Strange move for Allardyce as far as Im concerned, he was quoted as saying he didnt need to drop down the divisions to manage, he had plenty to offer the premiership, but In guess the bug and pull of West Ham was to great.

But what puzzles me more is the fact hell have a very limited budget youd imagine, even with player sales? He was ready to walk last summer because we couldnt offer him the funds to build on the current side, yet hes gone to West Ham?

As a distant observer itll be great to watch, Allardyce v The Bardy bunch

From a west ham msg board:

'In my view, if this brings Sam Allardyce to the club, this is a disaster for West Ham.

We're fast becoming 'just another football club', rather than one that held dear some fundamental football principles.'

Aye, the famous 'west ham way', Barca of England.

Pleased for Sam, I'm sure he'll do a good job for West Ham, just as he did here. He's an excellent manager who knows how to set up teams to win football matches.

I'm not going to get involved in the yah boo nonsense on here about it though.

I imagine he will be on a decent enough wage, plus any bonus he might get for getting them promoted.

He's worked on small budgets plenty of times before. I imagine his wage/bonus was good enough to lure him over there.

£1.25M a year plus a £1M bonus for promotion are numbers being thrown about in the media.

Well I wish him all the best. Without large Samuel's intervention Rovers would be tens of millions worse off, have no new owners and would no doubt soon be enterting our 3rd season of possibly 20-30 in the lower leagues. Good luck Sam, give Burnley another couple of maulings for us!

Good luck to him too from me, gotta say nice avatar and great username, I can feel the positivity running through my veins already :D

I can see them up this season, the fans will hate it though but you take the passion out of a decision to appoint a manager you appoint the right person. Im sure Gold and Sullivan, as WHam fans would not have wanted him anywhere near the place, but Gold and Sullivan as business men have obviously recognised that he is the best thing for their club right now. They need stability and a bit of steel about them and Sam is the man to bring that, I can see him playing a bit more football with them this season, not to win the fans over but because it will be possible and as someone else said its more effective in the Championship than long balls into the box, but the second they are back in the Premier League HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF.

I was also laughing at some of the West Ham fans on Sky News earlier, there was one asking "What has he achieved?" "We are West Ham, we deserve better" etc, The fact they are a Championship club now and that they have no money he is the perfect candidate especially has he has taken Bolton up out of that league and kept them were West Ham desire to be and if you listen to their fans, deserve to be there by right.

I hope Sam wants Keith Andrews to join him at whu.

Good luck to him. He did a good job for us and even though I didn't agree with his style of football, it was effective and won us points. If he hadn't have come to us, we wouldn't be in the Premiership. I still don't agree with his sacking. It will be interesting to see how the West Ham supporters respond to him, if he doesn't play 'West Ham' football. Whatever that is.

Good luck to Sam Allardyce and Neil McDonald at WHU. I hope that they do well and get them back promote.

I have a horrible feeling he could try and test Rovers resolve on one or two players. Our owners hurt Sam, he is not likely to forget.

Ironicaly he has agreed to manage WHU and now news has come in about the club having a possible takeover offer - of all the luck.

I wonder how long they'll tolerate him playing the kind of football that lowers his chance of a heart attack.

I give him two and a half seasons max, the first one for free because he should get them promoted one way or another, the second to begin to build for the future and as gratitude for the promotion, then half a season when they are promised better things and never actually see them. It will be fun to see how many of the cockneys fall for his propaganda if he does dig his claws in. He'll more than likely do what he is capable of doing (and what West Ham are more than capable of doing) and then be outgrown.

I hope he fails spectacularly in this job, future jobs, and any future medicals he undertakes.
