Mattyblue Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Thing is Tris there are some on here who spend nearly every post commenting on other posters comments. That's bloody annoying an all.

rebelmswar Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 We have been linked with Brazil players in the last window. we need a centre back so, I wouldn't be surprise if we move for Marcelo. Don't think he would qualify for a work permit tho, so maybe not Roger that, thought I'd missed something tangible.
gumboots Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I would most certainly have been criticizing Allardyce, and the trust, if they had sold Jones, most definitely with a passion! The only difference would have been that i'd have had a little bit more confidence in getting a player in, of a suitable standard with Allardyce or Mark Hughes in charge as opposed to Stephen Kean. Theres no confidence, no belief in this guy that he can deliver improvements from a footballing point of view. Can you get any better than Phil Jones for the centre half position in English football ? Thats why the champions of England have just signed him as they have a man in charge who knows his stuff on what it takes to win premier league football matches. And who manages the champions of England and therefore has the pulling power that brings Phil Jones is THEIR gain and our loss regardless of the sums involved from my point of view. Get real. He couldn't keep Ronaldo despite having made him what he was. We couldn't keep Shearer, - even though Jack Walker wouldn't sell him to Utd and he apparently agreed to stay here, he went to Newcastle. We may not be stronger at Centre back without Jones, but if the money is invested wisely (and I do understand concerns about that but every club has ones that don't work out just as they have their mad successes whoever the manager and owners are)then we could come out with a stronger squad and overall stronger first team. One of the issues I've had for a number of years is that we don't have a strong enough 1st 18, in other words there is never anyone on our bench to turn to to change a game. If we can use the money we have not just to strengthen our starting 11 but to be able to have a bit more quality on the bench, then while I'm sorry Jones saw fit to cut and run this early in his career, and a bit angry about it too, I think we'll do very well.
JoeBlueWhite Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Maybe not so clueless after all, our lot in charge. Playing hardball with Fergie and the United dickheads and coming out with an extra £4 million. Good stuff. Better not waste it now...
Billy Castell Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 So Nicko, how daft is the Robiniho to Rovers story then? Must be up there with Ronaldinho.
JAL Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 And there was me thinking you held the man in such high esteem that you refused put yourself on a similar plane by shorting his name. Twas all down to the FA's respect campaign.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Are not posters permitted to post their opinions / concerns. You also have a choice to ignore, accept what is posted etc etc. People trying to suggest others are not allowed to post their opinions (right or wrong ones for that matter) that is ruining this MB. Having ago at people when they post things contary to what other views are. You chose to be annoyed by other views. If you don't want to believe etc what is written, so be it. But I suggest a poster is permitted to post their views on any subject. No one was saying that you were not permitted to voice your opinion. No one has said that you're not allowed to post anything that is remotely contentious. An attack on your opinion doesn't constitute an attack on your right to voice that opinion in the first place.
PAFELL Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Sir Alexander Chapman "Alex" Ferguson There is a massive difference between having an opinion and trying to justify your opinion using lies and misinformation. I'm not saying this has happened in this case, but it does happen quite often. Agreed, therefore just ignore them. If people need to lie to justify an opinion it reveals short comings in their character, not those who read them. No one was saying that you were not permitted to voice your opinion. No one has said that you're not allowed to post anything that is remotely contentious. An attack on your opinion doesn't constitute an attack on your right to voice that opinion in the first place. Sadly some are not always attacking the content of the post, but the poster. Which just riles others up and make things worse (rant over)
dubdubdub Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 It is grim when Rovers lose, very grim indeed, what can one say. What can one say...they could answer the question instead of dodging it with politician standard swerving. Phil Jones was going...they did well to get twenty million for him. Personally I feel that if the money is invested well then we'll have a much more balanced side which is capable of winning more games.
Black Burn Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 If I may... It is true that everyone is entitled their opinions, but opinions come with a responsibility. You want to voice your opinion, make sure you take responsbility and don't step on other people's toes while clamoring for the right to air your views. It's like airing dirty laundry - sure, we need to let them out to dry, but crowding the poles with too much of your dirty laundry is going to end up dirtying others' too. At least wash your laundry - or censor your opinion - before airing them. Or in another scenario: I could call any random guy here a @#/?, flame his mom to kingdom come, sneer at him for being a liar when he gets his sources wrong, then claim that all as my opinion. You could "choose" to ignore me, but seriously...? Ignoring a jerk isn't going to make him any less of a jerk.
BiggusLaddus Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I'm sure JAL refers to Fat Ronaldo as Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, to Pele as Edison Arantes do Nascimento and so forth as well, right? Because, after all, those are their real names... Edson Lathund, Edson. T hat is one name that deserves to be spelled right ;-)
Roost Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Thanks! Old quiz team name. Was it a gynaecological based quiz?

Lathund Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Edson Lathund, Edson. T hat is one name that deserves to be spelled right ;-) His birth certificate says Edison. Which was a mistake as it was meant to be Edson. But we're being pedantic here, can't be calling anyone by anything other than what's on their birth certificate, now can we?
rovgers Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Are you sure it's not Mrs D's going for a Brazilian? Sorry, couldn't resist!
