- seling out game after game, not stop singing for 90 mins.
Bobby G Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Im glad to hear it. Like I said I wasnt at Ewood this season and had a great experience at Stoke when I was traveling to London.
Majiball Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Whilst the atmosphere has definitely improved I must admit that from the JW middle, I don't hear us very much. I'm not trying to put anyone down as I have never sung at a football match, it's just not me, but I'm not surprised to us where we are.
rovgers Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I think it would have been more interesting if they'd included a list of which 3 matches they'd used. It's obvious that the game against Liverpool would've generated more noise than the Birmingham game. Apart from the scoreline, who the opposition is makes a big difference, most teams fans will make more noise against local rivals and the so called big teams.
Ferrit Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 From a home POV: I'm not surprised at all with that. From where i'm sitting, there's normally me, and another chap in our block that sing at all. Atmosphere is pretty terrible to be honest. (middle, middle riverside)
Kenwoo Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Meh, articles like this don't bother me. Far too many variables involved. The fans know where the good atmospheres are, who sings and who doesn't. We get a bit of a bad reputation, but the last few seasons we've been brilliant at home as well as away. We were alot quieter mid-season when there was uncertainty about whether to get behind Kean or not, but at the end of the season everyone got behind the team and the atmosphere at Ewood was fantastic. The most disappointing efforts I can remember were the Chelsea fans at the FA Cup semi, the first time I went to Maine Road and the first time I went to Eastlands.
CrazyIvan Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 It's no coincidence that the loudest grounds/fans are in completely enclosed stadia.
sambo Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I wish we could do something to fill the corners in, the atmosphere would be SO much better. Creates a wall of noise, atm chants are lost between the BBE and DE
cruz Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Haha thats my mate farrar sticking the 2 fingers up on our page My Mate Giving 2 Fingers You're mates with Eddie Howe? And he goes to Rovers games??

CAPT KAYOS Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 It's the gaping chasms between the Riverside and the ends that causes the problems. Something I have posted on previously and the accoustics at Ewood. Even on TV when a small following the away fans always seem louder than the Rovers fans. As the comments below the article show too many variables for it to be considered on this basis.

Please move the TV cameras from the Jack Walker Stand to the Riverside, as every time we have game on TV we show off our worse stand.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted May 25, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted May 25, 2011 ######!!!! Obviously no bias in there
Jim Royle Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 They've obviously not been testing at Ewood when its at its loudest, when our glorious supporters are lifting the roof of the place, you know, when Keith Andrews is getting ready to come on!
brian_gallagher85 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Please move the TV cameras from the Jack Walker Stand to the Riverside, as every time we have game on TV we show off our worse stand. Can't be done apparently due to that large ball of gas in the sky!
Mr Maureen Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Seems about accurate to me. Hopefully this poll does'nt expand into a table of creative chanting or new songs as the mighty BRFC would be rock bottom. "BARMY ARMY"
