If Atletico are trying to buy him then he must have some quality. He is at a good age and played for the Brazilian champions. I think he will choose Madrid but we will see.

I know of him, in no great detail to be honest, but I am told by others that he is very comfortable on the ball, fairly tall and athletic without being overtly aggressive.

Sounds like a decent option if we get him on a free, could turn out to be another Samba regarding the low fee (nothing , in this case!). Anybody who has turned out for Brazil on six occasions must have something about them and he has re-sell value as well, if he turns out to be a corker.

I used to date a girl called Miranda... She had south american heritage.

Great defender, no matter how hard i tried i could never get my balls to go in...

Sorry, seems more relavant than the majority of tosh been posted on here atm

Theoretical question:

Would people be happy with our centre backs for next season being:

Miranda, Johnson, Nelsen, Givet, Hanley

With more money to strengthen other areas?

I would be extremely happy with that situation. Johnson is very solid and reliable and Hanley is coming through nicely. As for Nelsen and Givet, they'll be as solid as ever no doubt.

I've never heard of Miranda but the thought of a Brazilian centre back immediately fills me with fear. Without wishing to be stereotypical, being physical and hard to beat has always been one of our qualities.

Not sure he'd make it as a centre back in this league, seems to have the skill to play full back though.

Whatever he does at about 1:03 into the video is amazing... I'd sign him just for that!!!

Just imagine him doing that against someone like Rooney or Torres?!?!?!

He looks to me like he could play as as defensive midfielder, he certainly looks to have technical ability to play further up the pitch anyway!!!
