nicko Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Nicko, Is Olivier Giroud on that list? Graeme Bailey from sky has linked us to him this morning. I have heard a couple of French names of late. Got to say I don't think that is a favoured hunting ground any more. I can't go into names I have heard of at this stage. Wait until there is more meat on the bones - apart from live ones that have a time limit. But in the past two/three days there are definitely stirrings. The summit in India - and the sale of Jones - means that there is now a clear picture of what is available to spend and also what names are being agreed on.

pick32 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Newcastle are in for Erding for PSG he is a quality finisher and has the build to play in this league it could be him.
mark Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 So we can all draw a line under it? haha, ten points J*B.
braddock Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 In addition to Miranda, I've heard we're after another Brazilian by the name of Prospero. http://www.football-talents.co.uk/Kau___Prospero_Mannes-3_7-33208-2.html Now we just need Caliban and the Shakespearean tragedy of Blackburn Rovers will be complete. Did you stop up all night writing that one? The LT this morning, says there is considerable interest in Junior. Kean says the club will fight tooth and nail to keep it's better players - which is a turn around from saying a day or two ago that he wouldn't keep anyone at the club who wasn't happy. Or maybe Junior isn't unhappy.
Mattyblue Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Probably the wrong thread but any idea why we let Frank Fielding go? He was unbelievable for the reserves all season and is drawing all the plaudits from the U21 game. Buy back clause? Robbo and Mark Bunn are two good keepers. Do you keep the lad if he is never going to get near the first team? Lets just hope he aint the next Shay Given!
roversinmyblood Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Nicko apologises if you have already been asked the question, but what is the state of play in trying to sign JJ from Shalke?
Kenwoo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Robbo and Mark Bunn are two good keepers. Do you keep the lad if he is never going to get near the first team? Lets just hope he aint the next Shay Given! He isn't too dissimilar to Given actually. His shot-stopping is top drawer. Think we could have kept on loaning him for the next few seasons. Great potential and a local lad.

He was getting rave reviews on loan at Hartlepool.
Exiled in Toronto Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Well I for one am looking forwards to seeing a few new faces next season. Apart from the youngsters, I know what the current lot are going to do before they do it, or try to do it in most cases.
budha Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 He isn't too dissimilar to Given actually. His shot-stopping is top drawer. Think we could have kept on loaning him for the next few seasons. Great potential and a local lad. Robbo is 31 yrs. He could go on for 5 or even more yrs if he stays fit. Fielding is already 23 yrs, so he doesn't have time to wait for 5 or even more yrs.
True Blue & White Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Any word on Hoilett - some guys on here claimed he would resign - but it is very quiet at the moment. He's going to resign? He's only 21, he's got years left. ..........Ohhhhh you mean re-sign
Kenwoo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Perhaps Rovers see Jake Kean as a better prospect? He was getting rave reviews on loan at Hartlepool. Yeah, heard great things about him too. Too many good keepers, eh? It's a shame because you never get good money for young keepers with great potential.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 He's going to resign? He's only 21, he's got years left. ..........Ohhhhh you mean re-sign lol But he did find it a very tiring season :-)
BPF Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I see the 'Muck-Spreading' about us hasn't ceased: TRANSFER RUMOURS: Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean will only be given 8 million of the Phil Jones transfer fee to spend on signings. #BRFC

Ricky Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I'm quite happy with that ebing in the press as long as it's not actually true BPF. At lease we can plead poverty woth brum then if we do choose to go for Johnson.

I hope that I am proved wrong but I've always suspected one of the attractions that Venky's saw in us was how in the last 3 years the Trust had bought players on the cheap, sold them at massive profits and got away with no re-investing that money. Whilst I don't think they won't give Kean any of it, I do think they are looking to recoup their initial investment as soon as possible.
nicko Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Jason Roberts is NOT going to Ipswich. If you find out who Paul Jewell was talking to yesterday you will laugh at the 'misunderstanding.'

They could be thinking of using it to pay the wages of a 'marquee' signing.
Blackburn Ravers Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Not the best source - http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/blackburn-rumours.php arsenal and spurs will do battle to land blackburns chris samba.spurs are willing to use bassong or midfielders jermaine jenas or palacios as potential key part in the deal
alexanders Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Europe's most unwanted Samba to Spurs we get Bassong and Palacios. SIR YES SIR!
JW11 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 really hope its nonsense about the 8million from Jones' transfer
broadsword Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Let's wait and see what happens, no point being up in arms about transfer tittle-tattle. Time will reveal all.
