Nicko,

Is Olivier Giroud on that list? Graeme Bailey from sky has linked us to him this morning.

I have heard a couple of French names of late. Got to say I don't think that is a favoured hunting ground any more.

I can't go into names I have heard of at this stage. Wait until there is more meat on the bones - apart from live ones that have a time limit.

But in the past two/three days there are definitely stirrings.

The summit in India - and the sale of Jones - means that there is now a clear picture of what is available to spend and also what names are being agreed on.

In addition to Miranda, I've heard we're after another Brazilian by the name of Prospero.

Now we just need Caliban and the Shakespearean tragedy of Blackburn Rovers will be complete.

Did you stop up all night writing that one?

The LT this morning, says there is considerable interest in Junior. Kean says the club will fight tooth and nail to keep it's better players - which is a turn around from saying a day or two ago that he wouldn't keep anyone at the club who wasn't happy.

Or maybe Junior isn't unhappy.

Probably the wrong thread but any idea why we let Frank Fielding go? He was unbelievable for the reserves all season and is drawing all the plaudits from the U21 game. Buy back clause?

Robbo and Mark Bunn are two good keepers. Do you keep the lad if he is never going to get near the first team?

Lets just hope he aint the next Shay Given!

He isn't too dissimilar to Given actually. His shot-stopping is top drawer. Think we could have kept on loaning him for the next few seasons. Great potential and a local lad.

Robbo is 31 yrs. He could go on for 5 or even more yrs if he stays fit. Fielding is already 23 yrs, so he doesn't have time to wait for 5 or even more yrs.

Perhaps Rovers see Jake Kean as a better prospect? He was getting rave reviews on loan at Hartlepool.

Yeah, heard great things about him too. Too many good keepers, eh? It's a shame because you never get good money for young keepers with great potential.

I see the 'Muck-Spreading' about us hasn't ceased:

TRANSFER RUMOURS: Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean will only be given 8 million of the Phil Jones transfer fee to spend on signings. #BRFC

Not a bad thing.

Never show your hand!

I don't dis-believe this (which shows my lack of faith in Venky's). I hope that I am proved wrong but I've always suspected one of the attractions that Venky's saw in us was how in the last 3 years the Trust had bought players on the cheap, sold them at massive profits and got away with no re-investing that money.

Whilst I don't think they won't give Kean any of it, I do think they are looking to recoup their initial investment as soon as possible.

They could be thinking of using it to pay the wages of a 'marquee' signing.
