Fee is undisclosed. Read the statements.

Give-away is Rovers wording.

The down payment is under £17.4 million [the record sale] and may eventually go over it.

So it will be £16 million rising to £20 million.

It can't be the fixed fee in the contract because that would NEVER go above the £17.4 million.

So there has been a victory of sorts...but certainly no meek surrender.

Well done.

Get signing.

I am sure it will be for an "undisclosed fee" with both parties eager to avoid losing face in the matter.

i really do think we ought to move this thread onwards the last 50 or so pages seemed to be about clauses and conspiraces rather than transfers!

Btw. I Heard a rumour that they wouldnt say the fee because they were taking half of it and putting it in their own pockets.

Don't say that. You know that there are people on here who will take you seriously.

Wish we would do some signings, its been pretty quiet with Rovers even being linked to players......................must admit I agree with a poster before, i think Anelka would be a good option if he could be enticed, or Defoe

I would argue that clauses and conspiracies play a really, really major role in transfers.

Though I am looking forward to seeing who we will purchase in summer. I will not suggest names because I am not an expert on this matters and will appreciate the game as it is, as well as listen to your fabulous suggestions on who we should be getting.

Your colleague Paul Smith saying 'not a penny' over the £16.5m. Either way, glad it's over! :)

Phil Jones on Twitter...

"I'd just like to start off by saying that I've loved my time at Blackburn and will always be a huge fan..."

"But this is a once in a life time opportunity and I am looking forward to a new challenge. Thank you for all your kind messages."

Not too sure why he's revealing how much we were bending over backwards and how much we were offering him. It's only gonna give other players in the squad ideas.

Or conversely make other players interested in joining.

And he's probably preparing to be blamed for all of this by the majority of our fans, given how amazingly intelligent they all are.

Well done to Venkys for standing up for us! Well done for Kean going to India, and speaking to Jones to sort it and again well done to venkys for offering 80,000 a week to temot him to stay.

Got to say with a new board and this attitude of good business shown in the last week by Venkys im impressed, better than last season.

Lets kick on from here and get some fresh bodies in and look forward to the new season.

Onwards and upwards :)

Steve Kean says OVER £20m with all the 'bits and bobs'.

Put to bed... argument over...

Superb business….. do not care what anyone says – and well done to Venkys & our legal eagles for battling with the mancs over this last week and winning!!

Do Arsenal dare to approach us for Samba?? No chance they get him for cheap….NO Clause according Nicko, who is 99% spot on when it comes to Rovers news!

Not in the Champions League at the moment! Cracking comment, actually burst out laughing.

Yeah, I agree. Screw any form of ambition and optimism. Us loyal fans have already decided we'll fail.

Had I been listening, I'd have laughed too...

Not saying we can;'t get there. But this squad is still light-years away from challenging for a Champ League spot. Maybe when Phil is 25, and we keep getting significant year to year investments beyond player sales fees someone could stay at Blackburn for Champions League opportunites... but not anytime soon.
