Hughesy Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 There is also a striker you are after, but it is also a fight with another club. And some word of a wide man that I will be tracking down. Has the striker got premier league experience? Miranda has a "pre-contract" with Atletico. I think our owners have issues understanding contracts and their legalities. Sven had a pre-contract

DavidMailsTightPerm Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 MIRANDA...is the Brazilian target...he has an agreement to join Atletico Madrid on a free on July...however the Venky's folk in Brazil are on the case...I hear word of a lucrative three-year deal that is MORE than he would get in Spain...so it's a bit of a battle...but the good thing is we should know with that one on July 1...don't know much about him...but if you can play six times for Brazil you are no nugget...he was in France with Sochaux when he was younger, so he has European experience...work permit? he would have a chance...this one should be watched with interest. BRAZILIANS...the Venky's people are definitely lively in this market...so there could be others out there...they have business interests there, so a bit of brand placement would come in handy for them. ROGER JOHNSON...told it is not right at the moment...no way are you paying that feee...but if you lose two centre halves...who knows. ROBERTS...Paul Jewell is currently trying to sign another striker [looking forward to writing that one]...and he could not pay Jason's wages...tired old story. There is also a striker you are after, but it is also a fight with another club. And some word of a wide man that I will be tracking down. Definitely sparking to life. Signing the targets is another thing obviously. Any word on Hoilett - some guys on here claimed he would resign - but it is very quiet at the moment.
hawkiiz Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Miranda has a "pre-contract" with Atletico. I think our owners have issues understanding contracts and their legalities. Since when did a contract stop anything from happening in football?
broadsword Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 ROGER JOHNSON...told it is not right at the moment...no way are you paying that feee...but if you lose two centre halves...who knows. I wonder if we are baulking at the fee because we do not want to pay £10m for anyone, or whether his age is coming into it. If he's 28 theoretically we could get 6 years out of him, but of course there would be no resale value.
gumboots Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Has the striker got premier league experience? Sven had a pre-contract Gameiro signed a precontract with Valencia in January but has just gone to PSG. Depends what the player wants.
nicko Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Miranda has a "pre-contract" with Atletico. I think our owners have issues understanding contracts and their legalities. Mo Johnston signed for Celtic a second time, didn't he. Where did he turn up? You don't try. You don't get. There IS a second team in for Samba...susprised me. Spurs are a runner.
deftangel Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Whatever happened to the last Larsson deal from Brum, if we're looking for a wide man? (Forgive me if I missed it, bit out of the loop). And sorry, I know this is the wrong thread but seeing as your here Nicko. Is McLeish seriously going to Villa they're off their head if true!
Mozzer Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 we dont need to sell samba so we should stand our ground and only accept offers above £12million about roger johnson - i may be wrong but wasnt it when scott dann went out the side thats when there slide started to happen - maybe go for scott dann instead -
Backroom Tom Posted June 14, 2011 Backroom Posted June 14, 2011 The lack of news on Hoilett is my main worry at present
Kenwoo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 The lack of news on Hoilett is my main worry at present Agreed. Signing Hoillett to a new 4-5 year deal would be our biggest signing of the summer.
Bobby G Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 If Spurs come in for Samba, getting Bassong & Defoe in exchange would be a deal Id take, although it would never happen.
den Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 The lack of news on Hoilett is my main worry at present The LT this morning, says there is considerable interest in Junior. Kean says the club will fight tooth and nail to keep it's better players - which is a turn around from saying a day or two ago that he wouldn't keep anyone at the club who wasn't happy.
nicko Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 is the striker demba ba? Whats happening on the seb larsson front nicko? any news The striker is not Ba...and there are a lot of other clubs after Larsson now and a certain cooling at Rovers. I don't know why that is...perhaps the aim has been raised. We will see soon, but getting the feeling that the current list is a bit more interesting than I first imagined.
alexanders Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 but getting the feeling that the current list is a bit more interesting than I first imagined.
nicko Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Mutu? No, that rumour went up in a puff of smoke. White smoke.
J*B Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 No, that rumour went up in a puff of smoke. White smoke. So we can all draw a line under it?
alexanders Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 So, what about Amauri? A little bit too old for my liking though.
Kenwoo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 No, that rumour went up in a puff of smoke. White smoke. Intrigued
pedebumchin Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Nicko, Is Olivier Giroud on that list? Graeme Bailey from sky has linked us to him this morning.
Kenwoo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Probably the wrong thread but any idea why we let Frank Fielding go? He was unbelievable for the reserves all season and is drawing all the plaudits from the U21 game. Buy back clause?
modes98 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 we dont need to sell samba so we should stand our ground and only accept offers above £12million about roger johnson - i may be wrong but wasnt it when scott dann went out the side thats when there slide started to happen - maybe go for scott dann instead - Correct but I think it has more to do with the fact that they brought in Curtis Davies, Liam Ridgewell and Jirinek to cover the other CB position that meant they slid down the table than Johnson who was putting in top draw performances. The only reason we scored past them at Ewood was because Johnson went off injured and Ridgewell got confused. Scott Dann is a better player when around Johnson. I've seen him play for Coventry and Birmingham and he is far improved when he knows Johnson does the hard graft. As a replacement for Jones, Johnson is spot on. For a more cultured CB then Dann would fit the bill, the issue is Liverpool want him and he is 2 years younger so the fee would be higher. If we could get in early and agree a joint deal for around £15m then we have done well.
