[Archived] Sam Allardyce

Recommended Posts

I hope West Ham fans are ready for 7-1 beatings from the top four next season. :)

 Keep up ..... Why or indeed how would they be playing the top four next season?

From a west ham msg board:

'In my view, if this brings Sam Allardyce to the club, this is a disaster for West Ham.

We're fast becoming 'just another football club', rather than one that held dear some fundamental football principles.'

.... and one that has only ever won sweet (Please don't use that word again) all adhering to those precious principles.

..... Oh silly me. I forgot WHU won the World Cup in '66. ^_^

Any need? :wstu:

Rishtoner Clare. Remember it's a Burnley overspill town.

I wonder how long they'll tolerate him playing the kind of football that lowers his chance of a heart attack.

I give him two and a half seasons max, the first one for free because he should get them promoted one way or another, the second to begin to build for the future and as gratitude for the promotion, then half a season when they are promised better things and never actually see them. It will be fun to see how many of the cockneys fall for his propaganda if he does dig his claws in. He'll more than likely do what he is capable of doing (and what West Ham are more than capable of doing) and then be outgrown.

I hope he fails spectacularly in this job, future jobs, and any future medicals he undertakes.

Why? he only did a good job at Rovers, good luck Sam and Neil Mcdonald.

Really??? Harsh.

I don't care for Wham especially, have a little disdain for them and some of their support I've come across [not all]... but I still wish both Sam and Neil well in their new roles. I think Venky's were wrong in their treatment of both Sam and Neil, and I hope they prove it to them.

Agreed and I'd think the vast majority of Rovers fans will feel the same way.

I have a horrible feeling he could try and test Rovers resolve on one or two players. Our owners hurt Sam, he is not likely to forget.

Ironicaly he has agreed to manage WHU and now news has come in about the club having a possible takeover offer - of all the luck.

A. West Ham are skint

B. They are in the Championship

C. The "takeover" is a rumour based on a tweet by a Malaysian national.

Obviously you aren't going to let any of that stop you from pursuing your negative agenda.

Why do I get the impression many people want Sam to do well so they can say 'Told you so' similar many people want him to fail so they can say 'Told you so'

Either way it's a good job for him to take, they start the season probably favourites to win the league there and would be shocked if they didn't.

West ham, Brum and Leeds to come back up

How is suggesting the possiblity that Sam could come in for some Rovers players, be having a negative agenda? It is not having an agenda at all. It would not surprise me because the Rovers players know how he plays. Some may even consider dropping into the championship for what maybe, one season.

It has already been mentioned in the media today, that he is interested in El hadj.

You realy do like having a gripe and a poke at other posters. People can post on here on all sorts of subjects. It does not mean they have any agenda at all.

Oh, poor old Sam got treated badly by Venkys.......... Did you see the size of the cheque he received? If that's bad treatment, bring it on.

He's been sacked. He now has a new job. Almost like real life eh?

I don't wish him luck. I don't wish him any ill either, but I follow Blackburn Rovers not WHU, so don't care what SA gets up to.

I only see his posts when someone quotes him as I've had him on ignore for weeks. Why someone joins a message board just to moan about other posters is beyond me.

If he doesn't agree with you, you have "an agenda".

Must say I was a little bemused to hear Scott Minto and Tony Gale talking up Allardyce for having more than just a ‘long ball’ footballing philosophy. The same 2 pundits who came out after his sacking and slated his style of play whilst at Ewood

If I hear another West Ham apologist mention Okocha or Djorkaef as being some sort of justification for him keeping the West Ham tradition of playing attractive football  They've not played attractive football for years anyhow! Do these people actually watch West Ham!

I wasn't aware that any team had a long history of playing attractive football, surely it always depends on the manager/players that are there at a particular time? I suspect clubs like West Ham just make the claim so that they have a consolation for consistent underachievement. Pretty sure the pompous idea only exists in the minds of West Ham fans themselves and everyone else either finds it amusing or dismisses it out of hand.

Can't see any of our players wanting to drop a division to play hoof ball

How can Allardyce do well without whu not doing well?

I know, maybe he could leave for Barca after winning the 1st 10 games

Neither can I seeing Kean has them playing his own version of "hoofball" anyway.

With regards to a previous post good on Sam for refusing to tug his forelock to arrogant owners. Big Sam is his own man who doesn't bow to anyone.

Good socialist attitude - I like him even more.

If it had been me who as manager had refused to traipse off to India I'm sure that you'd have described my actions as racist not socialist. ^_^
