Neal Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 They got relegated because they couldn't score goals. Their defence was fine Didn't look fine when Jr robbed them blind for our equaliser at Ewood, awful defending. It makes sense to point out that Samba is also 27 yet we're hoping for a lot more than £8m-£10m for him. Defenders can play to older ages than most.. look at Salgado. Without making a profit on him we can use the money we've just made to buy a solid replacement. £10m or under is a top valuation though for him definitely, they're in the Championship hardly a position to start making orders. As i have said though, we need to protect our assets. We can't afford to make losses on player like the top 6 do. Though i do appreciate where your coming from. For me, Bassong at only 24 years old at potentially half the price of Johnson makes far more sense.

47er Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 here what Kean said to sky sports news http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,12606_6988434,00.html Re the Champions League, Kean actually says "we're not quite there yet". How true!
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 PLEASE!!! Spoil sport!!! As for Miranda & Roger Johnson....Samba & Jones out (No less than £15m for Samba = £31m now)- RJ £8m, Miranda free.... That leaves us with £23m + our original kitty to buy JJ and add some real quality upfront. Miranda link strange... most reports say signed precontract with A. madrid in jan...yet some posters on their club forum were today questioning why the signing had not been confirmed. Another venkys loophole perhaps?
ewoodnews Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2003142/Sunderland-bid-5m-Birminghams-Craig-Gardner.html £5m for Craig Gardner that can score goals and create chance is a bragin not to forget that he is only 24 but if sunderland are first in line then i think we could possible sneak in with an offer. Always worth a try on a half proven midfielder who has resale value. Also he is English and being sold cheaply in my opinion.

Another venkys loophole perhaps? Private jet whisked him off too? lol Hope we can sign him, he looks of good pedigree....I think with Atletico in for him, we will miss out though!
Neal Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2011/06/13/2530839/monacos-lukman-haruna-eyes-premier-league-move Wouldn't suprise me if we were interested. Nothing in it, just throwing it out there.
Fraserkirky Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Finally some action around here. Here we go! Arsenal can beat it. 9m for Samba, try 14m at least. Miranda sounds decent, would still like Bassong as well if Spurs are willing to be reasonable.
JW11 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Haruna looks a player. saw him a few times in the world cup and he impressed me
steo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2003142/Sunderland-bid-5m-Birminghams-Craig-Gardner.html £5m for Craig Gardner that can score goals and create chance is a bragin not to forget that he is only 24 but if sunderland are first in line then i think we could possible sneak in with an offer. Agree 100%,he reminds of a young David Dunn the way he strikes a ball from distance, was probably their best player last season along with Scott Dann,5mil is a bargain.
jim mk2 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I've seen Miranda play a few times - always has a stormer and his last performance was like a tempest.
Blueboy Downunder Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It starts with an I... well, that could be lucio, luisao or lulinha from fm fame....am i still way off??
steo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 If we are looking for a top class striker and are willing to splash the cash why not stick a bid in for Karim Benzema, reckon he will defo be on the move this summer with real looking to sign Sergio Aguero,my wish list would be. Bassong CB Dann CB(why is it taking liverpool so long to sign him) Serge Aurier RB Gago(think he is a better player than J Jones) C Gardner Dzagoev Vicente(cant go wrong was once a world beater) n'Zogbia Honda Pablo Piatti Benzema Fred Pjanic(not sure what he would cost but a classy player) A new LB but couldnt think of one maybe Warnock back. Most players on this list are probably not viable options but after lettin P Jones go and with Samba due to follow him, venkys need to buy quality rather than quantity.
Brfcrule1 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Nicko is the Brazilian Miranda or is it someone else? if it is could it possibly be Insua former L'Pool player?
Blueboy Downunder Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Now let's see who they try and bring in. My guess is Garrincha. ....unless he is gonna make a bigger comeback than Lazarus bob, and pay off his bar tab.....i doubt it
Fraserkirky Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Nicko is the Brazilian Miranda or is it someone else? if it is could it possibly be Insua former L'Pool player? Argentinian=Insua I dont see the need for a left winger at all, Pedersen,Olsson,Hoilett,Rochina can all play there. Thats the one position we are probably fine at.Nzogbia is a good player though, as is Vicente. Pleased that someone else has mentioned Honda, as far as Asian tour and marketing goes, would be very good business to bring him in.
Blueboy Downunder Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Theoretical question: Would people be happy with our centre backs for next season being: Miranda, Johnson, Nelsen, Givet, Hanley With more money to strengthen other areas? not sure mate. one of the thing that most rovers fans have always harped on about is our lack of pace at the back and if samba follows jones out of the exit door, then that means we have lost our fastest two defenders, never mind centre halves. if johnson and miranda are faster than jones and samba, then for sure i'll have some of that.
Iceman Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=18578 well at least the Ipswich fans, are showing the love for Big Jase. lol
Mullionvagrant Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It starts with an I... Ilan Araújo Dall'Igna???? :!: - Was at west ham for a while until injured. Scored 4 goals in 11 appearances for them-worried about age though or fitness. Currently a free agent
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It's bloody Miranda ffs how dense are some of you? The "I" thing was a joke that was clearly established after about 3 replies...
Mullionvagrant Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It's bloody Miranda ffs how dense are some of you? The "I" thing was a joke that was clearly established after about 3 replies... very dense at 7am in the morning... http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-transfer-news-Brazil-centre-back-Miranda-on-shopping-list-but-also-target-Atletico-Madrid-article746754.html http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/atletico-madrid-coach-sanchez-flores-announces-miranda-signing-1362511
Bobby G Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It was well documented that Miranda signed a pre-contract with Atletico last winter.
PAFELL Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 As Andy Cryer says on his twitter feed, have also heard that an official approach for Samba from Arsenal is imminent. As long as there is no release clause, then it is going to cost them a heck of a lot more that then £10-£12 million that they (Arsenal) think that they can get him for. With spurs also wanting him, it could be a battle between the two. Spurs though have some players we could maybe have in the deal.

pedebumchin Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Just wondering why we haven't tried to get Vaughan from Blackpool on a free. Top quality player and the Blackpool fans voted him as player of the season last year. Apparently he is on his way to WBA. I really think we need someone like him to play alongside N'Zonzi or Jones if we sign him.
bob fleming Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 ....unless he is gonna make a bigger comeback than Lazarus bob, and pay off his bar tab.....i doubt it I know. Died in 1883 which has put the dampners on it. But what a player! He had one leg shorter than the other by 6cm's. Also a raving alcholic, he'd fit right in. Is it Mirandinha? Then again, none of these start with a vowel.
